Ashby, Louise Finney

Louise (Finney) Ashby, 95, of Wyoming passed away on September 26, 2014.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday morning, October 3, 2014 at Second Baptist Church, 407 W. Loockerman Street, Dover, DE 19904. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private.

Johnson, Lillian Turk Rigby

Lillian Turk Rigby Johnson of Dover passed away October 2, 2014 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77.

Turk was born on August 17, 1937 in Hazlettville, Delaware, daughter of the late Felix and May (McClements) Rigby.

During her working career Turk had worked for Lead's Manufacturing and retired from Playtex Dover. She also was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harris A. Johnson and siblings Daisy “Sweetie” Glanden, Beatrice Kemp, Roland Rigby, Reese Rigby, Thomas Rigby, Reds Rigby, Linwood Rigby and Lola Sapp.

Turk is survived by her brother Grover Rigby of Marydel and her sister Elizabeth "Libby" Rigby Hebert of Dover, nieces, nephews, and an extended family of friends and close friend Pat Menendez.

Service will be 12 noon Tuesday, October 7 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where visitation will be one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

James Randolph "Randy" Bellamy, Sr.

James Randolph "Randy" Bellamy, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2014. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the late Homer and Cecile Bellamy. He was 76 years old. Randy was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan.

Randy proudly served his country in the United States Navy, beginning his career as a Parachute Rigger, until accepting special duty assignments as a recruiter and instructor. He was a man of honor and valor, and made sure to instill these traits in his son, Jim.

After 30 years of dedicated service, Randy retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, from Naval Air Station Oceana, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling all over, and playing golf. He was known for his favorite saying, "Have fun… will travel." And that he did. He spent time between his two homes in Dover, Delaware and Summerfield, Florida.

Randy was a member of several organizations, including the American Legion, VFW, Modern Maturity Center, and his second home, the Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club. Above all, he cherished spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.

Randy leaves behind his son, Jim and his wife Tracy; granddaughter, his darling Grace; his loving companion, Sally; and all the friends who touched his life throughout the years.

Services are private and will be held at a later date. Randy will be laid to rest at Colonial Grove Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Paull, Philip Alan

Philip Alan Paull, 30, of Dover passed away on September 27, 2014.

Philip is survived by his son, Michael Paull; three stepchildren: Emily Merillo, Madeline Pritchard and Chloe Taitlse; his mother, Donna Startt of Dover; his step father, Leonard Startt of Dover; his father, Michael King and his wife of Lincoln; three brothers: Michael King, Jr., Jeff Rose and Anthone King; and two sisters: Tabitha Lowery and Jessica Paull. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Paull.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday morning, October 3, 2014 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.

Baer, Nancy Lynne

CAMDEN- Nancy Lynne Baer, 51, of Camden, DE, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at home.

Born, October 12, 1955 in Springfield, Pa., Ms. Baer resided most of her life in Riddlewood, Media, Pa. before moving to Camden, DE, 2 years ago.

Ms. Baer was a graduate of Penncrest High School, Class of 1973, and received her B.S. and B.A. Degrees in English from West Chester University, West Chester, Pa., and had attended Villanova University in Pursuit of her Masters Degree in English & Psychology.

Nancy had taught in the Landsdale, Pa. area for many years, and after moving to Delaware had been teaching at Sussex Central, in Millsboro, and was a substitute teacher in the Dover and Caesar Rodney School Districts.

Nancy enjoyed playing the piano and doing crossword puzzles.

She was predeceased by her brother- William C. Baer

Nancy is survived by her parents- William & Mildred ( Shivery) Baer, of Camden, DE ;

Her sister- Sandra J. Stanton, of Marietta, Ga. ; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 27, 2007 at 1:00 pm, in the Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pa.

Sweeney, Jr., George L.

Navy

George L. Sweeney, Jr.of Dover passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Heartland Hospice, Wilmington, with his loving family by his side. He was 81.

George was born on September 16, 1933 in Latrobe, PA, son of the late Rose (Hodczak) and George L. Sweeney, Sr.

He served in the United States Navy in the early 1950's on the USS Shea, a Destroyer Minelayer. Mr. Sweeney worked for 15 years as a Production Foreman for the Delaware State News, then retired in 1988 from the Kent County Vo-Tech School District after 18 years as the Printing and Photography teacher. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports teams, but spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Dodd Sweeney of Lewes; children Cheryl and her husband Tom Carter of Felton, Connie and her husband Randy Massey of Oxford, PA, Bonnie and her husband Tim Rincon of Crestview, FL, Jody and his wife Crystal of Wyoming, Kenneth and his wife Dana of Dover; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment with military honors will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. A fellowship will follow the service in the Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice, 261 Chapman Rd., Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702, or Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE 19904.

Hollingsworth, James William

James William Hollingsworth, 79, of Magnolia, Delaware passed away in his home on September 24, 2014. James was affectionately known by many as "Holly". He was born in De Moines, Iowa to the late Charles and Anne Hollingsworth. James was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and John; and his infant son.

James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, retiring as an Aircraft Electrician, and Repair Technician. James was a hard worker, and liked to stay busy, so he began a second career as a Corrections Officer for the State of Delaware, eventually retiring from that position as well. He remained close with his comrades from Dover AFB. They often enjoyed gathering for an early morning breakfast, and a round or two of golf. James was a simple man, with a great sense of humor. He liked watching NCIS, and old John Wayne movies. He loved his family above all, and cherished spending time with them.

James leaves behind Viola, his loving wife of 62 years; son, James and his wife, Lori Ann; daughter, Gayle; grandchildren, LaDawn, Veronica (Nathan), Jamie (Liam), and Ashley; great grandchildren, Jennifer, Ritchie, Bradley, and Jacob; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 pm, on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware 19934, where friends may gather one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Delaware.
