In Hamden, July 22, 2004, Walter (Pep) Christian Pethick aged 90. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY on September 16, 1913, a son of the late William and Louise Dibbern Pethick. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn (Evie), son Richard (Dick), and brothers Albert and William Pethick. All who knew him were touched by his kindness and selflessness. Walter is survived by his daughters, Patricia and her husband Charles D'Agostino of North Haven, Lynn Centrone of Florida, and his daughter-in-law, Catherine Pethick of East Haven, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Walter was co-owner of Tom & Walter's Meat Market in Madison and worked for the Guilford Food Center for several years. He loved the Yankees and as a young man, played semi-pro football for the Lenox AC in New Haven. He continued to enjoy sports through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended their football, baseball, soccer, and hockey games and dance recitals. He will be remembered for his generosity and encouragement after each event. Special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care; Roseann Corning, Patty Paige, Boise Gibson, Joyce Yeske, Fran, Joe, Dennis, Rose and all who have helped during this trying time, many thanks with love and gratitude.
Funeral service Sat., July 24 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call Friday (TODAY), from 5 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Hospice and Palliative Care, 33 North Plains, Wallingford, CT 06492.

In Hartford, July 24, 2004, Edward W. Greim, husband of Patricia Bodin Greim of 133 North Hill Rd., North Haven. Mr. Greim was born in New Haven, January 27, 1944 son of the late George and Margarite Rocklott Greim. He was the District Manager of Saab Cars, USA, Meriden and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Saint John by the Sea Church, Wst Haven. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Bartlett of Westbrook and a son, Edward A. Greim of North Haven, a sister, Darlene Gulino of CA and brothers, George R. Greim of West Palm Beach, FL and William Greim of Guilford. Also survived by 4 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Gary Lee Greim.
Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St. West Haven, Tuesday morning July 27th at 9:30. A Service will be held at Saint John by the Sea Church, 546 Ocean Ave., West Haven at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. MERIDEN - Lillian Maskrey, 88, formerly of 207 Main St., South Meriden, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Windham Hospital in Willimantic. Born in Shelton, CT on Sept. 11, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Hannah Didsbury Maskrey. She was a high school graduate and until her retirement had been employed as a secretary at International Silver Company. She was an active member of South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church, a choir member and longtime Sunday School teacher. Also, she was an avid pianist. She is survived by a niece, Carol Salonia and her husband Joseph and their children, Jessica, James, Alysia and Joseph Salonia, all of Ashford, CT; a niece, Ruth Hunter and her husband Allan and their daughter, Beth Hunter, all of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph E. Maskrey and a sister, Margaret M. Stevens.
The funeral will be held Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church, 145 Main St., South Meriden. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.

Rita M. Hanson, 80, of 38 Tokoneke Dr., Meriden, passed away at her home Friday, July 9, 2004. She was the wife of Claude Hanson. Born in Baltimore, MD, Oct. 26, 1923, daughter of the late James and Mary Schultz Szymonowski. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Saint Rose Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane Garstka and husband, Michael Garstka of Meriden sons, Ronald Hanson and wife Sandra Hanson of Somers, CT, Gary Hanson and wife, Christina Hanson of Andover, CT and David Hanson and wife, Tracy Hanson of Meriden and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Hanson of Meriden, brothers, James Szymonowski of Aberdeen, MD and Frank Szymonowski and wife, Helen Szymonowski of Rosedale, MD. Also survived by grandchildren, Kevin Hanson and wife, Roberta, Michael, and Peter Hanson and Joseph Garstka and a great-grandaughter, Elena Hanson. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Hanson and two brothers, Walter and Albert Szymonowski. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Wed., July 14th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Isaac, O .F. M. of Saint Rose Church officiating. MERIDEN - Raymond Adam Wollenberg, Sr., 67, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara Piontek Wollenberg. Born in Meriden Feb. 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Adam and Adolfine Renn Wollenberg. He was a dedicated milkman for Sievert's, Greenbackers' and Guida's Dairies and his customers looked forward to his friendly demeanor each day for forty-five years. He was a sports enthusiast and fisherman and had loved the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He greatly loved his family and friends and besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Ann and Timothy Parrett of Meriden; two sons, Raymond Wollenberg, Jr. of Bristol and Todd Wollenberg of Meriden; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Tozier of Meriden and Marilyn and Walter Kronenberger of Meriden; a brother, Richard Wollenberg of Meriden; a sister-in-law, Helen Wollenberg of Port Charlotte, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Wilfried Wollenberger.
Funeral service Friday, July 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

Born in New Haven, June 28, 1941, a son of the late Arvin A. and Walborg Gustafson Anderson. Karl was a stockbroker with Ryan, Beck and Co. He was a lifelong member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and had been an active leader of numerous committees and served on the Church Council. Karl graduated from Hamden High School in 1959 and was a member of the Class of 1963 at Princeton University. He was Hamden resident for many years and moved to Branford in 1993. Beside his wife Maureen, he is survived by a son: Paul G. Anderson and his wife, Nancy of Hamden, a brother, Arvin Anderson of West Charleston, VT, a granddaughter, Lauren Anderson and his best friend, Michael J. Toomey of Westboro, MA.

Wallingford - David F. Morgan, 90, husband of the late Grace Montgomery Morgan passed away Thurs., July 8, 2004 in the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center. He was born in Reading, PA, June 8, 1914 a son of the late David W. and Edna Lindenmuth Morgan and had resided in North Haven for 36 years before moving to Wallingford in 1998. He served in the US Army during WW II, and was employed by the New Haven Water Co. for over 40 years prior to retiring in 1979. Mr. Morgan was a member of Adelphi-Momauguin Lodge # 63 A.F. & A. M. and a former member of the Grand Ave. Congregational Church. Father of Gayle Morgan Collazo of Hartford, grandfather of Michelle Pearsall Cratty of Wallingford, great-grandfather of Taylor & Michael Pearsall and Ryan Cratty and brother of William R. Morgan of New Haven.
Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Mon., July 12 from 6-8 p.m. Masonic Service by Adelphi Momauguin Lodge # 63 will be at 8 p.m. followed by a prayer service Officiated by Rev. Meriden - Florence W. Schuster, 86, wife of the late Myron H. Schuster, Jr, passed away Friday July 9, with her family by her side. A devoted wife, mother and friend, she will be missed by all. She was born in Meriden Nov. 25, 1917 a daughter of the late Charles and Ida Olson Wessman and resided in Meriden all of her life. She is survived by two sons, Neil D. Schuster and his wife Nancy, of Saco ME, J. Mark Schuster of Cambridge, MA, two grandchildren, Luc Davidson Schuster & Leigh Davidson Schuster both of Cambridge, MA and a sister-in-law, Edith Schuster of Meriden. Mrs. Schuster was well known for her cake decorating skills as well as writing poems for special occasions, she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, also a member of the former Liberty St. Baptist Church and the Grace Baptist Church of Meriden. In her earlier years she was a teller at the City Savings Bank of Meriden. Florence was a 67 year member of VASA District Lodge # 1.
Memorial Service Wednesday July 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the fall in the Arms Cemetery, Wessman Family Plot, Shelburne Falls, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. In New Haven, Dec. 28, 2004, John S. Beecher, 82, of 75 Washington Ave., Hamden. Son of the late David and Kathleen Stanford Beecher, he was born in New Haven on July 9, 1922. Mr. Beecher is survived by two sisters, Mary Hague and Kathleen Maloney of Hamden, two nieces, Jo-Ann Barone and Kathy DePodesta, three nephews, Jack Hague, Edward Maloney and Richard Maloney and several great - Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harriet Kirby and Joseph Kirby. With Seamless Rubber, he worked as an accountant and then worked as a toll taker for the State of Connecticut. He belonged to the Men's Club at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was a US Army veteran of WW II.

Pauline Traver Ahearn, 91, of West Haven, passed away at home Sun., April 10, 2005, wife of the late Francis Ahearn. She was born in New Haven, June 18, 1913 daughter of the late Griffin and Marena Killmer Traver. Mrs Ahearn was a longtime member of Christ Church, West Haven and a volunteer at the church thrift shop. She was an LPN at the former Cove Manor Convalescent Home for 15 years and the former Arterburn Convalescent Home for 5 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by a daughter, Marena Mulrain of West Haven.

He was a maintenance worker for Railroad Salvage of West Haven and prior to that worked for the former Armstrong Rubber Co. Mr Acker served in the U.S. Navy durning WWII, and was a life long resident of West Haven.
