Pasquale J. Zampini

Age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, June 20, 2006.

Born in Italy, Mr. Zampini was the son of the late Andrew and Marie (Aldi) Zampini. He worked as an inspector for New Castle County for 16 years, retiring in 1978. He also worked for Hodgson Worsted Yarn Mill from 1930 to 1956. He was a kind and gentle man who took great pride in his lawn, garden, and flowers. His wife of 66 years, Elizabeth (Campanelli) Zampini, predeceased him in 2002. He was also predeceased by his son, Andrew Zampini in 1963 and his sisters, Anna Casapulla and Florence Casarino.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Frank Napoleon and Carol and John Caldwell; his brother, Andrew Zampini; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Krasnick; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place between 9 and 10 on Monday, June 26 at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Elizabeth Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Zalman, Mary B.

Mary B. Zalman, age 90, of Newark, DE died Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Newark Manor Nursing Home in Newark.

Mrs. Zalman, a homemaker, was born on October 20, 1911 in Hungary. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Emporia, VA. She was also active in the Lutheran Ladies League and an active gardener.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Z. Osborne of Newark; 3 grandchildren, Mary E. Osborne and Ann C. Osborne, both of Newark and Frances L. Osborne of Richmond, VA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Zalman, who passed away in 1983.

Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday Nov. 19th at St. John Lutheran Church, 1351 W. Atlantic St., Emporia, VA. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7 - 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 3035 Halifax Rd., Jarratt, VA. A devotional service will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, 1351 West Atlantic Street, Emporia, VA 23847 and/or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10 Johnson Road at Augusta, Chestnut Hill Estates, Newark, DE 19713.

Zamora, Rafael Vasquez

Rafael Vasquez Zamora, age 19, of Bear, DE, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Maria del Carmen Guadarrama, and loving family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home from 5-8 pm. A service in celebration of Rafael's life will be held at 7:30 pm. Burial will be held in Mexico at a later date.

Margaret (Antal) Zazzarino

Age 94, of Newark, DE, formerly of Newark, NJ, Largo, FL, and Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2008 at home.

Born in Passaic, NJ, Mrs. Zazzarino was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Ivanitz) Antal. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, in 1971, her son, Joseph, in 1949, and her siblings Joe Antal, Rae Antal, Kitty Marffie, and Rose Shannon.

She is survived by her children: Bob Zazzarino and wife Chris of No. Myrtle Beach, SC and Phoenix, AZ; Lucille Merritt and her husband Tom of Farmington, NY; Martha Zazzarino and her husband Garrett Colmorgen of Wilmington, and Alan Zazzarino of Fair Lawn, NJ; six grandchildren, Jen, Dan and wife Audra, and Meghan Zazzarino, Michael and David Merritt, and Elizabeth Colmorgen; great grandchildren, Gabriana and Giovanni Zazzarino; her god-daughters, Linda Marffie and Ann Marie McEvoy, and many friends, especially her best friend, Millie Colmorgen.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Little Sisters, staff, and residents of Jeanne Jugan for their loving care and support.

Services and Interment for Mrs. Zazzarino will be private.

Frank H. Zalewski

"Scoope"

August 28, 1921 to March 11, 2004

Age 82, of Newark, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 11, 2004 after a long illness with cancer and diabetes.

Mr. Zalewski retired from DuPont Stein & Haskell Laboratory on Elkton Road in 1980. Frank was a World War II Army veteran in the 31st Infantry Division where he was a combat medic in the Dixie Division and earned the Purple Heart. Frank also loved flying pigeons with his grandson, Robert F. Pierce, Jr. He belonged to the Newark Pigeon Club where his loft was named "Go For Broke." His wife, Rose Marie (Ciamaricone) Zalewski, predeceased him in August 1996.

He is survived his daughter, Carmella F. Pierce of Newark; two grandson, Robert F. Pierce, Jr. and his wife, Sonia Y. Pierce of Newark, and Anthony J. Pierce and his wife, Lisa E. Pierce of Newark; three great grandchildren, Amanda Ashley Pierce of Stanton, Christine Leah Pierce of Newark, and Robert Anthony Pierce of Newark; and his sister, Helen Dillon of Wilmington.

Friends are invited to visitation on Sunday, March 14th between 7 and 9 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 9 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Route 72, Bear. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home at PO Box 2866, Wilmington, DE 19805-0866 to defray the cost of funeral expenses.

Zacheis, Angel Danielle

Angel Danielle Zacheis of Clayton, Delaware, died at home Friday February 9, 2007.

She was 17.

Angel was born September 28, 1989 in Dover, Delaware, the daughter of Mona Zacheis with whom she lived and the late James A. Quinn.

She was in the 11th grade at Dover High School and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Smyrna, Delaware.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brandon Zacheis and her paternal grandfather, Donald Quinn.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Justin and Storm Zacheis both of Clayton; two sisters, Destiny Zacheis of Clayton and Kirsten Zacheis of Harrington, Delaware; her maternal grandmother, Louise Cole of Clayton and her maternal grandfather, Sonny Zacheis of Orlando, Florida.

Services will be Friday February 16, 2007 at 1PM in Grace Baptist Church, 127 South Union Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Dover, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Faries Funeral Home to defray burial expenses.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors, Inc., 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware.

Zakreski, Lois A.

Lois A. (Welsh) Zakreski Age 75 passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at her home in Claymont, DE.

She was born in Wilmington, DE September 7, 1927. She was the youngest daughter of the late William A. Welsh and Matilda (Koerner) Welsh. She was a 1945 graduate of Wilmington High School and a current member of Holy Rosary parish, where she helped with the parish outreach.

Lois is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joseph T. Zakreski, Sr.; her children, Maryanne Zakreski, SSJ of Bethlehem, PA, Joseph T. Zakreski, Jr. and his wife, Holly, of Elkton, MD, Paul Zakreski of Brigantine, NJ and Steven Zakreski and John Zakreski, both of Wilmington. Other survivors include grandchildren, Rachael (Zakreski) Juergens and Steven Zakreski, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Natalie Jo and Joseph Juergens. Lois is also survived by her sisters, Eleanor Lewis Sutherland and Audrey Eckert; as well as her brother, William A. Welsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon on Monday, June 30 at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Lancaster Ave., Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808; or to Holy Rosary Parish Outreach.
