John E. Lins, 77, of Washington, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in the Halcyon House in Washington after failing in health for the past two years.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Troy Richmond officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Prayer services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been established for the Wounded Warriors Project or the Caring Bridge Web site.

WELLMAN — Gary “Ed” Schauf, 63, of Marietta, S.C., formerly of Wellman, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with the Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association and Washington County Hospice.

Brooklyn Jade Hyatt, 1 year, 11 months and 21 days, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 in her parents’ arms following a lifelong battle with Lissencephaly (smooth brain disorder).
Memorial services will be held at 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the First Church of God in Brighton with the Rev. Ryan Meader officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Monday in the Jones and Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, the Children’s Miracle Network or a general memorial.

No visitation or service will be held. Cremation rites were facilitated by the Family Care Services Life .

Paul Martin, 88, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Tucson, Ariz.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Crawfordsville Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 29. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in rural Richmond. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with a rosary at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona First Responders.

WAYLAND — Harold Fredrick Wenger, 93, of Wayland, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his home.
An open visitation will be from noon to 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, at the Bethel Mennonite Church in rural Wayland. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Bethel Mennonite Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Following the celebration of life, there will be a time to greet the family. A memorial fund has been established for Parkview Home and Bethel Mennonite Church. The Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is in charge of arrangements.
