Cora Wakefield
June 3, 1916 -- Nov. 15, 2002
Cora Lou Vita Wakefield, 86, died November 15 at her home in Vacaville.
Born in Arkansas, Mrs. Wakefield was a former resident of Benicia and current resident of Vacaville.
Mrs. Wakefield was a homemaker. She and her husband moved to Merced County to work as almond growers. In 1993, the two sold their orchard and moved to Vacaville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1999, and her son, Bruce in 1946.
Survivors include children Jerald (Carolyn) Wakefield of Hemet, Corinne Pangelina and Nona Wakefield of Vacaville, Lugene Martinez of Youngtown, Ariz.; sisters Norma Hood of New Mexico, Wanda Wagner of Washington; brothers Lowell (Louise) Curtis and Harvey Curtis of Oklahoma, Talmage (Grace) Curtis of New Mexico; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. November 20 at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, Benicia. No visitation. Burial: private.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Florence Dodson
June 12, 1915 -- Nov. 15, 2002
Florence Marcella Dodson, 87, died Nov. 15 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ind.
Born in Hamler, Ohio, she attended school in Hamler and Jackson, Michigan and her senior year at Marion High School in Marion, Ind.
Mrs. Dodson was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ Temple Church; previously taught Sunday school; and was secretary of the Women's Missionary Department.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making handkerchiefs, cooking, and writing letters.
Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on August 27, 1994;, daughter, Roberta; stepson, Harold, Jr.; parents, Gayle and Marie Price; stepmother, Ruth Price and sister, Gloria McShane.
Survivors include her sons, Otis (Ruby) and Gilbert (Annette); daughters, Rita Smith, Georgia (Richard) Washington, Marjorie (Elder John) Fonzer and Allegra (Charles) Heard; brother, Gayle Price, Jr.; sisters, Mary Helen (Bob) Cotton and Donna Price-Lay; 72 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pio Velasco
May 6, 1915 -- Nov. 20, 2002
Pio B. Velasco, 87, died Nov. 20.
Mr. Velasco was a Napa resident and a retired pipefitter.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield. There will also be a Catholic Prayer Service at 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at the funeral home with Father Irwin Mesiona officiating. Burial at St. Alphonsus Cemetery
will follow.
Martin Lopez
July 26, 1962 -- Nov. 23, 2002
Martin Lopez, 40, of Vallejo, died November 23 at Kaiser Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Mexico, he had been a Vallejo resident for 10 years.
Mr. Lopez worked three years as a foreman for the California Conservation Corps. He was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Vallejo.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 27 in the church, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Nov. 26 at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo. Vigil services will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 in the funeral home. Burial will be in All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his mother, Elisa Lopez.
Survivors include father Antonio Lopez, of Vallejo; sisters Susana (Eduardo) Martinez, Mayra (Henry) Guzman, both of Vallejo; brothers Jorge (Maria Dolores) Lopez and Hector Lopez, both of Vallejo; two nieces and four nephews.
Charlie Moore
Jan. 23, 1946 -- Nov. 13, 2002
Charlie Edward Moore, 56, died at home in American Canyon after a short illness.
Mr. Moore was born in Washington, La., and was a Vallejo resident for 49 years before moving to American Canyon and residing there for the last two years.
Mr. Moore was employed as a certified nursing assistant for Vallejo Convalescent for 30 years retiring in 2000.
He loved trains, fishing and photography.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Moore.
He is survived by his life-long companion Mavis Christian of American Canyon; stepdaughters, Cathy Murguia, Cheryl McDougal both of American Canyon and Karen DeRosa of Vallejo; stepsons, Steven McDougal of American Canyon and Dwayne McDougal of Blythe; sister, Gloria Lofton of Fairfield and brother, Alvin Moore of Vallejo.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. November 21 at Skyview Funeral Chapel in Vallejo with Pastor Emeritus Norman Simpson of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Inurnment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Moore's honor to the American Heart Association, North Bay Office, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, Calif. 95402.
Dolores Salientes
Jan, 19, 1949 -- Nov. 15, 2002
Dolores L. Salientes, 53, died November 15 at home after a long battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Salientes, also known as "La La," was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
She worked as a homemaker for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting, gardening, outdoors, going to the movies and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Salientes is survived her daughter, Leona (Nolan) Smith of Vallejo; son Martin, Jr. of Vallejo; sisters, Frances Molina of Vallejo; Corrine Sepulveda of San Pablo; Susan Gonzales of Richmond; brothers, Vincent Gonzales of Martinez; Leroy Gonzales of San Pablo; James Gonzales of San Pablo and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. November 19 with a 7 p.m. vigil service at St. Basil's Catholic Church. Mass will be held 2 p.m. November 20 at St. Basil's Catholic Church. Inurnment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research.
