Burial will be at Municipal cemetery in La Huacana, Michoacan, Mexico for Cesar Tellez, 26, of Ceres. He died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 1, 1977, Mr. Tellez was a native of La Huacana, Michoacan, Mexico, and had lived in Ceres since 2001. He was a field agricultural worker.

He leaves behind his parents, Ruben and Maria Guadalupe Tellez of La Huacana, Michoacan, Mexico; and five brothers, Ruben Tellez of Ceres, and Carlos Tellez, Antonio Tellez, Alfredo Tellez and Balfer Tellez, all of Mexico.

Andre A. Castagne

A memorial service was held Saturday at Christ Unity Baptist Church in Modesto for Andre Alexander Castagne, 19, of Ceres. He died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, from injuries suffered in an auto accident.

Evins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Oct. 3, 1984, Mr. Castagne was a native of San Jose and lived in Ceres for six years. He worked as a tile finisher for Della Maggoire Tile Co. in Tracy. Mr. Castagne enjoyed football, fishing and music.

He leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Aubrey McFall of Fresno; his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Lisa Hogan of Ceres; four brothers, Aaron McFall of Fresno, Kenny Hogan of Ceres, and Ruben Saucedo and David Saucedo, both of San Jose; two sisters, Jasmine Hogan of Ceres and Arika McFall of Fresno; and his grandparents, James and Nancy Hogan of Ceres, John Pierre and Esta Castagne of Paradise, Juanita Smith of Modesto, Vera McFall of San Jose and A.D. McFall of Fresno.

Angel Ceja Jr.

A Mass was held Monday morning at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Angel Ceja Jr., 80, of Ceres. He died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

The Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born April 27, 1923, Mr. Ceja was a native of Mexico and lived in Ceres for 20 years. He was a laborer and member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.

He leaves behind his wife, Maria Eleana Ceja Meza of Ceres; 11 children, Jose Ceja, Roberto Ceja, Jesus Ceja, Javier Ceja, Amalia Ochoa, Gloria Salcedo, Angelica Garcia, and Elivier Ceja, all of Ceres; Miguel Ceja and Maria Muratalla, both of Texas, Rebecca Ochoa of Lodi and Armando Ceja of Indio; two brothers, Ignacio Ceja and Federico Ceja, both of Mexico; his sister, Sofia Ceja of Ceres; and 68 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.

Alejandro G. Arreola

Evins Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements in Mexico for Alejandro Gamino Arreola, 61, of Modesto. He died June 15, 2003 in Ceres.

Born Aug. 26, 1941, Mr. Arreola was native of Puruas, Michoac‡n, Villamadero, Mexico, and lived in Modesto for five years. He worked as a field worker for Money's Food in Pescadero for 30 years. Mr. Arreola enjoyed television and sports.

He leaves behind his wife, Maria Arreola of Modesto; 10 children, Alejandro Arreola of San Mateo, Elpidio Arreola and Teresa Arreola of Modesto, Esteban Arreola, J. Everd Arreola, Clementina Arreola, Ma Esther Arreola, Ma del Pilar Arreola and Esteban Arreola, all of Mexico, and Josefina Arreola of San Jose; two brothers, Anacleto Arreola of Mexico and Merced Arreola of Modesto; sisters, Guadalupe Arreola and Amalia Arreola of Mexico; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Lucille R. Fisher

Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service was in charge of private services for Lucille R. Carter Fisher, 87, of Hughson. She died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Riverbank Nursing Home.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born May 28, 1915, Mrs. Fisher was a native of Conway, Ark., and lived in Hughson for 50 years. She was a meat packer for 16 years and had worked for Nor-Best Poultry. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Free Will Baptist Church.

She leaves behind five children, Charles Raye of Oregon, Vernon Ginn of Tennessee, Jack Ginn of New Mexico, Jo Ann Johnson of Arkansas and Billie Styles of Hughson; two sisters, Julia Williams of Waterford and Louise Byers of Arkansas; and 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children Richard Bussell and Lynn Bussell.

Remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350.

Gianna A. Acosta

A Mass was held yesterday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oakdale for Gianna A. Acosta, 19 months, of Ceres. The infant died Feb. 27, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

The child was born Sept. 11, 2001 and lived in Ceres her entire life.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

The baby leaves behind her parents, Angelo and Luz Acosta of Ceres; her brother, Roman Anthony Acosta of Ceres; and her grandparents, Juan and Amelia Mendez of Modesto and Bertha G. Maes of Oakdale.

Kathleen M. Barnett

A memorial gathering was held at Rube Boesh Hall, Turlock for Kathleen Marie Edwards Barnett, 46, of Hughson. She died of natural causes Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Private burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born Sept. 28, 1956, Mrs. Barnett was a native of Healdsburg and was raised in Hughson, where she lived most of her life. She was a computer operator for Delta Collections in Stockton. Mrs. Barnett enjoyed sports.

She leaves behind her two children, Jennifer Broumas and Michael Barnett, both of Winton; her parents, Milford and Dolores Edwards of Hughson; two sisters, Sheri Parshal of Portland, Ore., and Laura Fern of Squaw Valley; and two grandchildren.

Don E. Akard

A graveside service was held yesterday at Acacia Memorial Park for Don E. Akard, 73, of Modesto. He died of natural causes Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center.

A memorial service was held yesterday at Big Valley Grace Community Church.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born July 28, 1929, Mr. Akard was a native of Tulsa, Okla., and He lived in Modesto 38 years. He was a construction accountant for James River Corp. for 21 years. He also was one of the original associates at the Ceres Wal-Mart store before his second retirement in 1992. Mr. Akard was a member of Toastmasters International, the Kiwanis Club, Shriners, Jaycees, Valley Fever Drum and Bugle Corps and the Beyer High School Band and Booster Club. He attended Big Valley Grace Community Church and had been a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Akard also was a member of Gideons International. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He leaves behind his wife, Eleanor Akard of Modesto; two sons, Bradley Akard of San Francisco and Michael Akard of Modesto; and two grandchildren.

Cecil C. Dorton

A memorial service was held Saturday morning at Heart of the Valley Church in Modesto for Cecil Cube Dorton, 92, of Ceres. He died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at his home.

Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 8, 1911, Mr. Dorton was a native of Marlow, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 52 years. He worked for the Department of Agriculture as a meat grader. Mr. Dorton enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He leaves behind his wife, Lillian E. Dorton of Ceres; children, Dennis Dorton of Waterford and James Dorton of Turlock; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sharon D. Myers

A graveside service was held Monday at Ceres Memorial Park for Sharon Diane Kincaid Myers, 46, of Modesto. She died of pancreatic cancer Sept. 16, 2003 at her home.

Eaton Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Feb. 15, 1957, Mrs. Myers was a native of Waterbury, Conn., and lived in Modesto for 45 years. She was a certified nursing assistant for eight years and had worked at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Myers enjoyed dolls and camping.

She leaves behind two sons, Jeffrey D. Myers of Keyes and Brian K. Myers of Modesto; her parents, Leona M. Kincaid of Winton and Walter F. Kincaid of Waterbury, Conn.; two brothers, Michael D. Kincaid of Tishamingo, Okla., and Kenneth L. Kincaid of Mariposa; her sister, Beverly Kincaid of Winton; her grandparents, Frank and Vieva Cox of Modesto; and one grandchild.

Blanch E. Duree

A graveside service was held Tuesday afternoon at Ceres Memorial Park for Blanch E. Gearrey Duree, 67, of Keyes. She died Friday, August 1, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center.

Born Jan. 4, 1936, Mrs. Duree was a native of Garner, Maine. She lived in Keyes for 41 years. She was an assembly worker at Cal Pine Containers for 20 years.

She leaves behind three children, Vickie Page, Terry Duree and John Duree, all of Keyes; two brothers, John Gearrey and Raymond Gearrey, both of Idaho; three sisters, Joyce Gearrey and Harriet Gearrey, both of Idaho, and Alberta Jones of Nevada; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex L. Duree; and one sister.

Edith M. Brickey

A funeral was held Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Edith M. Ball Brickey, 79, of South Modesto. She died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at her home.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 8, 1923, Mrs. Brickey was a native of Algoma, W.Va., and lived in South Modesto for 43 years. She was a cannery worker at Tri Valley Growers for 22 years.

Mrs. Brickey leaves behind six children, Lee Brickey of Sonora, Pat Burgess and Lois Doty, both of Modesto, Linda Guinn of Ceres, David Smith of Tennessee and Kay Smith of Riverbank; three sisters, Ruby Kingrea, Dot Pruitt and Florence Gibson, all of West Virginia; and 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Holly Brickey; her sons, Donald Brickey and Kenneth Brickey; a brother; and two sisters.

John J. Castiglione

A funeral service was held Thursday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for John Joseph Castiglione, 60, of Hughson. He died of a cancer-related illness Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at his home.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Jan. 23, 1943, Mr. Castiglione was a native of Sicily and lived in Hughson for 45 years. He was a farmer for 30 years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Rose Castiglione of Hughson; six children, Joey Castiglione and Josie Castiglione, both of Modesto, Pete Castiglione of San Francisco, and John Castiglione Jr., Vince Castiglione and Sadie Maxwell, all of Hughson; and eight grandchildren.
