Harvey Wardenburg, age 73, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Private Family services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007. Memorials may be contributed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg or the Lutheran Interparish School, Williamsburg. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; three sons, Kevin (Jean) of Williamsburg, Brian (Margaret) of Williamsburg, and Eric (Rhonett) of North English; three daughters, Cynthia Bohrn (Rodger) of Williamsburg, Valerie Snyder (Leon) of Parnell and Andrea Huedepohl (Scott) of Williamsburg; fifteen grandchildren, Angela Hilleman (Kirk), Michael Bohrn (Cindy), John and Joshua Wardenburg, Kyle, Emily, Jason, Madalyn and Nicole Wardenburg, Ann and Rachel Snyder, Aaron and Jacob Huedepohl, and Erica and Alison Wardenburg; and three great-granddaughters, Kelsie and Kylie Bohrn and Brooke Hilleman. In addition he is survived by three sisters, Edna Faas (Dairyl) of North English, Irma Dellamuth (Glen) of Williamsburg and Elda Shine of Victor. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Selma Plotz.
Harvey Henry John Wardenburg was born March 14, 1933 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Adolph and Minnie Glandorf Wardenburg. He attended Iowa County schools, St. Paul Lutheran School and Williamsburg High School. Harvey married Maxine Schlotterback on May 31, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. He was a lifelong farmer in Troy Township, Iowa County.
Harvey was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was a church trustee, and the caretaker of St. Paul Cemetery. He enjoyed bowling, Dart Ball and playing cards.
Casket bearers were his grandsons, John Wardenburg, Joshua Wardenburg, Aaron Huedepohl, Jacob Huedepohl, Kyle Wardenburg, Jason Wardenburg and Michael Bohrn.

Douglas H. Parker, age 59, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Lynn Bissen officiating. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10 am until noon Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his wife Deanna; a daughter, Lynn M. Hill and husband Chris of Hallsville, MO; three siblings, Susan Bodley and husband Allen of Hawkeye, IA, and Marian Brandenburg and husband Robert of Manhattan, KS, and Leland Parker of Fayette, IA. His parents and a brother, David, preceded him in death.
Douglas Howard Parker was born July 26, 1947 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Howard and Lois Hunt Parker. Her graduated from Oelwein High School in 1966 and married Deanna Ruth Forney on August 6, 1967. Douglas served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.
Douglas was employed at Amana Refrigeration for 36 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature, participating in Mountain Man Rendezvous, Buckskinners and target practices.

Ruth L. Stumpff, age 88, died Wednesday evening, January 17, 2007 at Crestview Acres in Marion following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana, Iowa with Elder Jon Childers officiating. Burial will be in the High Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Middle Amana Community Church in Middle Amana. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a son Hank and wife Joan of Amana, two grandchildren, Kristen Schabacker and husband Dan of Cottage Grove, MN and Suzanne Stratton and husband Travis of Tiffin; 5 great grandchildren, Allison and Austin Schabacker and Cade, Karsyn and Kaylee Stratton. In addition she is survived by a brother, George Nagel of High Amana and two sisters, Dorothy Hawkes of High Amana and Leona Doehrmann of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry in 1969, and two brothers Leroy Nagel and one in infancy.
Ruth Lucille Nagel was born July 24, 1918 in Watkins, Iowa, the daughter of John and Katy Hetz Nagel. She received her education in the Amana Schools and she married Henry Thomas Stumpff on June 29, 1940 in Marengo, Iowa. Ruth was a clerk at the High Amana Store for many years. She was a member of the Amana Church Society.

Kenneth Cameron, Jr., age 61, formerly of Blairstown, died Friday evening, December 15, 2006 from injuries suffered in a car accident. Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 23, 2006, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Ivan Frederickson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2006 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, three sons: Lyle (Kathy) of Blairstown, Larry (Stacie) of Deep River, and Lynn (Robin) of Marengo; three daughters, Brenda Mitchell of Belle Plaine, Rene’ Carruthers (Travis) of What Cheer, and Linda Graf (Tim) of Norway; twenty three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Mike, and two sisters, Phyllis Fryer (Dwight) and Shirley Boomershine ( Gary) all of Oskaloosa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Daisy.
Kenneth Cameron, Jr. was born May 11, 1945 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Kenneth L. and Mary Silvers Cameron. He attended the rural Mahaska County schools and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1963. Kenneth married Patricia White on January 25, 1964 in Oskaloosa. The couple lived in the Blairstown area for many years. He was employed by Amana Refrigeration for over 40 years as a truck driver.

Erhard “Ed” H. Harms, age 90 died Thursday December 21, 2006 at Colonial Manor in Amana following an extended illness. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Pastor Wayne Woolery officiating. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL with Pastor Les Dumer officiating. Memorials may be contributed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homestead, IA or the charity of the donor’s choice.
He is survived by two sons, David (Cathy) of East Moline, IL; and Richard (Sonia) of Dallas, TX; a daughter Elva “Ellie” (Norman) Trondsen of Grass Valley, CA and three grandchildren, Andrew, Heidi, and Erik Harms. He is also survived by two sisters Beata Blaylock and Elda Bennett, both of Gurnee, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marie Mueller Harms, his wife Sylvia in 2004, and three sisters Elva Harms, Vera Mason, and Lota Niemand.
Erhard Herman Harms was born the son of Herman and Marie (Mueller) Harms at Batavia, IL. He graduated from Davenport High School and attended Concordia College in Milwaukee. He graduated with a Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He married Sylvia Klunder on Feb. 8 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. He served in the U.S. Army as a chaplain for over 24 years being discharged at the rank of Colonel. After retiring from the military, Erhard served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley, IL. He also worked as an EMT while there. Following his retirement from the ministry the couple lived in Paris, IL for ten years, and for the past five years they have resided in Amana. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homestead, Iowa and in earlier years was a member of Lions Club.

Evelyn “Evy” Guehrn, age 81 of Marengo, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Belle Plaine following a lengthy illness. Funeral Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Rev. Morris Hurd officiating. Burial will be at Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Marengo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday, January 1, 2007 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
She is survived by her children, Gary and wife Linda of Quincy, WA, Linda Barnes and husband Jerrell of Mission Viejo, CA, Donald and wife Donna of Cedar Rapids; and Sally Heppner and husband Charles of Dolores, CO; four grandchildren, Candice, Brett and Aaron Guehrn of Quincy, WA, and Kristy Powers and husband Brandon of Cedar Rapids. In addition she is survived by two sisters, Virginia Bergert of Belle Plaine and Genevieve Huedepohl of Marengo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mervin in 1999, a son Roger, and a brother, Loyd.
Evelyn Keil was born August 6, 1925 at Genoa Bluff, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Edna Whitlock Keil. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1942 and briefly attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She married Mervin Guehrn on August 29, 1942 at Lancaster, MO. She owned and operated Evy’s Place, a restaurant in Marengo, and the Marengo Motel on Highway 6.
Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Marengo American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years, and Dusty’s Coffee Club. She was an avid bird watcher, especially hummingbirds, and she enjoyed collecting hummingbird memorabilia. She enjoyed authors Louis L’Amour, Cindy Gerard and Zane Grey. She had an ardent interest in genealogy, antiques and collecting spoons. She loved visiting her classmates and friends at senior dining. She was a very loving mother, wife, sister and friend.

John Henry Daniels, age 93, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 4, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Richard Heishman officiating. Burial will be in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Friends may call from 3 to 7 P.M. Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
John is survived by three sons, Alan J. of Littleton, CO, William D. of Belle Plaine, and Lawrence J. and wife Lee of Ladora; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Daniels of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren, Kristina, Benjamin, Theresa, Matthew, Megan, David, John, Andy, Shane, Jacob and Ireta Daniels; two great-grandchildren, Victorcito and Cora. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ireta in 1979, six siblings, Judson, Clement, Irene Wagner, Ralph, Walter in infancy, Warren and a granddaughter, Pamela Jean Daniels in 1970.
John Henry Daniels was born March 7, 1913 at home in rural Ladora, the son of Almon J. and Minnie Burgy Daniels. He received his primary education in the Iowa County, Honey Creek Township school and graduated from Marengo High School in 1933. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp from 1942-1945 during World War II. He married Ireta K. Rinehart on November 4, 1945 at the Presbyterian Church in Marengo. He was a lifelong farmer in Honey Creek Township. In his later years he was very proud of his independent living. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He especially enjoying deer hunting. His pets were his constant companions.

Elsie L. Ehrmann, age 84 of Cedar Rapids, formerly of West Amana, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Living Center East in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the New Apostolic Church in Cedar Rapids, with Larry Dollmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the West Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Roemig and husband Gilbert of Middle Amana and Sandra Ludovissy and husband Curt of West Amana; a grandson, Jason Ludovissy and wife Jewel of West Amana; a brother Harold Mittlebach of Arizona City, AZ and one sister Wilma Neumann of West Amana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Alfred.
Elsie Lina Ehrmann was born September 25, 1922 in West Amana, the daughter of Henry and Lina Albert Mittlebach. She attended the Amana schools and later married Alfred Otto Ehrmann on September 28, 1940 at the West Amana Church. In her early years she worked for the West Amana General store and later worked for the Amana Woolen Mill and Amana Furniture Shop. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church.

Bonnie Charlene Schwarting, age 50, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, with Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
She is survived by her husband Larry Schwarting; two daughters, Angela Ebel and husband Andy of Shellsburg, and Sheryl Werling and husband Jayme of Springville; four grandchildren, Austin Werling and Lily, Tessa and Dusty Ebel; her mother, Arlene Beasley of Amana, a brother, Lloyd Beasley and wife Chris of Cedar Rapids and a niece Wendi Jo Beasley. Her father preceded her in death.
Bonnie Charlene Beasley was born August 17, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Donald and Arlene Bishop Beasley. She graduated from Marion High School in 1974 and also graduated from Hamilton Business College. She married Steve McDaniels in 1974. The couple were later divorced. She married Larry Schwarting on May 30, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Bonnie was employed as a security guard at Monsanto in Williamsburg. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy.
