Sage, Sr., Robert L.

Robert Louis Sage, Sr. of Hartly, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday October 15, 2008.

He was 70.

Mr. Sage was born March 15, 1938 in Bristol, Virginia the son of the late Giles C. and Alpha Sluder Sage.

He retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Newark, Delaware following 32 years of service.

His hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, crabbing and being around his family and his church.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Smyrna, Delaware.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sage had two sons who are also with the Lord, Robert L. Sage, Jr. and Billy Joe Sage.

Mr. Sage is survived by his wife, Gwenith Merix Sage; four daughters, Cathy L. Lynch of Bethany Beach, Delaware, Robin L. Jeffers of Graniteville, South Carolina, Wanda M. Foraker and Carol L. Jarrell both of St. Petersburg, Florida; a sister, Virginia Lewis of Kirkwood, Delaware; a brother, James C. Sage of Mountain City, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday October 20, 2008 at 1p.m. in Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn-Zion Road Smyrna, Delaware where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna, Delaware.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Inc., 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware.

Sacckette, Sharon L.

Sharon L. (Morris) Sacckette, age 52, of New Castle, DE passed away suddenly at Christiana Hospital on Tuesday, July 13, 2004.

Mrs. Sacckette worked in food service for over 30 years at Party Pizza. She graduated from Conrad High School and attended Goldey Beacom College. She was a longtime member of the Peniel United Methodist Church. Her husband, Martin Sacckette, predeceased her in 2002.

She is survived by her mother, Norma (Solomon) Morris of Wilmington; her sister, Kathy Morris of Wilmington; two brothers, Michael Morris of Wilmington and Christopher Morris and his wife, Lisa, of Bear; and a niece and nephew, Julia and Christopher.

Visitation will be held on Sunday evening between 6 PM and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11 AM at the Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 East Market Street, Newport. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to American Kidney Foundation, 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 725, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Sabo, Eleanor Boggs

Eleanor Boggs Sabo, 88, Dover, passed away Saturday September 20, 2008 at KGH Bay Health Dover.

She was born on March 13, 1920 in Dover, DE to the late Newell and Sadie Cooke Boggs.

She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Freeland, PA and the Dover Modern Maturity where she enjoyed playing pinochle. She was a book keeper for the A & P Company. She just celebrated her 70th class reunion from Caesar Rodney High School. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond G. Sabo and sister Sophia Gill.

She is survived by Son and his wife, James E. and Mary Ann Brunke of Dagsboro, DE. Grandson and his wife, James E. and Rachell Brunke, III, Grandson and his wife, Jonathan and Karen Brunke, Great Granddaughter, Diane Brunke, Great Granddaughter, Anna Brunke, Great Granddaughter, Natalia Brunke.

Burial and graveside Services will be held Thursday 09/25/2008 11:00 AM at the St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church Cem. Freeland, PA

The family request that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church 335 Washington Street Freeland, PA 18224

James P. Saienni

Age 24, died suddenly on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at his residence.

Jimmy was a cook and most recently worked at Tom Foolery's and Applebee's in Middletown.

He graduated from St. Thomas Elementary School where he served as an altar boy and played soccer. He also played Little League Baseball.

Jimmy was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards. He also loved to skateboard.

Jim is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Potts and sister, Theresa Kempczynski with whom he lived; his brother, Martin Saienni; his sister, Christine Conaway; his stepfather, Michael A. Kempczynski; his Uncle John and Aunt Mary; and his many cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas R. C. Church, 4th & Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington on Friday morning, January 18th at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy. on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.

Safran, Esther Lee

WILMINGTON - Esther Lee Safran, age 92, a longtime resident of Penny Hill, passed away July 15, 2006, at her son's home in Fernley, Nevada.

She was born on October 11, 1913 in Delmar, Delaware, to Herbert and Lolita Waller.

She was a graduate of Delmar High School and attended nurses training. She was later employed by the Dupont Company in Wilmington until the birth of her son in 1954. Since that time she has been a homemaker.

Mrs. Safran is survived by her son David Safran and his wife Sherry and a grandson, Seth, all of Fernley, Nevada; granddaughter Heather Hitchens of Wilmington and Faith Hitchens of Carson City, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Safran; a sister, Julia M. Arnold; and a brother, Herbert Waller.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Cemetery Park in Delmar. The Reverend Sam McWilliams will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association of Delaware, Inc, Sussex County Division, Suite 104, 600 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Sage, Jr., Robert L.

Robert L. Sage, Jr. of Bear, Delaware, passed away suddenly Monday January 28, 2008.

He was 45.

Mr. Sage was born March 6, 1962 in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Robert Sage, Sr. and Gwenith Merix Sage of Hartly, Delaware.

Mr. Sage worked as a self-employed maintenance man in the Newark, Delaware area for the last several years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Steven and Jonathan Sage both of Newark; four sisters, Cathy Lynn Lynch of Bethany Beach, Delaware, Robin Lee Jeffers of Graniteville, South Carolina, Wanda May Foraker and Carol Lorranie Jarrell both of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Services will be Monday February 4, 2008 at 1p.m. in Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn-Zion Road near Kenton, Delaware where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware.
