King, Nathan "Nay"

Air Force

Nathan "Nay" King of Dover passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at home. He was 57.

Nay was born on October 21, 1953 in Opp, Alabama.

He served his country proudly in the USAF for 21 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Nay will be remembered as a people person.

He is preceded in death by his father R.G. King.

Nay is survived by his mother Henery Elma King of Opp, AL, wife Francine (Whyte) King, two sons Nathan King II and his wife Jenell of Wilmington, Jonathan King of Wilmington, step daughter Nichelle Harvey of Columbus, OH, paternal grandmother Ines Lee of Opp, AL, brother Cloy King and his wife Laynora of Auburn, GA, two sisters Debra King and her husband Nicholas of Stamford, CT and Cachina King of Winterhaven, FL and a host of family and friends.

Service will be 11:30 am Monday, November 29 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Yancy, Dorothy Pauline

Dorothy Pauline Yancy of Dover died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 81.

Mrs. Yancy was born in Norwalk, Iowa on April 18, 1921 to the late Robert Benjamin Hadley and Jennie Wyatt Hadley. She moved to Dover with her family in 1958.

She was a homemaker and also a seamstress.

Mrs. Yancy was a member of the People's United Church of Christ, Dover.

She is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Theao 'Ted' Yancy of Dover; three sons, Dennis C. Yancy of Waldorf, MD, Martin T. Yancy and his wife Nancy of Garland, Texas, and Kipling T. Yancy and his wife Linda of Dover; a brother, Wayne Hadley of Redondo Beach CA; and three grandchildren, Colleen Yancy of Garland, TX, Jason Clarke of Dover and Paige Yancy of Dover.

Memorial Services will be held 1pm Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the People's United Church of Christ, 46 S. Bradford St., Dover.

Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forest Ave., Dover, DE 19904.

Wood, Daniel B.

Daniel B. Wood, 55, of Dover passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.

Daniel was born on April 16, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware.

He received his RN degree in nursing from Delaware Technical College and had worked at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna.

Daniel hobbies included the outdoors and fishing. His pets were an important part of his life. He had a devotion to his dog Karma and enjoyed showing her at dog shows. Two of his favorite cats were Lucy and Sienna.

He is preceded in death by his father R. C. Wood, Jr.

Daniel is survived by his mother Pauline Wood of Magnolia, a sister D. Lynette Palen of Lewes, niece Lesly Kababik of Townsend, a nephew Robert E. Ergenzinger of Austin, TX and grandnephews Casey and Keith Ergenzinger, Kie and Kaleb Kababik.

In Dan's birth family he was preceded in death by a sister Mary (Joy) Blakely. He is survived by birth family, siblings X. Isom Edwards, James Edwards, Norman Beck, Deborah Whitehead and Beth Irwin.

A gathering in remembrance will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 27, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Rieger, Benjamin J.

Benjamin J. Rieger, 29, and Nathaniel Hughes, 11, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on December 21, 1980, in Hawaii.

Benjamin was self employed as a framing contractor. He loved to laugh and his laughter would shine through to others. He treasured his special time with his father and brother on fishing trips and family time at the holidays. He especially loved his aunts and uncles in New Jersey. He took pride in being a good father and had an unconditional love for his sons and family. The family is thankful for being Christians, knowing God will get them through this tough time.

He is survived by his parents Richard L. Rieger, Sr. and Michaela Rieger of Felton, a brother Army Sgt. Richard l. Rieger, Jr. of Korea, two sisters Brooke L. Rieger of Harrington and Brittany M. Rieger of Felton, a son Gavin D. Rieger of Harrington, maternal grandmother Margaret H. Tighe of NJ and his special companion Amber Thompson of Felton, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nathaniel was born on October 5, 2010 in Camp Springs, Maryland

He was a 5th grader at Lake Forest Central Elementary School. He was an honor student and beginning this year started to play the clarinet. Nathaniel will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and his love of laughter. His greatest joy was spending time with family He also enjoyed playing soccer and talking on the phone.

Nathaniel is survived by his mother Jennifer Hughes of Bowers Beach, paternal grandparents Richard and Michaela Rieger, maternal grandparents Caroline K. Hughes of Waldorf, MD and Roger T. Hughes of Mechanicsville, MD, and aunt Brittany with whom he had a special relation, Aunt Renee Nordstrom, Uncle john Nordstrom, cousins Kalli and Mina Nordstrom.

Calling hours will be 9-11 am Friday, November 5 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at the church. Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gavin D. Rieger Trust Fund, c/o Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934.

Ross, Victor A.

Marines

Victor A. Ross, 72, of Wyoming passed away on December 25, 2010 at St. David's Hospital, Georgetown, Texas from complications of pneumonia. He was born on December 18, 1938 in Hazlettville to Victor T. and Minnie B. Ross. He was a farmer in the Hazlettville area for 40 years. In addition, he worked 25 years for the Conrail Railroad.

Victor proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was currently the chaplain for the Central Delaware Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel where he played in the hand bell choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Ross.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann; two brothers and their wives, John and Betty Ross, Macon, GA, Charles and Jennette Ross, Nova Scotia, Canada; seven sisters and their husbands, Dorothy Myers, Titusville, PA, Kathleen Stutzman, Meadville, PA, Jean and Ronald Sandish, Oregon, OH, Joyce and Ronald Conner, Kernersville, NC, Rose Ann and Bobby Landers, Georgetown, TX, Nancy Ross, Newark, DE, Sandra Stump, Wyoming, DE; five godchildren, Meryle Lee Chadwick, Scott Clausius, Leanne Voshell, Jeremy Voshell, Erica VanVessen; and his extended family, Laura Voshell, Steven Voshell and Bryan Melvin. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Att: Carolyn Thomas, P.O. Box 307, Marydel, MD 21649.

Clarence Alza Woodall, 57

Woodside - Clarence Alza Woodall, of Woodside, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday December 7, 2010. He was born on August 4, 1953; the son of Ted and Effie Nichols. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, and her sister Connie Pickens; Clarence was the father of 8 children, and the Step-Father to three, as well, who included Michael, Wanda, and Jennifer Mahaffey; he was also a grandfather of three. Other survivors included his brother, Robert "Stretch" Knight, a sister, Helen Knight, and a very special cousin, Brenda Marchione and her husband Troy. He is also remembered by his pocket pal, Rufus, his dog.

He enjoyed collecting, Nascar, movies, the History channel, and traveling. He had also been a member of the local Moose Lodge. Services will be held at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming on Saturday Dec. 11, with a gathering from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, with services immediately following thereafter. Family request that In Lieu of Flowers donations are made to assist with funeral expenses.
