Robert Harry 'Buck' Klippert

July 11, 1930 - August 22, 2011

Robert H. Buck Klippert, 81 of El Dorado, AR; went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Life Touchs John R. Williamson Hospice House following a lengthy illness.

Robert was born on July 11, 1930 in Smackover, Arkansas; the son of Charles E. and Mattie Murphy Klippert. A Navy veteran Robert served on the USS Norton Sound which launched the first ship borne guide missile and later he was stationed a Pearl Harbor Naval Air Station. He worked for Murphy Oil Aviation Department at Goodwin Field. Robert retired after 22 years with Great Lakes Chemical as an operator. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church. Robert also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Pete, Ray, Edward, Floyd, and Bill Klippert, and an infant brother Little Son, his sisters Nellie Simmons, Marie Perdue, Ruth Chenault, Bertha Bert France and Dorothy Coker, and a son Larry Dean Klippert.

Survivors are his wife Wanda Winchester Klippert of El Dorado, sons Mike (Lois) Klippert of Hot Springs AR, Phil (Sharon) Klippert of Chatsworth, GA, Tommy (Sandy) Klippert of Pickens, SC, Keith (Terri Lynne) Klippert of El Dorado, Wayne (Sharon) Klippert of Jacksonville, AR, a daughter in law Tracy Klippert of Easley, SC. Along with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A memorial visitation for friends with the family will be Friday, August 26, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Faith Assembly of God Church. The family will have a private Interment service. Cremation services were provided by Bailey Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you to the many people who helped care for Buck especially Rev. Clay Hale, his brother in law Arnold Perdue, the staff of Oak Ridge Nursing Home, and Life Touch Hospice. Memorials may be made to Life Touchs John R Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Edna L. Reaves

May 5, 1933 - December 23, 2011

Edna L. Reaves, age 78, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Magnolia Health Care in Magnolia, Ar. She was born May 5, 1933 in Emerson, Ar. to James A. and Lillie G. (Walker) Holland.

A private Interment was held Friday, December 23, 2011 at Western Cemetery in Emerson, Ar. under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Lillie Ora Orrell

November 6, 1914 - October 29, 2012

Lillie Ora Orrell, age 97 of El Dorado, passed from this life on Monday, October 29, 2012 at her home in El Dorado. She was born on November 6, 1914 in Wesson, AR to the late Dorsey and Bessie Maxine (Harris) Jones. Lillie enjoyed playing cards with her friends and tending her flower garden. She was a crafty lady whom enjoyed painting, making ceramics and porcelain dolls. Lillie dearly loved her family and enjoyed all the good times they spent together. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, representing 5 generations of family and was also of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of almost 60 years, John Orrell; six sisters, Rosalie Kemp, Pearl Burris, Ruth Orrell, Estelle Dupree, Lucille Jones and Maxine Haskins; three brothers, Leroy Jones, Hugh Jones and Thomas Jones; and a daughter in law, Coral Ann Orrell.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Donald Hugh Orrell of Alvin, TX; one daughter, Jackie Vasquez and husband Richard of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Tammi Lansford and husband Mike of Alvin, TX, Kelli Huggins of Brazoria, TX and Lisa Cashion and husband Wayne of Birmingham, AL; eight great grandchildren, Jim Lansford of Houston, TX, Lauren Lansford of Georgetown, TX, Kristen Huggins of Brazoria, TX, Kristina Madison and husband Kyle of El Dorado, Kim Jensen and husband Cory of Allen, TX, Richard Cashion and wife Marla of Paragould, AR, Jonathan Cashion of Springfield, IL and Jason Cashion of Jonesboro, AR; six great great grandchildren, Kylie, Kelsie and Kohlie Madison, Brook and Marc Jensen and Alisha Cashion. She is also survived by her caregiver and friend Lisa Mayer, whom she loved dearly and considered part of the family and a special K9 Companion “Prissy”

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 31st, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ben Early and Bro. Brian Trostle officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice or to Hope Landing.

Thomas Earl Talley

July 16, 2012 - October 18, 2012

Born in South Arkansas in the Western Community July 16,1929, he was the only son of Frank and Nora Haynes Talley. The surrounding countryside abounded with wildlife and provided a lifelong interest.

He passed away in Homer October 18, 2012 with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill, Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:00 o'clock with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM until service. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery, Emerson, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

His love for his family was paramount in his life, and was demonstrated by many offerings of barbecue and the trimmings. His business ventures included assisting his sons in the pharmacy, tending his cattle, and various other activities.

He graduated from Walkerville/Emerson High School and attended Southern Arkansas University. He was of Methodist faith and was a member of the Men's Bible Class of First Methodist Church in Homer.

He was blessed by advances in the medical profession during the pioneer days of open heart surgery in Houston.

Survivors include his wife of 63 and a half years, Jane Talley; .son, Larry and wife, Penney, son Brennan and wife, Patricia; grandchildren, April Ashmore of Homer, Aaron Talley of Belize, Lauren Talley of Los Angeles, Melissa Ellis and husband, Jimi; great grandchildren include Libby and Aspen Ashmore of Homer, Jessie Ellis of Homer, Todd Taylor of Bossier City, Mae Claire and Evi Talley of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pallbearers include Frank Speer, Dan Furlow, Billy Frye, Todd Taylor, Larry Garrett, and Herschel Talley.

Abraham 'Abe' Charles Kaplan

May 26, 1933 - January 15, 2011

Abraham Abe Charles Kaplan, 77 of El Dorado, AR; died on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Hillsboro Manor Life Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Born on May 26, 1933 in Muskogee, OK; he was the son of Abraham and Julia Potts Kaplan. Abe served in the Korean Conflict in the Army. After graduating from Northeast State University in Tahlequah, OK; Abe began his career with Zales Jewelry Stores working as a manager in Oklahoma, Indiana and retiring from the El Dorado store after over 30 years with company. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the VFW and American Legion. Abe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Fitzpatrick.

Survivors are his wife Carol Rowland Kaplan of El Dorado, a son Maurice Kaplan of Winnsboro, TX, daughters Sarah Fennell and Elizabeth Liz Pyle both of El Dorado, and Tara Lynn Erwin of Muskogee, OK, along with 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Churchs Fellowship hall. Cremation service provided by Bailey Funeral Home.

Elvis Kenneth Keaster

June 18, 1934 - December 1, 2011

Elvis Kenneth Keaster, 77 of Strong, AR; went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his home following a sudden illness.

Born on June 18, 1934 in Derricks, AR; he was the son of Sylvester and Melissa J. Barbre Keaster. Kenneth loved the outdoors working as a logging contractor or enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Strong, AR and enjoyed going on Mission Trips and building churches for the Lord.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas and Alvie Keaster, and a sister Corrie Bagley.

Survivors are his wife Geneva Blackwell Keaster of Strong, a daughter Sherrion Herring of Little Rock, a son Kenny (Dana) Keaster of Strong, a sister Gladys Golden of Derricks, AR, brothers Eunice Keaster of Derricks, AR, Lawson Keaster of San Augustine, TX, and Ernest Keaster of El Dorado, along with grandchildren Chasity (Darby) Brighton, Amber (John) Doggett, Lindsey Herring, Hunter, Jordan, Drake Keaster and Morgan Keaster serving in USMC at Okinawa, Japan, and including great grandchildren Beckmon Doggett, Bailey Doggett, Blakely Brighton and Addison Brighton.

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Strong with Rev. Scotty Guillot and Rev. Gerald Perry. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery by Bailey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Strong Friday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Betty Joyce Kidwell

November 16, 1940 - March 25, 2010

Betty Joyce Kidwell, 69 of El Dorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Betty was born in Crossett, Arkansas on November 16, 1940 to Robert and Callie Gardner White. She resided in El Dorado for 35 years and was married to a wonderful man, Raymond Kidwell for 26 years before he passed away on February 9, 2001.

Betty was kind, gentle and loving and those attributes were the reason that she enjoyed keeping the nursery at several local churches in El Dorado over the past 10 years. All the children loved to be around her because of sweet spirit and gentle heart.

Betty leaves a heritage of strong Christian faith to her daughter Cindy McKinnon and granddaughters Jana Ponder and Callie McKinnon. Along with her daughter and granddaughters she loved her son-in-law Richard McKinnon and her grandson-in-law David Ponder very much. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and she had a twinkle in her eyes when she was with her great grandchildren Davin and Jada Ponder. She spent countless hours with them reading story books, watching cartoons, especially Thomas the Train, playing and cuddling. She is also survived by her loving brother and his wife, Louis and Florence White of Crossett.

Bettys love of the Lord and her strength and inspiration was evident to everyone that knew her especially during the 2 years during her illness. She had a wonderful support team of family and friends including a very special friend, Elice Meinert. She loved to listen to Southern gospel music and would attend concerts as often as she could. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Betty was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Greeting her on her arrival in Heaven were her mother and father, her husband and her beloved grandson, Jason Jeffress, who passed away at age 17 in 1999.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 28, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Harrison and Rev. Jim Polk officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Kindergarten and Daycare because of the love Betty held for her children.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening between the hours of 6:00 P. M. and 8:00 P. M.
