KALONA — Theodore Brian Yoder, 22, of rural Kalona, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home, after an intermittent 12-year battle with various cancers.
Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, at the Iowa Mennonite School.

BRIGHTON — Dorothy Jean Schultz, age 62, of Brighton, Iowa, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital following a short illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m Tuesday, April 17.

RICHLAND — Roy McCracken, 84, of Ollie, formerly of Brighton, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, in the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church near Wayland with the Rev. Bob Spilger and the Rev. Carla Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Fern Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established for Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church, Ollie Baptist Church or Hospice of Keokuk County.

IOWA CITY — Edward Thomas “Tom” Gray, 92, of Grinnell, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in the Mayflower Health Center in Grinnell.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, May 7, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, at the Carman Center in The Mayflower Home at 600 Park Court in Grinnell. Memorials may be directed to the Mayflower Education or Human Needs Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

WELLMAN — Elsie Arlene Blosser, 90, of Wellman, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman with the Rev. Nathan Ramer officiating. Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Wellman Mennonite Church and Hospice Compassus.

Kathryn Elizabeth Sutton age 96 of Washington, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the McCreedy Home following a broken hip and brief illness.
Funeral Services will 1:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Beatty Funeral Home with Don Collings presiding. Interment will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family is purchasing a memory flag for the Avenue of Flags at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Kathryn and Lewis enjoyed driving thru watching the flags blow in the wind.

Loretta “Jean” Moody, 88, of Washington, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Fruitland following a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Private family services will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County.

KALONA — William “Bill” Nisly, 93, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 4, at the Upper Deer Creek Cemetery in rural Wellman. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona with the Rev. John Kin, the Rev. Floyd Helmuth and the Rev. Floyd Yutzy officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Sunnyside Church Missions and Iowa City Hospice. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.

WAYLAND — Clarence E. Lewis, 81, of Wayland, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Independent Bible Church in Wayland with the Rev. Robert Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be designated to the Wayland First Responders or the Independent Bible Church. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is assisting with arrangements.

CHARITON — Genevieve Altenhofen, 71, of Chariton, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chariton. There will be a rosary at 6 p.m. Friday at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, followed by a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

LONE TREE — Roy Eugene “Gene” Finley Jr., 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Manor Care in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree with the Rev. Richard Marsceau officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery. After the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with the Rev. Terry D. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Van Wert Cemetery in Van Wert.
