Willey, Leon Ray

Marines

Leon Ray Willey passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 71.

Leon was born on February 24, 1942 in Seaford, Delaware, son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Hastings) Willey.

He worked for the E.I. DuPont De Nemours Company.

Leon enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and caring for his three dogs.

He is preceded in death by three siblings Albert Willey, Doris Lane and Nelson Willey.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Elsie Willey, two sons Patrick Willey of Bridgeville and Martin Willey and his wife Amy of Harrington, grandchildren Melody Shorthall and her husband Joshua of Easton, MD, Brandy Willey of Easton, MD, Ethan Willey and Dalton Willey both of Harrington, a great granddaughter Madalynn Shorthall, siblings Elmon Taylor of Georgetown, Constance Willey of Laurel, Byron Willey of Delmar, Thomas Willey of Delmar, John Willey of Seaford and Marie Travis of Delmar.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 22699 Bridgeville Hwy., Seaford.

Burial will be private in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Church of God of Prophecy, 7055 W. Line Rd., Delmar, DE19940.

Patts, Stephanie

Stephanie Patts, 81, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Biedual.

She was a homemaker. A loving, giving, beautiful person, she enjoyed family outings and cooking Sunday dinners every week. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas F. Patts, her son, Thomas J. Patts and sister Ann Paycheck.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters; Sharon Blessing of Newark, Susan Novak of Wilmington, Donna Reed (Andy) of Townsend, and Stephanie Patts of Wilmington, grandchildren; Mark, Steven, Jaime, Corey, Tara, and Lana, and a great granddaughter, Lacie.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 8, 11:00 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Calling hours will be after 10 AM in church. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Webber Ross, Betty Lee

Betty Lee Webber Ross, 73, Dover, passed away Friday May 03, 2013 at KGH Bay Health Dover Dover.

She was born on October 05, 1939 in Dover, DE to the late Carlton Benjamin and Lillie Mae Pearson Webber.

Betty worked for the Diamond State Telephone Co. for 35 years and All First Credit Card Bank for 5 years. She is preceded in death by a nephew Gary Wiley, brothers in law John M. Halfen, Sr. and Ray Ealloway..

She is survived by her Husband of 55 years, James H. Ross, Jr. of Dover, DE. Sisters, Thelma Alexander and husband Jim, brother William Webber and wife Joyce, Sisters in law Shirley Halfen, Barbara Calloway, Frances Gingerich and husband Enos, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Remembrance Services will be held Thursday 05/09/2013 12 noon at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE

Friends may also call Thursday one hour before the time of the service at Trader Funeral Home in Dover.

Stevenson, John J.

Age 65, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Wilmington Hospital.

Born in Wilmington, John was the son of the late Ellen R. (Walling) and John J. Stevenson, Sr. He was a mail carrier for 40 years until his recent retirement. In previous years, he worked at Buckley's tavern where he earned the nickname "Stats" for his sports trivia knowledge. He also was a part time DJ, performing at Buckley's and other area events. A fan of all sports, John especially enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox.

He will be dearly missed by her daughter, Deanna Stevenson, his granddaughters, Alexa and Julia Rosenblatt, his brothers, James R. and Richard M. Stevenson, his sister-in-law, Tina Ciccone, and seven nieces and nephews. His former spouse and dear friend, Rose Ciccone, predeceased him

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 9th at 11 AM at Christ Our King Church, 28th and Madison Streets, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Special Olympics, 619 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19716.

Harris, Larry

Larry Dornell Harris was born on June 24, 1956 and went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2013.

Henry and Marian Harris were joined in holy matrimony and from that union three children were born Larry D. Harris, Lisa D. Deputy (Thomas) and Lynette D. Todd (Pierre). Larry accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE.

Larry was an avid fisherman and chess player who enjoyed gardening and was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a loyal supporter and volunteer at the House of Pride where he worked diligently to support the Men of the House of Pride in their recovery. He assumed the roles of Property, Financial and Food Distribution Manager for the House of Pride and supervised the work assignments for the men. His support and valued service will be greatly missed.

Larry's smile and laugh was contagious and made you want to share in his love for fun. He loved to tease and joke with friends and family. Larry could always be found helping someone out and was always willing to lend a hand in a time of need. Even in death Larry was a gift of life donor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Ebonie J. Robinson, LaNaih Lewis, La Ray Harris, two sons, Nigel Sykes and Larry Harris Jr., one grandson, Kamarii J. Boyd, his mother Marian Harris, two sisters, Lisa Deputy (Thomas) Smyrna, DE, Lynette Todd (Pierre) Washington D.C., two nieces, Naomi Todd and Lisa Davis (Mondoe), three nephews, Gary Kennedy (Nicole), Myland Todd, Pierre Todd Jr., and a host of relatives and friends.

Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 11 at First Pilgrim Baptist Church in Camden, DE where viewing will be two hours earlier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House of Pride, 105 S. New Street, Dover, DE 19904.

The family request that the attire for the services be colorful, this is a celebration of life.

Case, Jr., William M.

William M. Case, Jr. passed away April 16, 2013 in his home.

William is survived by his father William Case, stepmother Georgeanna Shumaker, two sisters Jeannie Chilcoate (Warren), Vicki Herring, a brother Christopher Case, aunt Marge Taylor, two nephews Jason Case (Brandi) Brian Kenny, a niece Alicia Kenny.

A gathering of remembrance will be 6-7:00 pm Tuesday, April 30 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

KiYon Tovaye Ian George Henderson

KiYon Tovaye Ian George Henderson came into this world January, 14, 1988 in Swindon, England to Johnny and Bernice Henderson, and returned to the Lord on May 3, 2013 in Dover, DE. He graduated from Dover High School and developed many close friendships while there. He was 25 years old.

KiYon was a loving caregiver to his mother for many years and we will be forever grateful for his devotion to her. He loved football and especially the Philadelphia Eagles, and was a loyal fan… you would have thought he was a member of the team due to his enthusiasm. He also loved playing the sport himself, and rooting for the Oregon Ducks and the Dallas Mavericks. He loved to dance and loved to laugh… his laugh will be missed.

KiYon is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lou Ellen Waits and paternal grandfather George Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents - Johnny and Bernice Henderson, his sisters - Sharon Biles, Kimberly Henderson and Shemara Henderson, his beloved nieces, Taylor Biles and Liya Alford, his grandmother, Minnie Henderson and his entire extended family including aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be remembered by his very close friends and all who were blessed to know him as a gentle giant with a mile wide smile.

KiYon is being taken home to Alabama to rest amongst his extended family. Services will be held Saturday, May 11th in Montgomery. A memorial service for KiYon will be held on Sunday, May 12th at Bethuel Seventh Day Adventist Church 25 Queen St Dover De. At 4:30 pm.
