George J. Fisher, 82, of Camanche, Iowa, formerly of Fulton, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton.

Elaine Mohlman
Elaine Mohlman, 82, of Mineral, Ill., died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic, Sheffield, Ill. Burial is in Mineral cemetery . Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stackhouse-Moore, Sheffield.

She was born in Mineral to Louis and Mary Immesoete Taets. She married LeRoy Mohlman in 1952. He died in 1992.

Survivors are daughters, Ione Overfield, Atkinson, Rachel Cox, Akron, Ohio, and Elaine Black, Hillsdale; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Duane Taets, Erie.

Russell Hillbloom
Russell M. Hillbloom, 83, of Davenport died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Marshalltown (Iowa) Medical and Surgical Center.

Arrangements are pending at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport.

Edward Schricker
Edward C. Schricker, 80, of Davenport died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

Arrangements are pending at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Sonya Williams
Sonya Kate Williams of Epworth, Iowa, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.

Services and burial for Sonya will be private. Memorials may be made to her twin brother Nathan's college fund or to the Ronald McDonald House, Iowa City. Esterdahl Mortuary is assisting the family.

Sonya was the infant daughter of Chris and Tess Odean Williams. She was born July 26, 2004, at University Hospitals.

Survivors include her mom and dad; twin brother, Nathan; paternal grandfather, David Williams; maternal grandparents, Kate Odean and Ken Odean; stepgrandmother, Jan Davis; great-grandparents, Tina and Harvey Brockett and Margaret and Mike Chiafos; and aunt and uncle, Mandy and Brad Fugate. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sonya 'Sunny' Williams.

Roberta Davis
Roberta Ann 'Bobbie' Fletcher Davis, 67, of Rock Island, died July 30, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a wake service at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery , Rock Island. Memorials may be made to her family.

Bobbie was born May 8, 1937, in Washington, Iowa, to Lyle and Grace Fitzgerald Fletcher. She was raised by her grandparents, Jessie and Franklin Fletcher, in Crawfordville, Iowa. She graduated from United Township High School in 1955. She married Clyde Davis on May 8, 1960, in Rock Island.

Bobbie worked as an aide at the former East Moline State Hospital and then worked at other various businesses until she went to work to help her husband in his highway contracting with the U.S. Postal Service.

Bobbie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde, Rock Island; son, Michael Davis, Davenport; special aunt, Violet Lowe, Brighton, Iowa; aunt, Loris Farrier; sister-in-law, Marilyn Royal, Rock Island; half-brother, Wade, California; many nieces and nephews, including Sally Raingstaff, VanBuren, Mo.; and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Janet.

'Rest in peace, my love.'

Edward Schoede
Services for Edward C. Schoede, 89, longtime Rock Island attorney, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Chippiannock cemetery , Rock Island.

Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Augustana College for a scholarship to be established in his name.

Mr. Schoede died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home.

Edward was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Rock Island, son of Edward W. and Christina Volk Schoede. He married the former Louise Fisher Feb. 1, 1941, in Davenport.

Mr. Schoede was a lifelong resident of Rock Island. He graduated from Rock Island High School and Augustana College. He later attended the University of Michigan, where he earn his law degree in 1939. He practiced law with his father in Rock Island until his father's death. He then created the law firm of Schoede, Bell, Scott & Panousis. He practiced law in Rock Island for 65 years and was active in his practice until his death.

He was a member of the Rock Island County Bar Association, the Davenport Outing Club and for more than 50 years was a member of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club. He was a former member of the board of directors of several area banks and corporations. Ed was a founding member of Crow Valley Country Club in Davenport and Avondale Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; children, David Schoede, Palm Desert, Calif., Barbara Wong, San Francisco, Calif., and Michael Schoede, Grand Junction, Colo.; three grandchildren; a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mae Bosworth.

J.W. Stephens
J.W. Stephens, 81, of Rock Island, died July 31, 2004, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave, Moline. Memorials may be made to First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church or Pathway Hospice.

J.W. was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Newport, Ark., to Thomas Franklin and Lula Belle Swindle Stephens. He married Euna Belle Smith on July 12, 1941, in rural Newport.

J.W. was a welder and grinder for 30 years at John Deere Plow, retiring in 1979. After retirement, he enjoyed his time farming in Clayton, Ill.

J.W. became an ordained deacon of his church in September 1954. He was a charter member of his church and the pastor's best friend. He loved his church and his church family. He had a large garden and loved his time spent in Clayton.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Belle, Rock Island; son, Dale (Shirley) McNair; daughter, Wanda (Damon) Pursell; three grandsons, Mike (Vonda) McNair, Greg (Misty) Pursell, Chris (Sue) Pursell; two chosen grandsons, Danny Jones, Jackie Jones; two granddaughters, Tonya (Dean) Wiese, Leslie Pursell; eight great-grandchildren, Kassi Pursell, Adam McNair, Derek Pursell, Desiree Wiese, Alexis Pursell, Alaysia Pursell, Damon Pursell, Gianna Pursell; two brothers, Frank (Eva) Stephens, Rock Island, Lehman (Bonnie) Stephens, Pleasant Plain, Ark.; three sisters, Mary (Ralph) Burgess, Rock Island, Barbara (Kenneth) Deaton, Shirley (Gerald) King, Conway, Ark.; many nieces, nephews and chosen grandchildren who call him 'grandpa.'

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Stephens; and two sisters, Thelma Bailey and Oneal Deaton.

Florence Britz
Florence M. Britz, 95, of Moline, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Church, Moline, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Further visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, McHenry, Ill., with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery , McHenry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Church, Alleman High School or the Moline Activity Center. Arrangements are by DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline.

The former Florence M. Freund was born Sept. 29, 1908, in Johnsburg, Ill., daughter of Jacob and Rose Tonyan Freund. She married Joseph P. Britz Nov. 25, 1933, in McHenry. He preceded her in death June 22, 1961.

Florence was a member of the Women's Guild, Pastoral Care, Widows and Widowers of Christ the King Church, Friends Circle Club, and the Moline Activity Center. She was a member of the National Catholic Order of Foresters, Sacred Heart Court 956, for more than 75 years.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Gerald DeDecker, West Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Rose M. Millard, Clive, Iowa, and Marjorie Ann Britz, Moline; son, Joseph W. Britz, Moline; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Blake, McHenry. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Cletis Jones
Cletis Jones, 76, of Moline, went home to God on Friday, July 30, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley cemetery . Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Cletis was born June 8, 1928, in Hunt, Ark., son of Paul and Jane Swafford Jones. He married the former Mildred Darlene Blanchard-Carlisle March 25, 1951, in Rock Island.

He worked as a millwright for the former International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island, for more than 20 years, as well as at various other shops in the Quad-Cities. He enjoyed having his family around him, watching the Cubs, game shows, and boating. He was a Christian who will be sadly missed here on Earth.

Cletis is survived by his wife, Darlene; two children, Tamara Pratt and Kip Jones; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Tom Stechalin, Terry Pratt Jr., Melinda Pratt, Kris and Tanya Jones, Kara and Todd Hurst, Kyle and Aimee Jones and Craig Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Linda Jones and R.T. and Phyllis Jones; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Gene Ortiz. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kip Jones Jr., and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Pratt.

Craig Thomas
Craig S. Thomas, 44, of North Pole, Alaska, formerly of Moline, died unexpectedly Friday, July 30, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Moline.

Private services will be held. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting the family.

Craig Stephen Thomas was born July 1, 1960, in Moline, son of Ben Errol Thomas and Mary Jo Pierce Thomas. He served in the U.S. Air Force and had been in Alaska for 16 years. He was a member of the American Legion in North Pole.

Craig is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Osborn, Moline; his father and stepmother, Ben E. and Patricia Thomas, Cortland, Ill.; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Patrick Liddell, Rockford, Ill.; brothers and a sister-in-law, Mark Thomas and Michael and Jill Thomas, all of DeKalb, Ill.; grandfather, Ben B. Thomas, Carbon Cliff; stepsisters and stepbrothers and their spouses, Deb Sheil, Apache Junction, Ariz., Dawn Osborn, Albuquerque, N.M., Jeff and Jennifer Osborn, Moline, Rob and Sandy Meinholdt, Sherman, Texas, Beth Meinholdt, Fort Myers, Fla., and Barb and Jamie Scott, Rio, Ill. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Osborn, on June 30, 2004.

Sandra Townsend
Sandra S. Townsend, 65, of Carmen, Ill., formerly of East Moline, died July 30, 2004, at her home in Carmen.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation will be noon to service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of America, Galesburg.

Sandra was born May 31, 1939, in Rock Island, daughter of Robert and Simone Janson Hecht. She married Richard Townsend on March 28, 1993.

Sandra was employed at the former National Licorice Factory, Moline, for many years as a machine operator. She later worked at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center, Stronghurst, Ill.

Sandra was a loving grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; daughters, Sheila Wilson, Monmouth, Christine Wilson, Davenport; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Twyla Wilson, East Moline, David Wilson and fiancee, Rita, Rock Island; father and stepmother, Robert and Rosa Hecht, Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; and special friends who helped care for her, Nancy Oaks, Bobbie Tapscott and Darlene Fox. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Simone, and a grandchild.

George Headspeth
George M. Headspeth, 67, of Joy, died Friday, July 30, 2004, in Rock Island County.

There are no services or visitation. Memorials in his name may be sent to the donor's favorite charity. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 15, 1937, in Bristol, Va., son of Lydge and Gladys Mathis Headspeth. He married Shirley Brewer in 1960. He married Patty J. Headspeth Sept. 29, 1973, in Silvis. She died May 29, 1997.

George lived in Coal Valley until 1979. He moved to Taylor Ridge, then New Boston and later Joy. He operated the Hillbilly Tap in Joy, retiring in 1991.

He was a scrap dealer for many years.

He is survived by a son, Jason Headspeth and Debra Nieves, Joy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and John Ewell, Pekin, Ill., and Nicole and Chris Eggen, Aledo; stepdaughters, Wendy Smith, Aledo, Adaline Marlow, Matherville, and Heidi Miller, New Boston; 10 grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas, David, Terry, Christina, Amber, Ryan, Robert, Jeannie and Rodney Jr.; two great-grandchildren, William and Elizabeth; three sisters, Virginia Headspeth, Virginia, Marie Roake, Bristol, Va., and Ann Rutter, Bradford, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a grandson, William.

Louis Inghram
Services for Louis L. Inghram, 72, Davenport, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cunnick-Collins, Davenport. Burial with military rites is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.

Louis died on Friday, July 30, 2004, at Genesis West, Davenport.

He was born Oct. 16, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., son of Ivan and Margaretta Schuh Inghram. He married Mary Ellen Ingwersen Sept. 2, 1955.

Surviving are his wife; children, Laurie and Robert Inghram, both of Davenport, and David Inghram, Des Moines; four grandchildren; sister, Anna May Dufek, Peoria, Ill.

Letitia `Tish' Levy
Letitia 'Tish' Levy, Davenport, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Crest Health Center, Davenport.

Memorial services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport.

She was born Nov. 3, 1913, in Peru, Ill., to Walter and Florence Ashby. She married Mortimer Levy June 21, 1937, in Florida.

Survivors (and spouses) are her husband; children, Hiram II (Irina), New Hope, Pa., Jane (Setphen) Williams, La Habra Heights, Calif., Gertrude Elizabeth Levy, San Francisco, Calif., Martha (David) Neal, Davenport; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
