Martin Santiago Herrera, 82 of Castroville passed away peacefully surrounded by his love ones on Friday, March 6, 2015. He was born February 8, 1933 in Nueva Ecija, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1982.
He was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Church, in Castroville. His favorite past time included gardening, playing cards, going to Casino, visiting and playing bingo with his long time friends at Castroville Community Center.
He was a Laborer for Golden Field Greenhouse in Castroville for 14 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gorgonia Abelardo-Herrera and daughter, Consuelo Herrera.
He is survived by his six children, Alfredo (Elizabeth) Herrera of Salinas, Ester Herrera (Dominador) del Valle of Castroville, Angelito (Rose) Herrera of Salinas, Dori Herrera (Rodel) Uganiza of Salinas, Mel (Irenea) Herrera of Salinas, Miguel A. Herrera of Castroville, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Our Lady of Refuge Church, 11140 Preston Street, Castroville, CA 95012.
Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.

Mateo Daza Novoa

Mateo Daza Novoa, 5 of Castroville, passed Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Salinas. He was born November 24, 2009 in Salinas, CA..
He was a Student.
He is survived by his father, Mauricio Daza and mother, Betsabe Novoa, 2 brothers, Dirceu Daza, Ricardo Daza, grandparents, Victor and Marta Daza,
Ricardo and Sussana Cardenas, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held 1:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901
Rosary will be held at 7:00p.m. at Struve and Laporte Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Refuge Church, 11140 Preston Street, Castroville, Ca 95012.
Burial will follow at Castroville District Cemetery, 8442 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing, CA.

Ms. Bertha Mae Collins
September 4, 1930 - March 17, 2015
Resided in Salinas, CA
Ms.Bertha Mae Collins of Salinas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 following a brief illness. She was 84 years old. Born September 4, 1930 she was a native of West Point, Texas until moving to Salinas in 1959 which became home until her passing.
Bertha was a stranger to none and loved by all. Many calling her Mother, Madea, Sister, Auntie, Grandma, Best Friend, of which she answered and lived up to all.
More importantly she loved her family and she loved The Lord. Her favorite book in the bible was Job. Bertha was faithful, and dedicated to both till the very end.
Bertha enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Judge Judy, Soap Operas, Family Feud, and Dr.Phil. However, which she loved more than anything was spending time with her family. She had a unique connection with all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sons Lesley Henson, Eugene Hogg Jr. Her daughter Dorothy Collins, Her mother Jimmie Washington, Her brother Henery Washington, and sister Julia B. Mckenzie, in addition to many others.
She is survived by her children: Ben Henson and Victor Hogg (Tammie) of Salinas Ca, Jimmie Kay Ware (Sedrick) of Napa Ca, Bruce Blake (Christine) of San Marcos Ca, 11 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family, and Many Best Friends.
She will be greatly missed, but her legacy which has touched so many will live on for generations to come.
Her Children and Family thank everyone for their love, support, and prayers.
Viewing will be held 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901.
Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901.

Rosalinda Javier Almario
July 28, 1933 - March 12, 2015
Resided in Salinas, CA
Rosalinda Javier Almario, 81, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born in 1933 in the Philippines and lived half of her life in Salinas.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rizalina Almario.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bayani H. Almario; Son, Benjamin (Lea) Almario of San Diego; Son, Bayani Jr. (Remy) Almario of Salinas; Son, Bernard (Mina) Almario of Sparks, NV; Daughter, Rosalie (John) Lammers of Salinas; Son, Benedict (Joanne) Almario of San Bruno; Daughter, Rosemary Almario of Salinas; Son, Bryant (Lupe) Almario of Salinas; numerous grandchildren, Christopher (Alison) Almario, Benjamin Almario Jr., Leanne Almario, David (Patricia) Almario, Jennifer (Russell) Garcia, Cassandra Almario, Vanessa Almario, Joal De Veyra, Bryce Almario, Jaena Almario, Shaundra Taylor, Joshua Label, Jacob Label, Bradley Almario, Brent Almario, Melissa Hall and Adam Hall.
Rosalinda graduated from college in the Philippines and worked as a teacher prior to coming to the United States in 1963. She was a Budget Analyst at Fort Ord for 20 years. After she retired from Federal Civil Service, she kept herself very busy while working at the Everett Alvarez High School cafeteria for 15 years where she maintained long lasting friendships with her co-workers.
In closing, our Mom was a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She always placed the needs of her family and friends above her own needs. She enjoyed spending time with her family during the holidays. The matriarch of the Almario Family will be truly missed.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA 93906.
Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
Reception will be at 4:00 p.m. at the Filipino Community Hall, 250 Calle Cebu, Salinas, CA 93901.

Julie Lynn Jones
December 23, 1961 - January 27, 2015

Julie Lynn Jones 51, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. She was born December 23, 1963 in San Angelo, TX. Julie was a loving wife and mother, a believer in Jesus Christ and a true friend to anyone she knew.
She married on March 26, 1988 to David Jones.
Julie worked at Vegetable Growers Supply for 24 years.
Proceeded in death by Shirley & Brady Connor and Don Wolf.
Julie is survived by her loving husband David Jones, her beautiful daughters - Shawnna Enos and Leanne Jones, her brother Chris (Jackie) Connor, nephews and nieces.
Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 830 Padre Drive, Salinas, CA 93901

Linda Kennedy
October 22, 1957 - March 8, 2015
Resided in Salinas, CA
Linda Kennedy died peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 8, 2015, of ovarian cancer. She was 57 years old.
Linda was born October 22, 1957 in Pontiac, Illinois, to Lyle and Dorothy Stalter, and grew up in Flanagan, IL. She graduated from Taylor University in Upland, IN, before moving to California, where she met and married Kirk Kennedy in 1983. They made their home and raised their two children, Maren and Jaemen, in Kirk's hometown of Salinas.
Linda was a supportive mother and was very involved in her children's schooling. She volunteered for many years at Ariel Theatrical, eventually becoming the executive director. Linda was a devout Christian, attending Saint Ansgar's Lutheran Church.
Linda is survived by her husband Kirk; her daughter and son-in-law, Maren and Max Wise of Vallejo, CA; and her son, Jaemen Kennedy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on 2:00p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of Salinas, 830 Padre Drive. All are welcome to attend.
Memorials may be made to Ariel Theatrical, P.O. Box 1268, Salinas, CA 93902.

Rhonda Ramey
April 1, 1962 - January 7, 2015
Resided in Pebble Beach, CA
Rhonda Ramey, a long-time resident of the Monterey Bay area, died at her home with her family and friends in Pebble Beach on January 7 at age 52 from lung cancer.
She is survived by her husband John Paul Beaudoin; her sons Jordan Beaudoin and Nicolas Beaudoin; godsons J'Monie Walker and Billy Reynolds, sisters Melissa Ramey and Patricia Ramey and brother Vic Ramey. Her family and friends miss her and her generous spirit greatly.
After growing up in the Columbus, Ohio area, Rhonda moved to the Monterey area in 1981 when she was stationed at Fort Ord. After her discharge, she worked for the cities of Monterey and Pacific Grove for a number of years as an animal control officer, which was a reinforcing outlet for her lifelong love of animals.
Rhonda married John Paul Beaudoin in Pacific Grove in 1988. She was a devoted mother to sons Jordan and Nicolas and, in more recent years, to her "adopted son" J'Monie. Her warmth for and enduring loyalty to a large group of friends also represented a central part of her life. Rhonda brought an infectious brand of optimism to those close to her that will long be remembered and treasured.
A Memorial Service will be held for Rhonda Ramey on February 28, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church in The Forest in Pebble Beach.
