Andersen of West Haven, a son, Richard H. Andersen of Milford, sister of Marion Williams of West Haven and Ruth Slinney of Winter Haven, FL. Also survived by a granddaughter Christina Andersen of West Haven and 2 great grandchildren, Zakas and Jillian Kenyon both of West Haven. She was born in West Haven, Nov. 4, 1912 a daughter of the late Charles & Ellen Carter Riggott, she was manager for 10 years of the former S & H Green Stamp office in Hamden. She was a member of the Pebbles of the First Congregational Church in West Haven a long time member of Eastern Star Golden Rod Chapter # 34 of West Haven.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of West Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to the O.E.S. Hospital Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven.

Hamden - Eleanor L. Considine, 84, of 280 Lane Street died May 29, 2002 at CT Hospice in Branford with her two sons by her side. Born in New Haven in 1918, the daughter of John Leaf and Minnie Miller she was the widow of Raymond J. Considine also of New Haven. A 1936 graduate of Hillhouse High School she worked for the A.C. Gilbert Company of New Haven and later for Community Bank and Second New Haven Bank before retiring in 1982 after 25 years of service. She is survived by sons: Ray Considine of Framingham, MA and Peter Considine of Brooklyn, CT: four grandchildren, Joshua Considine, Kathryn Considine, Meaghan Considine and Regan Considine: and two sisters, Ebba Casius of Hamden and Ethel Moriarty, formerly of West Haven. She was predeceased by a brother, Milton Leaf, of Hamden.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service Saturday, June 1st at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 450 Whitney Ave., New Haven. Calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. with the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment immediately following the service at Beaverdale Cemetery. At the request of the family memorial gifts may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church or to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, HAMDEN.

In Hamden, June 2, 2002, Bridget (Betty) Bohan Degnan, 100, of 415 River Rd. Wife of the late John M. Degnan. She was born in Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland, daughter of the late Bernard and Kate Mulligan Bohen. Mrs Degnan was a resident of Hamden for the past 45 years and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She is survived by nephews, Joseph V. Prior of North Haven, Frederick J. Prior oif Simsbury and nieces, Carol P. Gunning of West Haven and Nancy P. Baccinello of Largo, Fla. and many nieces and nephews in Ireland. She was predeceased by sisters, Rose A. Prior, Mary Ellen Reynolds, Kate Mahon and brothers, Bernard, Patrick, Michael, Thomas, John and James Bohan.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life, Tuesday morning June 4th at 10 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will be in St Lawrence Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Hospital of St. Raphael, Foundation, 1450 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06511.

In New Haven, May 12, 2002, Helen Ostrowski Coburn, 76, of 58 Ford St., Hamden, wife of he late Charles Coburn and mother of the late Mary Veronica Coburn. Grandmother of Lena Dalbey of San Francisco, CA, sister of Marie Hampton of Warminster, PA, Thomas Ostrowski of Forked River, NJ and the late Theresa Sloskey, Katherine Dixon, Frank and Edward Ostrowski. Helen was born in Chester, PA, Feb. 26, 1926 a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Closkey Ostrowski, she was a graduate of Abington School of Nursing in Abington, PA and Southern Connecticut State Univ., from 1966 to 1978 she was a Occupational Health Nurse Consultant for the State of CT and later a consultant for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She was a parishioner of St. Rita Church and was active on several committees and was a former trustee of the church.

Bruce of Hamden, grandmother of Nicole A. Bruce of New Haven. She was born in West Haven, Nov. 26, 1921 daugher of the late Rudolph & Alice Reiners Neps and was a lifelong resident of West Haven. She was the owner of the former Alice's Beauty Salon of West Haven from 1941-58 and was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in West Haven.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 31 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Born in Montreal, Canada on May 20, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Irene LaFabre Paradis. Mrs. LaMache had worked for the Rock-A-Bye Infant Wear in New Haven and the Frame Shop in Westville. She is survived by two daughters: Josee Moon and her husband Robert of East Haven and Gaetane McGovern and her husband James F., Jr. of Jacksonville, NC and a son, Jacques LaMarche and his wife Patricia of Winnabow, NC, two brothers, Pierre Jean Paradis and Bernard Aubin Paradis of Montreal, Canada, also by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Haven on Tuesday, June 4, at 8:30 A.M. Arrangements with BEECHER AND BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., Hamden. CROMWELL - Nancy Heller Andrews, 64, of 36 Agawam Drive, formerly of Meriden, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Meriden on Dec. 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothea Kirschstein Heller, Jr. She had been the office manager/bookkeeper at the Ridgeview Health Care Center in Cromwell until the time of her illness. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden and was an avid sports fan and a member of the Timberline Golf Club in Berlin.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Wood, of New Haven; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John F. and Anne Andrews of Meriden and Christopher S. Andrews of Boca Raton, FL; a sister Cynthia Isyk of Wilmington, N.C., with whom she traveled extensively; a brother, Frederick W. Heller III of Lake Tahoe, CA; five grandchildren, Jessica Wood of New Haven, who cared for her during her illness, John F. Andrews, Daniel Andrews and Katherine Andrews, all of Meriden, Cameron Andrews of Boca Raton, FL; a cousin and dear friend, Cheryl Gudrian of Royal Palm Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sat., June 1 at 2 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Rev. Wallace Merdinyan will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care provided by Hartford Hospital and the Connecticut VNA. Meriden – Warren J. Dittmer, 81, of 360 Broad St. died Friday, July 5, 2002 at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Grace Cichowski Dittmer. He was born in Meriden, May 28, 1921 a son of the late Edward and Gertrude Swinden Dittmer. He graduated from Meriden High School and the Curtis Wright Institute in Glendale, CA. Her served in the US Army Air Corp in England during WW II. He worked for 42 years as a shipping clerk at New Departure until his retirement in 1981. He belonged to the 452nd Bomb Group Assoc. and the 8th Air Force Historical Assoc. He is survived by a daughter, Joan S. Kibly of Meriden, a sister, Joyce Colle of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Dittmer, Raymond Dittmer and two sisters, Audrey Tomasino and Shirley Turner.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.

Dorothy Sabol Sniffen Chase

Meriden - Dorothy Marie (Sabol Sniffen) Chase, 87, formerly of 22 Marlson Road, died Tuesday, July 9, at Elim Park in Cheshire following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of F. Luin Chase Sr. She was born in Hartford CT, Dec. 11, 1914 daughter of the late Joseph and Bertina Coombs Sabol. The Sniffen family from Bridgeport adopted her. She moved to Meriden in 1932 and worked for the International Silver Company and then at the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital for forty years as an L.P.N. She joined the Swedish Baptist Church, later the Park Ave. Baptist Church and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for forty years and served as a Deaconess. She was a pianist and an organist, a prolific knitter and she did ceramic work. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Arla and Richard Brandl of Meriden, Dorene Boisonneault of Meriden, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Franklin Luin and Joyce Chase Jr. of Meriden, Robert M. Chase of Meriden, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Borkowski and a brother, Joseph Sabol.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13 at 4 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 262 Bee St., Meriden. The Rev. Joel Rissinger will officiate. Burial at Walnut Grove will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the D. and L. She was born in New Haven, Dec. 22, 1913 daughter of the late John J. & Mary E. McGuire Crane she graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 1934. She was a teacher at Sacred Heart Academy for 14 years retiring in 1978. She received the Albertus Alumni Assoc. Award in 1988, the Sacred Heart Academy - Hearts in the Community Award in 2000 and was a member of the Catholic Charity League and New Haven Council of Catholic Women.
