Sacckette, Martin J.

Martin J. 'Marty' Sacckette, age 50, of New Castle passed away at Christiana Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2002.

Mr. Sacckette was an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon (Morris) Sacckette, a brother, James A. Sacckette of Wilmington; two sisters, Veda Chambers and Jean Fitzpatrick, both of Newark; two nephews and three nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends may call after 12:30 PM. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Visitation will take place between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, and a funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

ANTHONY J. TAMPANELLO

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in the Christiana Hospital Medical Center.

Anthony was born and raised in the Little Italy section of Wilmington, son of the late Frank and Julia Tampanello.

Anthony retired from the I.B.E.W. Local Union 313 and received his 50 year pin in October 2006.

His passions included cooking for his family and friends. His specialty was Italian dishes. He also enjoyed horse racing, Phillies baseball, and animals; especially his two cats, Little Miss & April. Anthony was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone that needed him. He was predeceased by his sister Theresa Viscuglia, brothers Frank and Michael Tampanello.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara Fuller Tampanello, his son Anthony Jr. and his wife Diane, his two beautiful granddaughters Christie and Nicole who he absolutely adored, two step-grandsons, Christopher and Jason, his sister Mary Bromwell, his Mother and Father-in-law, Helen and Ernie Fuller, his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Linda Fuller, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Christiana Hospital staff of 5-E for their tremendous care and support, our neighbors who have been by our side, especially our dear and loving neighbor, Betty DiPietro who helped us through these trying times.

Per Anthony's request, burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to Faithful Friends, 12 Germany Drive, Wilmington, DE, or Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE.

Talley, Waynetta B.

Waynetta B. Talley, of Felton died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at home following a long fight with cancer. She was 56 years old.

Mrs. Talley was born August 26, 1947 in Gainesville, FL to Wayne and Alberta Bays. She moved to Delaware in 1974. She received a masters degree in teaching in 1999. Mrs. Talley was a teacher at Frederica East Elementary School for almost 15 years, and was a member of Christ Church in Milford. She received numerous awards during her tenure, including Teacher of the Year 1999-2000, Lead Mentor for District from 2000-2003, 3rd grade chairperson from 2001-2003 and was a member of DSEA State Membership Task Force Committee in 2000-2001.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Talley is survived by her husband of 34 years George Talley; two sons, Scott Talley and his wife Denise of Bear, and Gregory Talley of Newark; two brothers, Bruce Bays and his wife Denise of West Union, SC, and Brian Bays and his wife Julie of Annapolis, MD; and one grandson, Matthew Gilson of Felton.

A Memorial Service will be held 11am Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Milford.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 200 Church St. P.O. Box 191, Milford, DE 19963 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.

Tait, John Harry

John Harry Tait of Atlanta, GA, died May 12, 2008. Survived by sister Joanne Holbert & husband Ken; niece Katie & nephew Kenny. Services are private. STRANO & FEELEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME

Talley, Florence Bowe

Florence Bowe Talley of Dover died Tuesday November 23, 2004 in Westminster Village Nursing Center. She was 87.

Mrs. Talley was born December 21, 1916 in Rural Pottstown, Pennsylvania to the late George Bowe and Anna Nelson Bowe. She moved to Dover from Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania to Dover January 1994.

She was very proud of her Educational accomplishments, she graduated Summa Cum Lauda from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, with a BS in Biology and her Masters in Home Economics from Drexel University. She worked as a research chemist for Eastern Regional Research Laboratory. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover and Wesley Branches. She was also a member of Toastmasters International.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene A. Talley in September 1992, her daughter in law Waynetta Talley in March 2004 and her brother Frank Bowe in 1985.

She is survived by her son Lt. Col. George Talley of Felton; a daughter, Dr. Carol Talley Burger and her husband Mark of Greenville, SC; a sister in law Mary Jane Bowe and her daughter Denise of Pottstown, PA; four grandchildren, Scott and Greg Talley, Andrew and Kristen Baker.

Memorial service will be held 10AM Monday November 29, 2004 in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Wesley United Methodist Church 209 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Tadlock, Richard Daniel

Rick Tadlock was born on July 10, 1952, in Cabarrus County, NC to J.D. and Helen Tadlock. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Rick is one of five children; brothers, Eddie & Mike, and two sisters, Susan and Amy. He grew up in Kannapolis, NC and attended South Rowan High School.

Rick spent weekends meeting at his grandmothers. After attending North Kannaplis Wesleyan Church on Sundays the cousins would all gather there, and of course, a softball game would occur after a delicious meal.

Rick enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 and proudly served in Vietnam. After he was wounded he was honorably discharged and returned to North Carolina.

When Rick returned home, he worked at LOF in Mooresville. After that he made his move to Delaware in the early 80's to work at Johnson Controls. Rick had the opportunity to work in a variety of fields such as plastics from New York to Virginia, as well as being self-employed for several years.

During Rick's move to Delaware, he met his wife, Susie. He was soon blessed with three wonderful daughters, Ashley, Anna and Brooke. Rick also has an older daughter, Crystal, who lives in North Carolina, and two grandchildren, Andrew and Kamoora. Rick was a member of Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed fishing, and his time with his daughters.

Rick is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susie and his daughters, Ashley, Anna & Brooke. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Tadlock; his brothers, Eddie and Mike; and his sisters, Susan and Amy of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, J. D. Tadlock.

A memorial service in celebration of Rick's life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church, Rte 896, Bear, DE 19701 at 7 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 83, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Elizabeth S. "Bette" (Conway) Talmo

Age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Jeanne Jugan Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Born in Wilmington, Bette was the daughter of the late John M. Conway and Mary G. (Hutten) Conway, the youngest of nine children. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School in 1950 and attended the St. Francis School of Nursing. She worked as a bartender for the VFW Posts #615, 2863 and 3420, working the longest at the Atterbury Post. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking and reading in her spare time. Her son, John, predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David F. and Kathryn of Wilmington; her daughter-in-law, Shelly Talmo of Lewes; her stepson, Francis A. Talmo, of Rehoboth Beach; and three step grandchildren, Nikki, Jared and Josh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14th at 10:30 AM at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713 where friends may call on Friday evening between 5 and 7 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor.

Marshall, Sr., Frank W.

Marines

Frank W. Marshall, Sr., "Captain Peabody" of Leipsic, DE passed away on Friday July 2, 2010 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE with his sons at his bedside.

He was 75.

Mr. Marshall was born June 9, 1935 in Leipsic the son of the late James H. Marshall and Estella Killen Marshall.

He retired in 2000 as a mechanic for Carey's Diesel in Leipsic and was most recently employed as an "accountant" for the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 in Smyrna, DE. He also previously worked for the Electric Hose and Rubber Company in Wilmington, DE for 14 years.

He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp and was proud of his service.

Captain Peabody was a former commercial crabber who loved to fish and work on his boats. He took up radio controlled airplanes and helicopters recently and liked to build ship models. He was a Life Member of the Leipsic Fire Company and was an active member of the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 in Smyrna. He was a good mechanic who always had many friends come to him for help with car troubles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harry and Everett; and 5 sisters, Violet, Beatrice, Ida, Stella, and Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Frances M. Marshall; 2 sons, Frank W. Marshall, Jr. and his wife Yvonne of Clayton, DE and Faron W. Marshall, Sr. of Smyrna; a brother, Henry Marshall and his wife Julia of Leipsic; a sister, Alice Brown and her husband Tommy of Felton, DE; a brother-in-law, Mickey Lord and his wife Janet of Bellfonte, DE; a sister-in-law, Ruth Simmons and her daughter, Betty of Rehoboth, DE; 4 grandchildren, Daniel and his companion Desiree, Faron Jr., Brandon, and Christine; two great grandchildren, Destiny and Elijah; and his dog Milo who is considered to be his third son.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening, July 7, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, DE. Memorial Services will be offered at 7:30 pm.

Committal services will be held on Monday July 12, 2010 at 2 pm in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to American Legion Veterans Relief Fund, 107 W. Glenwood Avenue, Smyrna, DE 19977.
