Robert Fellows
April 27, 1926 - July 11, 2019
Born in Santa Ana, California
Resided in Gonzales, California
Robert “Bob/Pops” Fellows, a resident of Gonzales, CA, passed away July 11, 2019 at Eden Valley Care Center in Soledad after a brief illness at the age of 93. He was born April 27, 1926 in Santa Ana, CA to Howard and Susie Fellows and lived in Gonzales for over 85 years. Upon graduation from Gonzales High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served in WWII as a gunner’s mate in the South Pacific.
After the war, he married the love of his life, Verena Studer. At the time of Verena’s passing in 2011, they had been married 64 years.
Bob started his career as a butcher and returned to school attending Hartnell College and UC Berkeley where he obtained his vocational teaching credential in meat cutting. He worked as a meat cutting instructor for over 30 years at the Soledad Correctional Facility until his retirement in 1986.
Bob served as an assistant Boy Scout master, was a member of the Gonzales Community Presbyterian church and the Salinas Sirs. He was a member of the Gonzales American Legion Post 81 for over 73 years where you could often find him giving orders at the legion’s barbeque pit.
Up until recently, Bob enjoyed building furniture, wahoo game boards and frames for family and friends. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and enjoyed traveling, especially with his wife and playing yogi and wahoo with his grandchildren. In his earlier days, he also enjoyed hunting and golfing.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Verena, his son, Robert and sisters, Joleen Vanoli and Patricia Williamson.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Fellows of Gonzales; sons, Steve (Linda) and Tom (Cindy) Fellows of Gonzales, Daughter-in-law Evelyn Fellows of Medford, OR, six grandchildren; Jim (Janelle) Fellows of Lancaster, CA; Jeff (Yaneth) Fellows of Quartz Hill, CA; Tricia (Dan) Seduski of Silver Spring, MD; Holly (Jamie) Halligan of Albany, OR; Karen and Kathy Fellows of Gonzales, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Cremation with private burial at Gonzales Cemetery.
Memorial service in Bob’s honor will be held on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Gonzales Community Presbyterian Church, 4th and Day Streets, Gonzales, CA 93926. Reception immediately following at the American Legion Hall, 419 5th Street, Gonzales, CA. 93926.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gonzales Community Presbyterian Church, PO Box 715, Gonzales, CA 93926, or VNA/Hospice Foundation.

Steven Louis Fusco
May 3, 1948 - July 12, 2019

Resided in Salinas, California
Steve Louis Fusco, 71, of Salinas, CA, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2019, two weeks after his beloved wife Angela passed away. He was born May 3, 1948, in Hollister, California. He worked in the apricot orchards with his family, until they moved to Marina. Steve graduated from Seaside High School and Hartnell College. During that time he taught accordion and played at Pavia’s Italian restaurant. He was involved in his church and was Choir Director. In 1968 he and Angie were married. He joined the Army and went to Vietnam. When he returned they moved to Elizabethtown, Ky, where Anthony was born. They returned to Salinas and Steve worked at Ft. Ord, Quinn Company, Salinas Valley Ford and VGS. He retired and worked part time for the City of Salinas. He loved his family very much, enjoyed playing golf, concerts, traveling, riding their motorcycle every weekend, and going to car shows. He enjoyed his Christian fellowship and church family. He loved to watch his son, granddaughter and grandson play sports and play the guitar and drums. He is survived by his son Tony (Veronica), grandchildren Isabella and Giovanni, Sister and brother-in-law Rosy and Michael McCormick, brothers Richard and Mario and their families, and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will take place for both Angie and Steve on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Christian Church, 1035 Rogge Rd., Salinas, CA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Monterey County SPCA and any Veterans Organization.

Beverly A. David
July 6, 1923 - May 6, 2019
Born in Santa Monica, California
Resided in Salinas, California
Beverly David went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 6th 2019.
Beverly passed peacefully in her home where she resided for the past 12 years. She was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1923, and was a lifelong resident in Salinas.
Beverly graduated from Salinas High School in 1941, and worked as a public school employee with North High for a number of years, finally retiring at Alisal High School, where she met many lifelong friends.
Beverly loved bowling, she was a league secretary for many years and bowled side by side with her late husband.
She was a treasurer with the Salinas Alano club for many years.
Beverly was passionate about arts and crafts, in her early years kept busy with arts and crafts and painting with her friend Dotti Earp. Crocheting was also a passion of Beverly’s, she loved to crochet baby blankets and give them to family and church members. She suffered from Macular Degeneration, and was clinically blind, however that did not stop her, she volunteered at the Blind and Visually Impaired Center, where she helped make Arts and Crafts to sell at open houses. She loved to keep busy and rarely missed an opportunity to visit her friends at the nail, face and hair shops, where she made special friends.
Beverly was a member of Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian church in Salinas, and loved to sit and listen to the children sing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by Husband, Carroll (CR) David, Step-Daughter Sue Hauschild, grandson, Russ Hauschild, and her faithful dog companion (Samatha).
She is survived by Son, John (Patti) David, Granddaughters, Susan (Darold ) Nielsen, Sandra (Brent) Hiller, Melanie (John) Yurkovich, and Roz Bailey, Great granddaughters, Kate, Sierra and Tessa Hauschild, Holly (Jason) Avila, Andrea (Richard) Babcock, Thomas (Danielle) Lopez, Robert (Tammra) Lopez, and John and Jackie Dunn, along with numerous great, great grandchildren, and Michael Harland, Beverly’s friend and care giver.

Anthony Michael Parco
May 25, 1988 - August 10, 2015

Anthony Michael Parco passed away in his home Monday, August 10, 2015. Anthony was born May 25, 1988, in Monterey, CA.
From the time he was little, he always had a tremendous amount of energy and a huge heart.
He was ambitious, creative, intelligent, and had a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
He was always looking out for others. Whether he was helping someone in need, lifting a heavy heart, or fixing a car, he was always brightening everyone's day.
He had an infectious laugh that on your worst days, could put a smile on your face.
When he was about 10 years old, he loved fishing down at the old cement boat pier in Capitola during the summer.
Being Anthony, he decided to start making and selling fly fishing hooks he handcrafted himself.
On a single day, he made over $400 with the help of little sister Krystina, who he put in the back of his red wagon and wheeled around the neighborhood making sales.
He also loved skating, skateboarding, paintballing, wakeboarding, and tinkering with things, trying to make them more efficient and more useful.
His hobbies led him to develop a passion for working on vehicles.
He obtained an Associate of Occupation Studies Degree from Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento.
During his time at UTI, he was often found drifting cars wherever he could, much to the dismay of Sacramento police department.
For the next several years he bought, sold, and repaired cars with the burning passion to have a better life with his son Michael.
Michael and Anthony loved each other very much. They were not just father and son, but best friends with an unbreakable bond.
They were always playing games in the house, playing with their puppy, Sparrow, or snuggling up watching TV together.
Anthony never loved anyone as much as he did his son.
Anthony is survived by his son, Michael Anthony Parco.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Laurie Parco, brother, Andrew Parco, and sister, Krystina Parco, of Salinas; his father, Cosmo Parco, and his brother, Rome Parco, of Chico.
He is dearly missed by his best friend, Alex Cordone of Salinas.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Monday August 17th, 2015 at Struve and Laporte Mortuary, 41W. San Luis St., Salinas.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 18th, 2015, at Central Coast Baptist Church, 249 Tenth St., Marina.
Burial will follow the funeral at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Prunedale. Ca. 93907.
A reception will take place at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 E Alvin Dr., Salinas, following the burial.

Silvio Bernardi
July 22, 1939 - March 13, 2016
Resided in Salinas, CA
It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Silvio Bernardi, 76, who died peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Silvio had fought a courageous eight year battle with esophageal cancer.
Silvio was born July 22, 1939 in Watsonville, CA to Dino and Lilly Bernardi. He was raised in Castroville, attended Castroville School and graduated from Salinas High School in 1957.
Silvio's father emigrated from Lucca, Italy in 1926 and began farming artichokes in Castroville. Silvio started working on the ranch with his father as a young boy of 10, building wooden boxes to pack artichokes in. Joyfully rising in the dark each morning, he loved to watch the sunrise and smell the earth. Silvio spent his entire life farming artichokes, the majority of the time as partner/V. President of Sea Mist Farms.
Silvio was proud to be an artichoke farmer, he was also a committed community member and volunteered for a wide variety of organizations. He was one of the early volunteers of the Castroville Artichoke Festival. He served on the Monterey County Water Resources Board of Directors, the Castroville Water District Board, the Northern Salinas Valley Mosquito Abatement District, and the Castroville Fire District, among numerous others. He was also a member of Native Sons of the Golden West.
In his free time, Silvio loved to BBQ with the guys and looked forward to his Wednesday Pedro games "with the Boys" at Mike's Place, where over the years they had gone from drinking cocktails to Ensure. Silvio also enjoyed spending time bass fishing at Lake Nacimiento with his son-in-law, Rick Moore.
Silvio was preceded in death by his parents, his son Greg Bernardi and his grandson Keanan McSorley. He is survived by his wife of 43 Years, Julie Bernardi, his children Robin (Scott), Silet (Todd), Tara (Ron) and Keja, along with 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by the children of his heart, Cassie (Rick Moore) and Sean McSorley (Jennifer) and grandchildren Lauren, Jessica and Teagan. He is also survived by his brother David Bernardi (Toni). Silvio traveled to Lucca, Italy many times since the 70's and loved his relationship with his large extended family there.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 19 at 11:30AM at the Carpenters Union Hall at 910 2nd Ave, Marina, CA. 93933.
The family would like to thank his wonderful team of caregivers- Dr. John Hausdorff (for giving us 8 extra years!), Dr. Craig Christensen (30+ years), Dr. Mark Vierra and all the amazing nurses and staff at Pacific Cancer Care.

John Michael Mustain
October 20, 1942 - February 27, 2016
Resided in Salinas, CA
John Michael Mustain, 73 of Salinas passed away Sat. Feb. 27, 2016. He was born Oct. 20, 1942 in San Francisco, CA.
John was the Owner of Central State Oil.
He was a member of the Salinas Elks Lodge, Native Sons, Early Riser Prayer Group, past member of the Salinas Golf and Country Club.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, Clifford and Hazel Mustain, daughter, Amy Mustain, and son, Michael Mustain.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mustain, of Salinas, daughter, Erica (Blaine) Foose, of Auburn, AL., granddaughters, Abigail and Emily Foose, of Auburn, AL., sister, Susan Williams, of Albuquerque, NM., brother-in-law, Michael Dever, of Auburn, AL., nieces, Victoria (Robert) Frey, of Austin, Tx., Kyla Dever, and Erin Dever of Auburn, AL.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00p.m. Sat. March 5, 2016 at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 East Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA. 93906.
