Lausier, Steven Daniel

Steven Daniel Lausier, 22

DOVER — On Monday, May 31, 2010, Steven Daniel Lausier, 22, of Dover, took his final breath of life before going home to our Lord.

He is survived by his mother, Del Burks and step-father Raymond Burks; father, Patrick Lausier and step-mother Sherry Lausier, all of Dover; siblings, Keri Walton of Dover, Chris Burks and Kayla Burks, both of Atlantic, Va., Krystal and husband Steven Rose, Pamela Lausier, all of Dover, Hollie Lausier of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kelly and husband Drew Lambert of Sumter, S.C., Patrick D. Lausier Jr. of Sweden, Maine; grandparents, Camile and Corinne Lausier of Van Buren, Maine, Wilma Theis of Sumter, S.C., Henry and Pat Quillen of Bridgeville, Del., beloved and departed NormaLee Quillen, beloved and departed Charles Harris, and Eva Lee Harris of Magnolia, Del.

Steven, born June 28, 1987, in Dover, came into this world with a relaxed personality and a creative, playful, imaginative, and selfless disposition that continued to bloom throughout his childhood into his young adult years. Multidimensional as he was, Steven enjoyed creating through music and theatrical arts, constructive and technological pursuits and he was an avid gamer. Though not competitive in nature, Steven earnestly pursued his endeavors. This was evident in his self directed academic excellence, musical talents and cross country running in both Poly Tech High School and Covenant College.

Always humble in his achievements, Steven's goals were more oriented toward bringing joy and peace to those around him. This was especially evident in his young adulthood. His passion for ministering to friends, family, and children in the community were a beautiful compliment to his college studies as he pursued a degree toward counseling. His interests in serving and providing counsel were carried out in a variety of ways, such as volunteering his time for community outreach programs, Vacation Bible School, and enjoying serving as Tournament Organizer and Head Judge for Friday Night Magic Tournament. His most profound impact on the world was realized in his daily interactions with the medical staff responsible for his care, and even more so in the impact he had on fellow patients and their families. Ministering to others was not only to be Steven's vocation, but his purpose.

Steven was sent to us with a quiet and humble spirit, a loyal heart, and a passion for the care of others. Not only did Steven bless those he knew with these character traits, but he reminded us the importance of accepting God's will in our lives.

With wisdom, eloquence and maturity, Steven shared that he loves the life God has given him, and all who are in it, and the experiences he has been afforded. He admitted sadness at the thought of having to leave this life and those whom he loves so dearly, but found great peace in his desire to honor God's will for his life.

For those who knew and loved Steven, were blessed by him and who want to celebrate his life, a Memorial Service is to be held at Grace Church (PCA), 350 McKee Road, Dover, on Saturday, June 5, 2010. Visitation will begin at noon, followed by services at 1 p.m. A light reception will follow in the All Purpose Room at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to The Deacon's Fund of Grace Church.

Arrangements by Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
