Blose Jr., Walter Lynn

Walter Lynn Blose Jr. - Retired Engineer

Walter Lynn Blose Jr., 73, of Smyrna, DE and formerly of Moylan, PA, was received by our LORD on Sunday April 18 at home with his family.

Born and raised in Barberton, Ohio, he graduated from the University of Akron School of Engineering. He retired from Sun Oil Refinery in Philadelphia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

His wife, Janice Blose, died in 1994.

He is survived by his mother, Ida Blose and a sister Norma Jodoin and husband Robert, all of Barberton, OH; two sons Jason Blose and wife Kim, of Smyrna, DE and Garrett Blose, of Dover, DE; a daughter, Candice Bull and husband Douglas, of Parkside, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Liam, Rachael, Austin, Shane, Andrew, and Michael.

Private Services will be held in Barberton, OH.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the U.S.O., 500 Purple Heart Way, Dover AFB, Delaware 19902.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.

Jennings, Robert W.

Robert W. Jennings, age 63, of Middletown, passed away January 9th 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. Growing up he played baseball for Willow Run Little League. At 18, he started work at GM Boxwood Road plant, and after 32 years of service he retired. He enjoyed playing pool at the VFW and the Moose Lodge where he was a long time member. He loved to hunt, fish, and he looked forward to going hunting and camping every year with his son and grandson at the start of deer season in his motor home. He liked country music and would sing and dance along with the radio. After his retirement he enjoyed working around the house and cutting grass on his 2-acre property. He also enjoyed having 5 o'clock somewhere with his wife and daughter. He was well liked by all of his friends and loved dearly by all his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was always very supportive of his family. He had a great sense of humor and made us all laugh right up to the day he passed. He will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert M. Jennings and his mother Dorothy M. Jennings. He is Survived by his Wife of 44 years, Diane E. Jennings, His son Robert W. Jennings Jr., and his girlfriend Marlene Wade, Daughter Bonnie L. Jennings, and her boyfriend Tom Merritt, and Seven Grandchildren, Justin A. Jennings, Kaitlyn E. Jennings, Jessica M. Jennings, Sarah N. Jennings, Ryan Merritt, David B. Wade, Hannah P. Wade, Sister Linda George, Nephew Raymond George, Brother in-law Robert L. Eskridge and his wife Ellen, Brother in-law Horace R Eskridge and his wife Deena.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday January 15 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.

Faulkner Jr., Nelson F.

Nelson F. Faulkner Jr., passed away on December 28, 2010. He was 74.

He was born and raised in Crumpton, MD, the son of the late Nelson and Evelyn Teat Faulkner.

He is survived by four children, Karen Piser; Kipp Faulkner; Debbie Biederman; and Neil Faulkner; a brother, James Faulkner; and nine grandchildren.

Services and interment will be privately held at Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, MD.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.

Fearn, Peter M.

Army

Peter M. Fearn, 74, of North Fort Myers, FL., formerly of Newark, DE, passed away November 12, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Brandy Marie, two sons; Wayne (Cheryl), and Kenneth (Ann) of Delaware; a grandson, Nicholas also of Delaware; two sisters, Pauline Martin and Hazel Lamaina both of New Jersey; three step-children, Jacqueline (George) Farley of Florida, Daniel Gray of West Virginia, and Ed Nesmith of Delaware . He is predeceased by his parents.

Mr. Fearn served in the Army Airborne 101st Division and 509 P I R. He became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1974. Mr. Fearn retired from General Motors assembly Division in Wilmington, Delaware in 1996. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, The Elks, and the Mooseheart Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a big Redskins fan.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Sunday, November 21st at the Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce Street, Smyrna, DE at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL. 33903.

Weber, A. Marianne

A. Marianne Weber, of Smyrna, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday March 11, 2010.

She was born in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of the late Frank Clark and Agnes (Mack) Clark.

She was employed as an executive secretary to the Director of Engineering of the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Elizabeth, NJ.

She was active in politics in New Jersey, twice being elected Secretary of the Union County Republican Committee. She moved to Dover, DE where she was a member of the Junior Board at KGH and was a gift shop buyer before moving to Newnan, GA in 1975.

She was a Pink Lady volunteer at Newnan Hospital and active in the Meals on Wheels program there. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and swimming as a member of the Newnan Country Club. She was active in the BVM Sodality of St. George R.C. Church before moving to Smyrna in 1980.

She became active in Delaware politics after working in the Vermont primary for the Pete DuPont campaign. She was elected president of the Kent County Republican Women's Club and subsequently as Secretary, Vice President, and then President of the Delaware State Federation of Republican Women's Clubs.

She was active in her church, St. Polycarp, in Smyrna, and was Secretary, Vice-Prefect and Prefect of the BVM Sodality. She was a member of the Columbiettes, the ladies auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was a member of the Modern Maturity Senior Center in Dover, and faithfully delivered Meals on Wheels on Wednesdays for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Frank P. Clark and Raymond R. Clark.

She is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Richard A. Weber; two sons and their wives, Richard R. and Diane Weber, of Berkeley Heights, NJ; and Robert A. and Melinda Weber, of Dover, DE; five grandchildren, Richard Z., Derek J., and Hollie Weber, of Berkeley Heights, NJ; and Clair and Olivia Weber, of Dover, DE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:15 AM Tuesday March 16 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Ransom Lane and South St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 10:00 AM in the parish hall.

Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Instead of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the building maintenance fund of St. Polycarp Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.

Wallace, Audra Jane Gorman

Audra Jane Gorman Wallace, of Smyrna, passed away on September 22, 2010 at Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 43.

She was born in Elkton, MD, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1985. She later graduated from DEL Tech as a registered nurse, and was employed for many years as a nurse at the Delaware Correctional Center, Smyrna.

She loved her cats, going to the beach, and her VW Beetle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wallace Sr., in 2009.

She is survived by her son Robert J. Wallace Jr., of Smyrna; her parents George and Betty Gorman, of Townsend; a brother, George W. Gorman II and wife Vicky, of Clayton; maternal grandmother, Virginia Reed, of North East, MD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday September 28 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Smyrna.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Robert J. Wallace to help defray his college expenses: C/O Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
