William T. Wadkins

"Bill"

Of Milford, Delaware, died on Friday, January 1, 2010. He was 81.

Bill was born on June 16, 1928, in Milford, son of the late Robert J. and Elsie (Maloney) Wadkins.

He worked in the trucking industry for 48 years, beginning with the Masten Trucking Co., T.I.E., Red Star Express and lastly with T.N.T., retiring in 1994. Bill was a Million Mile safe driver recipient and a Delaware State Truck Driver Rodeo Champion many times.

Bill was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #9 A.F. & A.M., the Evergreen Forest #49 Tall Cedars of Lebanon and a Shriner. He was a York Rite and 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He enjoyed playing Santa and chatting with everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pearl Benson Wadkins; a son, William T. Wadkins, Jr. and his wife Emma; a daughter, Gaillyn Berry and her husband Kenneth and a grandson, Kyle Berry, all of Milford.

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where the family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. A Masonic service will begin at 11:45 a.m.

Interment will be held in the Milford Community Cemetery on North Walnut Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Milford Lions Service Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 25, Milford, DE, 19963 or to the Temple Lodge #9 Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 256, Milford, DE, 19963.

Wagner, Emma C.

DOVER - Emma C. Wagner of Dover, formerly of Dundalk, Maryland, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 in Westminster Health Center, Dover. She was 90.

Mrs. Wagner was born on June 5, 1914 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Glossner) Willis.

During World War II she had worked as a riveter for Western Electric. She was retired with 25 years service from Joseph E. Seagram & Sons Distillery in Dundalk, MD. She moved to Delaware in 1999.

Mrs. Wagner enjoyed bingo and crocheting.

She is preceded in death by her husband Maurice Wagner on June 23, 1979.

She is survived by a daughter Doris Vrhovac of Dover, a son Frank E. Wagner, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Moreland Memorial Park, Baltimore, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720-1633.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.

Wagner, Herbert T.

Herbert T. Wagner, age 50, of Eagleville, PA, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, February 7, 2005.

Mr. Wagner was born in Wilmington and graduated from Delcastle High School. For the last five years, he was a pharmaceutical stockman for Happy Harry's Inc.

He is survived by his parents, Hugh T. Wagner, Jr. and Nancy Amberman Wagner, his daughter, Sara Ann Wagner, his son, David Anthony Wagner, both of North Carolina and his brother, Thomas Wagner, of Wilmington. Also surviving is his companion of 8 years, Karen Carlin and her daughter, Sarah Faith Carlin, to whom he was a father, his niece, Deidra Wagner and his nephew, Thomas Wagner, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 11th at 3 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visit after 2 PM. Interment will be private.

Xenidis, Brenda M.

Brenda M. Xenidis, age 41, of Delaware City, DE, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2004. Brenda was a loving and devoted mother and the sunshine of her husband's life. She worked as a bookkeeper in the family owned business, Ted's Home Improvements. Brenda enjoyed life, nature and Country Music. She loved her kitchen and family gatherings and was known as a person willing to help others.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Ted Xenidis; 3 daughters, Tiffany M. Cox of Kentucky, Miranda M. Cox and Victoria M. Cox both of Delaware City; her father and step-mother William W. and Esther E. Sapp of Wellborn, FL; aunts, Marie Blair, Margaret Jarman, Verna Donovan, Ora Law, Grace Johnson and Emily Emerson; a great uncle, Presley Rash. Brenda is preceded in death by her mother Doris Sapp.

Service and burial will be private at the request of the family. In memory of Brenda contributions can be sent to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.

Yates, Jr., Edward L.

CHESWOLD - Edward L. Yates, Jr., "Fast Eddie" of Chewold, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 in Bay health/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 46.

He was born on March 2, 1959 in Dover, Delaware.

Mr. Yates graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1977 and the University of Tennessee, where he also played football.

He had worked as a mechanic.

Mr. Yates loved working on engines, telling jokes and stories and spending time with his family. He enjoyed Harley Davidson, fast cars and was a NASCAR enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife Alyssa Yates, a daughter Jennilee Yates and a son Jesse Lee Yates both of Delaware his parents Diane and Lee Yates of Hartly, a brother Mark Yates of Hartly, a sister Donna Moran of Hartly, his mother and father-in-law Rev. Judy and Joe Zingaro of Felton, father-in-law Ed Middleton and Chris Sekerke of Dallas, TX, two sisters-in-law Amanda Middleton of Dover and Ana Middleton of Dallas, TX, step sister and brother-in-law Patrick and Erika Zingaro of Delaware, several nieces and nephews and his devoted cats Raven and Kobalt.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the People's United Church of Christ, 46 S. Bradford Street, Dover, where friends may also call one hour before services.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to either Spondylitis Association of America, P.O. Box 5872, Sherman Oaks, CA 91413, or Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963 or Victims of Hurricane Katrina agency of your choice.

Nancy W. Yarish, 63

MILLSBORO - Nancy W. Yarish of Millsboro, formerly of Connellsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in her home after a battle with cancer. She was 63.

Mrs. Yarish was born March 24, 1943, in Connellsville, daughter of the late Edgar A. and Madeline Dawson Wilcox.

Until her retirement, she worked 28 years for the federal government and then started her own business, Premier Meetings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marion.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 South Vine St. (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Herbert Dubler will officiate.

Services will also be 11 a.m. Thursday in Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.

Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947; or East Sussex County Relay for Life for Cancer, Holly Lakes Campgrounds, 32087 Holly Lake Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
