Michael Anthony Cefaratti
Age 46, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 22, 2010 surrounded by his family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was the son of the late Anthony J. and Anna F. (Gentile) Cefaratti. He was a graduate of Temple University and received his PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. Michael served as Technology Director at J. P. Morgan Chase, where he worked for 11 years, and was a member of St. John the Beloved Church. Michael loved travelling, fishing and boating, especially in Canada at the family cottage. He was an avid Flyers fan and enjoyed playing hockey and ice skating. Michael enjoyed getting involved in house projects and had a special affinity for sports cars.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 15 years, Shelli (Mills) Cefaratti; his daughters, Kayla and Morgan; his brother, Joseph Anthony Cefaratti and his wife, Barbara of Conshohocken, PA; and his sister, Janice M. Rota and her husband, Salvatore, of Williamstown, NJ. Also surviving are his father- and mother-in-law, John and Linda Mills of Newark, DE; a brother-in-law, David Mills and his wife Dawn of Richboro, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 27th, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington where friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday evening between 5 and 8 PM. There will be no morning visitation on Friday. Interment will follow Mass at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Virginia D. Wenzel
Age 83, of Wilmington, DE and Lehigh Acres, FL passed away peacefully in Sterling House on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Born in Germantown, PA, Virginia was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Frances (Stewart) Dykins. She worked at I.N.A. for 25 years and then retired from the DuPont Company as a personnel clerk in 1980 after five years of service. She enjoyed going to Delaware Park.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Charles M. Wenzel; her sister, Gloria Heins of Lancaster, PA; her nephew, David Heins and her niece, Jane Heins Wenger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4th at 11 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
Catherine M. Semonelle (DePrisco)
Age 88, of Christiana, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 26, 2010 surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Catherine was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Heisler) DePrisco. She was predeceased by her husband, Gennaro Semonelle; three sons, Eugene, Nicholas and Anthony Semonelle.
She will be missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Francis Casey of Bear, Catherine and Robert Conaway of Newark, Lisa and Stephen Snyder with whom she lived, and Ann and Dennis Loose of Wilmington; 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
The family wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their professional and kindhearted care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 30th at 11:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, where friends are invited to visitation after 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Dr. Robert E. Toner MD
1929 - 2010
Dr. Toner passed away peacefully Saturday, May 8th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81. He fought a long courageous battle against heart disease.
Dr. Toner was born in Johnson City, NY. He was the son of the late Albert A. and Margret P. (Norton) Toner. Dr. Toner joined the Navy in 1951.
He then graduated from St. Bonaventure University and went on to medical school at The National University of Ireland, University College of Galway. It was there he met his loving wife, Patricia Mack-Toner. They married in Manchester, England in August of 1960 and moved to the United States. He completed his residency here in Delaware and began his OBGYN private practice in 1963. His greatest joy was bringing new life into the world. In 1980 he retired from private practice and worked at Dupont Louviers as a General Practitioner until 1990 when he retired from medicine.
Dr. Toner spent his retirement enjoying life with his family and grandchildren.
He will always be remembered for his devout religious beliefs and as an exceptionally caring, giving, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Mark, in 1998 and his wife, Patricia, in 2005.
He will be greatly missed by his son Michael E. Toner, his daughter, Cathy E. Toner and his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Bill Gioffre, as well as his grandchildren Rachel and Colin Toner and Will and Alex Gioffre.
He is survived by his brothers Joe and Tom Toner and his sisters Shirley, Beverly and Carol Toner. He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Jerry, and John.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his amazing caretaker Elizabeth Rasin from Home Instead Senior Care.

Mildred E. Bauer
Age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Regency Healthcare Center.
Born in Freeland, PA, Mildred was the daughter of the late George and Mable (Carter) Deisenroth. She was a member of Middletown Senior Center. Her husband, Harold Bauer, and her son, Robert Bauer, predeceased her. She married and raised her three children in Allentown, PA. She lived in San Diego, CA from 1968 to 1992. She moved to Newark, DE, in 1992.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph and his wife, Judy, of Kettle Falls, WA and Richard and his wife, Rosemarie of Middletown, DE; her sister, Lamay Sensenbach of White Haven, PA; two brothers, Melvin and Milton Deisenroth of Allentown, PA; her daughter-in-law, Maria Bingham of Millsboro, DE; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Regency Healthcare Center for their compassionate and professional care.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 10:30 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington where visitation will begin after 9:30 AM Interment will follow at 2 PM at Grandview Cemetery in Allentown, PA.
Rogers, Edward Wilmore
Edward Wilmore Rogers "Snooky", 86, of Kennett Square, PA died peacefully at Christiana Hospital on May 8, 2010 after a long illness.
He was born in Georgetown, DE, the son of the late Edward W. and Bertie Ellingsworth Rogers. Ed was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the 1st Provincial Artillery Brigade as a radio operator in the South Pacific. After the war, he worked as an electrician for McHugh Electric Company for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 313 and he was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying collegiate and professional football. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Newlin Rogers in 1997; his son, Stephen Edward Rogers in 2009; his brother, Henry Rogers and his two sisters, Marguerite Hill and Doris Taylor.
He is survived by his sons, John Alan Rogers and his wife Bonny of Pike Creek and Mark Dallas Rogers and his wife, Karen of Avondale, PA; his daughter, Cynthia Haigh and her husband, Roger, of Landenberg, PA; his seven grandchildren, Jillian, Timothy, Shannon, Rachel, Jennifer, Daniel and Krista and his great-granddaughter, Reagan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads at 12 Noon, where friends may call after 11 AM. Burial will be private. O'Brien, William Edward
William Edward O'Brien, 81, of Centerville, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 7, 2010.
Bill was born in Brookport, IL, the son of the late John Lee O'Brien and Margaret Souders O'Brien. In 1950 he came to Wilmington as an employee of Bethlehem Steel and worked on the first span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. He founded Falcon Steel Co. in 1965, and over the next 45 years, Falcon Steel Co. along with Helmark Steel, Inc. founded by Bill's wife, Helen O'Brien, in 1969, became one of the nation's leading fabricators and erectors of structural steel-a true testament to their success.
Among the more notable projects in the Falcon/Helmark joint portfolio are the Chase Manhattan Building, the Hercules Building and the Bracebridge Projects in Wilmington; the Kimmel Performing Arts Center, the Bell Atlantic Tower and Liberty II Tower in Philadelphia; and the 7 World Trade Center, the Museum of Modern Art and the Jet Blue Airlines Terminal in New York.
Bill is survived by his wife Helen (Rybienski) with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage; his son, John E. O'Brien; his grandchildren, Liam and Maura O'Brien and extended family and friends.
Bill will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his commitment to his company and its employees. Bill was extremely active at Falcon Steel and still worked every day at the time of his passing. He was a model example of the American entrepreneurial spirit and the success that can result with hard work and determination. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be truly missed.
Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads on Friday afternoon from 3 to 5 PM. Services will begin at 4 PM. Burial will be private.
