In New Haven, April 9, 2003, Russell Perrin Winter, Jr., 69 of 161 Hoadley Rd., Bethany, husband of Edna Harger Winter. Born in New Haven, July 24, 1933, a son of the late Russell P. and Dorothy Kramer Winter, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of the University of Connecticut Forestry School. He drove school buses for Sorenson Transportation Co., DeFour Transportation Co. and the Town of Bethany where he drove the senior citizens bus. He was a member of the Naugatuck Elks Club. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Alice Chueka, sisters, Joan W. Montgomery of Idaho, Joyce W. Howard of Bethany and one grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce E. Winter.
Funeral service private. Arrangements with BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Contributions may be made to Bethany Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 460 Amity Rd., Bethany 06524.

Leora Raban Albert, 88, died on Friday, January 3, 2003 at home. A native of Connecticut, “Lee” lived in West Haven, New Haven, Hamden and Branford before retiring to Seven Springs FL, and later to Cary, NC. She was the daughter of Herbert Raban and Jennie Marsh Raban of New Haven. Lee was preceded in death by her brothers Alfred and Kelsey and by her sisters Ethel and Virginia. Lee is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Otto (Dutch) Albert; two sons, Donald Albert and wife Linda of Cary, NC, and Laurence Albert and wife Diane of Branford, CT; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Albert of Seattle, WA, Jennifer Albert Howard and husband Paul of Angier, NC, Chris Albert of Boston, MA, and Erika Albert of Branford, CT; and one great grandson, Aaron Howard of Angier, NC. She also leaves behind numerous beloved relatives and friends. Lee was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven. She was employed as a legal secretary at several law offices in New Haven and also worked at Yale University. Lee and Dutch were active in the Knights and Dames social organization of East Haven for many years. Her favorite pastimes included playing cards with her grandchildren, travel, walking the beach, entertaining, eating lobster and winning at bingo.
No calling hours. A Memorial service will be held on Jan 11th at 10am at the Whitneyville United Church of Christ, 1253 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Burial will be in the Hamden Plains Cemetery with arrangements by BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

Ursula Kelly Ahmuty, 83, February 24, 2003, of 18 Beverly Road, Hamden. Wife of the late William R. Ahmuty, Jr. Mother of Mary Maloney and her husband, Kevin, of Hamden, sons, William R. Ahmuty, III and his wife, Joellen of Lattingtown, NY, John K. Ahmuty and his wife Cindy of Sandy, UT, daughters, Joan Hoefling and her husband Richard of Silver Spring, MD, Signe Brown and her husband Eugene of Durham, NC, Ursula Maher and her husband Joseph of Novato, CA., Sister of Warren Kelly of Middletown, NY. Russell Kelly, Toms River, NJ, Joan McCarthy of Laguna Hills, CA and the late Marie McGraw, Virginia Burke, Mulry Kelly and John deLacey Kelly. Grandmother of Leah, Kevin, Luke, Elizabeth, William, Michael, Crystal, Lauren, Kelly, Jason, Matthew, Brian, Christine, Joseph, Jacqueline and Jennifer, and one great grandson Max. Mrs. Ahmuty was born in Lawrence, NY, daughter of the late Warren and Marie Mulry Kelly. A former resident of Rockville Centre, NY, she made her home in Hamden for the past 15 years. Mrs. Ahmuty, a 1941 graduate of the College of New Rochelle, NY, was past president of the CNR Alumnae Association, Long Island Chapter, she was a past member of the New Haven Womens Club, a Eucharistic minister at St. Rita Church and was active in Literacy of America.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Church, Hamden, Thursday, February 27th at 9:00 AM. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Wednesday, February 26th from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, NY. Contributions may be made to Literacy Volunteers of America Greater New Haven, 580 Ella T. Grasso Blvd, New Haven, CT 06519.

MERIDEN - Darrell M. Rogers, 22, of 105 Woodland St., died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at his home. Born in Meriden on Nov. 9, 1980, he was the son of Gene Blair of Waterbury and Celisa Rogers of Meriden. He was a high school graduate and enjoyed football. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Damien Osborn of New Haven; three sisters, Jenelle Parrish of Panama City, FL, Nikkita Rogers and Anijah Rogers, both of Meriden; his stepmother, Ethel Blair of Waterbury; four stepbrothers and sisters, Wilbur F. Clinton of New Haven, Ladora Sanders, Danette Broome and Ramona Barnes, all of Waterbury; a host of aunts, uncles and friends; and his special friend, Catrina Rinson of Meriden.
The funeral will be held Monday, August 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 84 Franklin St., Meriden. The Rev. Willie J. Young will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

In Hamden, July 10, 2003, Edward Joseph Suski of 60 Colony St. Husband of Nancy Stiles Suski. He leaves a daughter Catherine Suski of Denver, CO and nieces, Christine Burke and Victoria Ann Burke. Mr. Suski was born in New Haven, Dec. 21, 1930, son of the late Boleslaw and Gladys Wilmanski Suski. Mr. Suski started working for the original George and Harry's Restaurant at 90 Wall Street in New Haven upon graduation from Hillhouse High School in 1947, became the manager and continued on when the restaurant became Naples Pizza and Restaurant to the present time. He was predeceased by a sister, Victoria S. Burke.
Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Monday, July 14 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 A.M. WALLINGFORD — Margaret Arisco, 39, of Carlton St., passed away on Friday, July 11, 2003, at home. She was born, April 9, 1964 in Meriden, a daughter of Esther (Yates) Barbuito. Margaret is survived by her mother, Esther Barbuito; two sons, Vincent Jankowski, Jr. of Wallingford and Eddie Goralnik of Middletown; and one granddaughter, Kaylei Mae Driscoll-Jankowski. She also leaves several brothers and sisters as well as a host of friends.
Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., on Monday, July 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Roy of St. Joseph's Church. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be made to Vincent Jankowski, in care of the funeral home.

Malcolm was born in New Haven, March 31, 1950 a son of Jean Barker Graham of West Haven and the late Carl Graham. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served in Vietnam. He was a computer technician for the Regional Water Authority.

Also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Stanley Munden. Margaret was born in Sunderland, England, May 14, 1920 daughter of the late William and Hannah Kirton Arno. She was an active member of the Woodbridge Senior Center and will be sadly missed by all.

Mrs. Warner was a secretary at New Haven Hospital from 1934 - 1944, served as a U.S. Navy Wave from 1944- 1946, returning as a secretary to the Dept. of Surgery at Yale Medical School and retired in 1976. She is a member of the Hamden Grange and Dunbar United Church of Christ. Louise is survived by step-children; Mrs. Shirley Mattson and her husband J. William of Mirmar, FL, Elizabeth Elliott of Hollywood, FL, Julian Warner and his wife, Catherine of Estero, FL, Edward Warner and his wife, Maryann of Hamden, step-grandchildren; Dale Warner, Julie Wilson, Amy Platt, Peter Mattson, Debra Horvath, Emily Mattson, Lauretta Garrett, David Elliott and Jessica Warner and 14 step-great grandchildren.

Cheshire - Francis Alphonse Barth, 88, husband of Grace Mary Bowman Barth, of Avon Boulevard, passed away Tues., June 3, 2003 after an extended illness. He was born in Rumford, ME, Jan. 30, 1915 a son of the late Casmir and Brigida Balakas Matulis and served in the US Army during WW II. He was employed as a truck operator, after which we worked for Geometric Tool Co. as a tool maker and he later worked for the Danjon Mfg. Corp. of Cheshire. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Joyce Spiess, Sandra Sczmalc, Barbara Krochalis, a step-daughter, Nancy Lee Goss, two grandsons, Peter and Glenn Oravec and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Oravec. He was predeceased by a son, Francis E. Barth, a sister, Marion Noreika and a brother, Edward Barth.
Memorial service Sat., June 7 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. The Rev. Estelle Webb will officiate.
