JOHN M. BRUNO JR.

Mr. Bruno, 65, died June 20, 2001, at a local care center. He was a hotel manager.

Mr. Bruno was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Delta to John B. Bruno Sr. and Elena Montoya, who are deceased.

He is survived by two sisters, Sophia Aguilera and Lucy Hargis.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

ROBERT COY ELEY

Mr. Eley, 21, died June 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs.

Mr. Eley was born Nov. 14, 1979, in Texas City, Texas.

He is survived by his father, James C. Eley; his mother, Roxane E. (Westpahl) Eley; his stepmother, Julie M. Eley; two stepbrothers, Jeremy Mattsen and Justin Mattsen; a stepsister, Cherie Mattsen; and his stepgrandmother, Betty Jorgenson.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900.

HENRIETTE "HENNE" LeVINE

Mrs. LeVine, 91, died June 23, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. LeVine was born Oct. 14, 1909, in New York to Solomon Farb and Rose Warm, who are deceased. She was married Oct. 26, 1930, to William LeVine, who is deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Sondra Wolf and Nancy Meyers; a sister, Fredrica Goodman; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A private family memorial service will be held. Inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Rose Gardens, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597.

VALINDA L. RICHARDSON

Mrs. Richardson, 84, died June 26, 2001, at a local care center. She was a retired teacher.

Mrs. Richardson was born March 9, 1917, in Tobias, Neb., to Theodore Rhode and Marie Sagehorn, who are deceased. She was married to Harrington "Rich" Richardson, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Mark; a brother, Ted Rhode; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Fredric Rhode; and a sister, Renata Edwards.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday with services at 2 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-7991, is handling arrangements.

MERLE LeROY "JR" HASTINGS JR.

Mr. Hastings, 48, died June 23, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He worked in construction in Colorado Springs and was an underground miner at the Climax Mine in Leadville.

Mr. Hastings was born Sept. 29, 1952, in New York to Merle LeRoy Hastings Sr. and Frances D. (Disney) Cornelius. His father is deceased.

He is survived by three daughters, Tammy, Angela and Crystal; his mother; two brothers, Steven Joseph "Steve" and Michael Raymond "Mike"; and eight grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday with a memorial service at 5 p.m. at Cappadona's Family Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

BETTY O. GILBERT

Mrs. Gilbert, 81, died June 21, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a high school teacher and also worked in the graduate department at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Mrs. Gilbert was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Grand Island, Neb., to Herman Suehlesen and Anna Cords, who are deceased. She was married July 3, 1943, to Herbert M. Gilbert.

She is survived by her husband; a son, J. Thomas; three daughters, Susan Mills, Barbara Snyder and Linda Heather; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John; and a grandchild.

Private family services and burial were held. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, handled arrangements.

OMER WARREN BOBERG

Mr. Boberg, 77, died June 25, 2001, at a local hospital. He retired from King Soopers. He served in the Army Air Corps from Dec. 13, 1943, to May 15, 1947.

Mr. Boberg was born April 13, 1924, in Tamrack, Wis., to William Boberg and Olenna Johnson, who are deceased. He was married April 30, 1947, to Carole M. Vigil.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Myra Thomsen, Cynthia McEntee, Debra Nau, Dianna Slaymaker and Jennifer Greeley; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Floyed; and two sisters, Evelyn Amanna and Eileen Boberg.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Radiant Church, 4020 Maizeland Road. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

JOE MEDVED

Mr. Medved, 84, died June 24, 2001, at his home in Fountain. He was a manager for Rio Grande Motor Way in Colorado Springs and a driver for H.V.H. Trucking in Denver. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.

Mr. Medved was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Milwaukee to Matthew Medved and Anna Boskeo, who are deceased. He was married Jan. 23, 1941, to Edith M. LoPresto.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Joanna Blomquist; a brother, William; three sisters, Mary, Margaret and Ruth; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard; two brothers, Anthony and Frank; and a grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m Friday at Runyan-Stevenson Mortuary Chapel, 6425 W. Alameda Ave., Denver. Inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge. Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906, is handling arrangements.

JULIAN P. "BUD" TATUM JR.

Mr. Tatum, 87, died June 25, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He was an educator and director of guidance in Colorado Springs schools. He was superintendent of Myron Stratton Home.

Mr. Tatum was born April 3, 1914, in Starkville to Julian P. Tatum Sr. and Myrtle McElfresh, who are deceased. He was married June 1954 to Harriet W. Gordon, who is deceased.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lt. Robert M. Tatum.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Burial and a masonic service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St.

GLADYS M. GOHLIKE

Mrs. Gohlike, 77, died June 25, 2001, at her home in Colorado Springs. She retired from Current.

Mrs. Gohlike was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Gaylord, Mich., to Edward and Lina (Fraley) Maddox, who are deceased. She was married April 16, 1955, to Richard R. Gohlike, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Roach; a daughter, Janie Gigliotti; a brother, Donald Maddox; five sisters, Lois Juranek, Margaret Grey, Shirley Martindale, JoAnn Lynch and Vera Maddox; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. After the service a reception will be at Elks Lodge 309, 3400 N. Nevada Ave. A private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.

LILLIAN (HUTCHINSON) BRIM

Mrs. Brim, 92, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 23, 2001, in Goldendale, Wash. She was a nurse and homemaker.

Mrs. Brim was born Sept. 11, 1908, in West Union, Ore., to Arnold and Lily Hutchinson, who are deceased. She was married June 6, 1929, to Alfred L. Brim Sr., who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Alfred L. Jr. and Samuel; a daughter, Armeda Ashe; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Hutchinson and Kenneth Hutchinson; a sister, Bertha Whittaker; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services were held in Oregon. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday with a service at noon at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. A private burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

FRANCELIA "SALLY" THURBER

Sally, 64, died June 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs. She was a technical writer for TRW, worked at First National Bank, was a court reporter with the El Paso District Court and the District Attorney's Office, all in Colorado Springs. She served in the Army for two years as a WAC, a stenographer at the Pentagon.

Sally was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Newport, Vt., to Wendel W. and Maude (Still) Thurber, who are deceased.

She is survived by a brother, Benjamin W. "Ben"; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Judy" "Liz" Thurber and Lannie Poor. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Vicki Browne and Rachael Wizzle.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cappadona's Family Center, 3133 N. El Paso St., 520-1817.

FRANCES D. (HAYDEN) ROWAN

Frances, 86, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 22, 2001, in Windsor. She was an administrator assistant with a newspaper and hospital in Connecticut.

Frances was born April 21, 1915, in Bronx, N.Y., to Thomas Hayden and Alfie Seer, who are deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Vincent and Michael; a daughter, Frances Begley; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a grandchild.

Services and cremation were held.
