Clifford E. Cunningham, 85, of 6721 Amhurst Dr. SW, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Wesley Bruss of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 wonderful years Dona, whom he called Pe Wee and enjoyed doing so. Also survived by a sister Mildred Radeke, a nephew Cliff Bishop and wife Marcie, two grandnephews David and Christopher Bishop, and 6 great-grand nieces and nephews all of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Fred T. Beyer.
Clifford was born May 22, 1918 in Muscatine, Iowa to Ernest and Alice DeLong Cunningham. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1937. He played on several basketball, baseball, and softball teams. He married
Dona Krumm on June 21, 1952 in Center Point, Iowa. He loved to dance and play pinochle and poker.
Clifford started in the fur business in 1937 and worked up to become manager of Mitvalsky Furs. He then went to Armstrong's in 1967 and was manager of the Fur Department there retiring in 1983. He really enjoyed and loved his work.

Imelda Marie Cowen, 91, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Woodlands at the Meth-Wick Community, following an extended illness. Services at 9:30 AM Monday in St. Matthews Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday with a Rosary service beginning at 5 PM.
Imelda's family includes daughters, Elizabeth Hajek and husband Vernon of Mount Vernon, and Mary Ellen Casanova and husband Robert of Waukesha, Wisconsin, three brothers Franklin Martin of Bangor, Maine, Alfred Martin of Old Town, Maine, and Raymond Martin and wife Rett of West Palm Beach, Florida. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Cowen in 1958, her parents, three sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter Susie Hajek.
Imelda was born July 13, 1912 in Old Town, Maine to Hubert and Alice Dube Martin.
Imelda will be remembered for her accomplished sewing and knitting skills. She was a very giving person who never complained, and she took great pride in her family. She volunteered at the Witwer Senior Center for many years until illness prevented her from participating.
The family would like to thank Arbor Place, Woodlands at Meth-Wick, Amenity Hospice, and Dr. Galles for their kindness and help throughout her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous or to the Witwer Senior Center.

Donna Elaine 'Baby Doll' Hamman, 79, of 1101 20th Street SW, died Friday, October 10, 2003, in Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness. Survivors include her husband George, a daughter Pam Banke of Oelwein, two sons Mike and wife Jeanette and Bob all of Chicago, eleven grandchildren, Tracy Tow and husband Jim, Todd Tumilty and wife Katie, Tricia Tumilty, Jessica Hamman, Katie Hamman, Mike Hamman, Robert Hamman, Christine Hamman, Riley Hamman, Brian Banke, and Jenny Banke, and two great-grandsons Adam and Nicholas Tow, a son-in-law Robert Tumilty, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Diane Tumilty, sisters Doris Darling, Lucille Vanlandingham, Lois Elias, Clara Kelly, and Stella Hill, brothers Eldon and Elmer Sherlock, and her first husband Palmer Castonguay Jr.
Donna was born April 1, 1924 in Williamsburg to George and Lettie Findley Sherlock. She married
George N. Hamman on July 28, 1967 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Donna and George formerly owned and operated the 'Home Port' for 26 years. Donna belonged to the following auxiliaries, Am Vets Post 6, American Legion Post No 5, VFW Post No 788, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 216, and LaFemmes Cobane 1305.
A memorial fund has been established and will be divided among the above auxiliaries.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy is a step son, Larry Smith of Queencreek, AZ; three brothers, Richard Frasher, David Frasher, and John Frasher all of Marion; two sisters, Betty Lou Petterson and Kathleen Crouse both of Cedar Rapids; one grandchild; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Frasher, Jr., and Robert Frasher, and a sister, Mary Little.
James was born January 6, 1928 in Stone City, the beloved son of William Sr. and Lucy (Minnis) Frasher. He married
Dorothy Evelyn Trinkle on May 4, 1956 in Iowa City. James worked for Century Engineering for 23 years and for Apache Hose and Belting Company for 23 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force during WW II.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy.

Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Sylvia Kephart of Marion, 4 brothers, Randall Chase and his fiancé, Tabitha Miller of Marion, Jason Kephart of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Kephart and his wife, Lua of Cedar Rapids and Tim Chase and his wife, Moira of Seattle, Washington, and his grandparents, Ralph and Margaret Kephart of Hazelton. He is also survived by a nephew, Christopher and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Kevin was born on Feb. 19, 1984 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ralph and Sylvia Stockwell Kephart. Kevin attended Linn Mar High School and was an aspiring self-taught musician. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Kevin's name.

Lloyd Raymond Rischer, 89, of the Higley Mansion, died there on Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 of pneumonia. Services at 11 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories where there will also be military rites. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery . Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the Chapel after 10 AM on Monday.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Jerry Lou Sopher of Marion. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Maureen Hansen and her husband, Christopher of Marion and two great granddaughters, Cheyenne Elizabeth and Ciera Marie. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Carl and Donald.
Lloyd was born on Dec. 9, 1913 in Belvue, Kansas, the son of Frank and Bertha Hidecker Rischer. He married
Wilma E. Washington on Nov. 27, 1937 in Cedar Rapids. She died in 2002. Lloyd worked at Penick & Ford for over 25 years, retiring in the early 70s. He was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the DAV and served in WWII in the Army of the Pacific. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, playing cards, dancing and especially time spent with his family. A memorial fund has been established in Lloyd's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5. The family would like to thank the staff at Higley Mansion for their loving care.

Survivors include his wife of over 58 years Winnifred, two daughters Barbara Meeker of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Reinette Miller of Phoenix, Arizona, a grandson Matthew Miller of Ashland, Oregon, a sister Lois Fleming of Iowa, two sisters-in-law Darlene Cox and Pauline LaVelle, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother Fay Meeker, and a half sister Vivian Allison.
Kenneth was born September 13, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa to Chester and Alma Schoonmaker Meeker. He graduated from Postville High School where he was educated to be a teacher. He married
Winnifred B. LaVelle on May 17, 1945 in Decorah, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a machinist in the drill department at Link Belt Speeder for 7 and a half years, and retired from the Post Office after 27 and a half years. He volunteered with the Jefferson High School booster club, enjoyed family vacations, fishing, gardening, and landscaping, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He also enjoyed bowling in several leagues and in tournaments.
Kenneth had a special gift of conversation and sense of humor, and always gave great attention to detail.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Verna was born September 11, 1923 in Walker, Iowa to C. Elmer and Neva Rowe Webster. She married
Roy Tull on December 13, 1942 in Troy Mills, Iowa. Verna enjoyed bowling in several leagues, cake decorating, sewing, and her family. She was a Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, a Past Worthy Matron of Malta Chapter #415 Order of Eastern Star, a Past Noble Grand of the Star of Main Rebekah Lodge I.O.O.F., a Past President of Amber Grotto, and a member of the Eu'cha-rest Temple No 68 Daughters of the Nile, Amaranth, the Shrine Auxiliary, Social Order of the Beauceant, and Buffalo United Methodist Church.
Verna's family wishes to thank the Garnett Place staff and Mercy Hospital for their tender care of Verna.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
