Fred R. Reimers
July 28, 1919 - February 9, 2013

Frederick (Fred) Roy Reimers, 93, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away on February 9, 2013, after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, with the Rev. Garry Briesacher, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottawa, officiating. Full Military Rites will follow, with burial in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday, February 12, at Oakwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.

Fred was born July 28, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Roy and Helen Rittmann Reimers. He married Betty Hamilton of Paris, Illinois in June of 1950. He served his country in World War II in the Army Signal Corp in the Aleutian Islands. After the war he operated LaSalle County Foods and was a traveling salesman. In retirement he was a long time employee of Sierra Motors in Ottawa and spent many days at antique car shows. He truly enjoyed his time at Uphill Grind Cycle & Fitness in Effingham where he had many friends. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottawa; Lions Club member and past president; Elks Club member, Moose Club member and a member of the Cadillac/LaSalle Club. He was a resident of Brookstone Estates, Effingham and a resident of Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, Illinois.

Surviving are his children, Dick (Deborah) Reimers of Effingham and Barbara Reimers of St. Charles, Illinois; 1 grandchild, Laura Reimers of Champaign and 3 step-grandchildren, Scott Mahon of Downers Grove, Steven Mahon of Oak Lawn and Stacia Mahon Chaplin of Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Hamilton Reimers, his brother Robert Reimers and his sister Lois Evans.

Timothy Arwood
February 3, 2013

Timothy Arwood, 55, of Ottawa, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Sunday, February 3, 2013, after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. His loving wife of over 34 years was by his side when he passed.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa, with Rev. John Walker, Pastor officiating. A gravesite dedication will take place at a later date. Arrangements are through Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Timothy Scott Arwood was born on December 18, 1957 to Maynard and Helen Arwood in Kennewick, Washington. His childhood adventures with his older brothers and sister were stories he loved to share. He graduated from Tonica High School in 1976 and eventually began working for GE Plastics, where he worked for almost 30 years. He married JoAnne (Jones) on July 9, 1978 under an old oak tree at Buffalo Rock State Park. His day began and ended with her smile and he often said asking her to marry him was the 'smartest decision I ever made!' He was the great love of three daughters: Kindra, Kristin and Kandice, of whom he was incredibly proud and would brag about to anyone who would listen. Timothy retired from Sabic last year with a medical retirement. He spent his remaining days in Hudson, Florida with his beautiful bride - enjoying an ocean view.

Timothy was a member of the Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene and began attending the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa in 2003. Timothy’s faith was the keystone of his life. He was a man of incredible faith and loved the Lord with all his heart.

Timothy is survived by his wife, JoAnne and three daughters: Kindra and Kristin of Kankakee, Illinois and Kandice of Brooklyn, New York. His father, Maynard L. Arwood of Wyoming, brothers Michael (Billie) Arwood of Rockford, Illinois, James (Beckie) Arwood, William (Julie) Arwood and a sister, Linda (Jack) Sellers, all of Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Jackson) Arwood.

Bruce Allen Brown
October 25, 1929 - February 3, 2013

Bruce Allen Brown, 83, of Ottawa, formerly of North Aurora, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Arrangements are through Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial in North Aurora on a later date.

Bruce was born on October 25, 1929 in Chicago, to Guy F. and Hazel Irene (Hodgson) Brown. He married Doris Campbell on August 12, 1950 at Wesley Methodist Church in Aurora. He was a member of North Aurora Lion’s Club, and was a former deacon at Union Congregational Church in North Aurora.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, 3 children, Gary Allen (Lupe) Brown, of North Aurora, Connie (Matt) Chapman, of Serena and David Steven (Ruth Anne) Brown, of Aurora, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a brother, Guy F. (Judy) Brown of Naples, Italy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandsons, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Dale Eugene McAboy
November 19, 1922 - February 2, 2013

Dale Eugene McAboy, 90, of Ottawa, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Memorial services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Oakwood Memorial Park, where full military rites will be conducted. Arrangements are through Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Dale was born on November 19, 1922 in Clinton, IL, to John Roy and Sarah Eva (Gephart) McAboy. He served his country in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. Dale married Betty L. Rensch on July 14, 1974 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa. He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #33 and Occidental Lodge #40 AF and AM.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Betty; a son, John Frederick McAboy; two brothers, Roy and Harry and a sister, JoAnne.

Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

DORIS ANDERSON
April 28, 1922 - February 2, 2013

Mrs. Doris (Wieck) Anderson, 90, of rural Utica passed away Saturday morning, February 2, 2013 at her home.

Arrangements are pending at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru with Rev. Howard C. Smith, pastor of Waltham Presbyterian Church and Rev. Ellsworth Young officiating. Burial will follow at Waltham Twp. cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anderson was born on April 28, 1922 in Peru to Fred and Matilda (Sell) Wieck. She married Robert J. Anderson on August 4, 1946 at Zion United Church of Christ in Peru. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in LaSalle Class of 1945. She earned her nursing home administrative certificate in 1967. Doris worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, LaSalle in private duty and later at Heritage Manor in Peru as director of nurses and was an assistant administrator. Doris was one of the founders of the Curlerettes at the Waltham Curling Club. She always said 'I never had to be asked twice to go golfing'.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Waltham Presbyterian Church, St. Mary’s Nursing Association, the Earlville Country Club, and the American Red Cross.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Linda Zeman) Anderson of LaSalle; two grandchildren, Melissa Ann Anderson Spicer and Karen Lynn Anderson; two brothers, Fred (Dorothy) Wieck of Moorehead, MN and Robert Weick of Peru; 5 nephews and 2 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Anderson on July 22, 2009; two sisters, Irene Schier and Margaret Roman; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Ann Spicer.

Patricia Krolak
May 11, 1929 - April 14, 2014

Patricia (Travers) Krolak, 84, of Peru, formerly of LaSalle, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, LaSalle with Rev. Duane Leclercq, officiating. Burial will be at St. Vincent’s cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. with recital of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pat was born May 11, 1929 in LaSalle to James and Mary (Kearns) Travers. She graduated from LaSalle/Peru High School, graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph, Chicago and received her Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University.

She married Edward L. Krolak on August 5, 1961 at St. Patrick’s Church, LaSalle. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Patrick, formerly Ladies of Charity, St. Ann Sodality, board member of the Illinois Valley Food Pantry and the Red Cross.

Pat’s keen sense of responsibility, self-effacement, and works of charity, largely performed behind the scenes, could not be entirely hidden from those who knew her resulting in great respect and friendship with others.

She did not see herself as a leader, but her good example to family members, especially her grandchildren, did not go unnoticed. Because she was constantly present when needed, she will be missed and devoutly remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Krolak; a son, Thomas (Harumi Wakisaka) Krolak of Rolla, MO; 2 daughters, Mary (Kevin) O’Grady of Rockton, IL and Karen (Peter Burgess) Krolak of Ottawa and 4 grandchildren, Kellen, Patrick, Madalyn and Catherine O’Grady.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Marjorie Travers and Nancy Mortell and a brother Edward Travers.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Red Cross, Illinois Valley Food Pantry and St. Patrick’s window restoration fund.

Douglas J. Holland
February 6, 1957 - October 17, 2013

Douglas J. Holland, 56, of Deer Park Township, died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 21, at St. Mary’s Church in Utica, with Msgr. James Swaner, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Liturgical Prayers at 1:30 p.m.

Douglas was born on February 6, 1957 in Ottawa, to Daniel and Iris (Munson) Holland. He was an Arbitrator for the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission for 28 years. Douglas was a graduate of Sangamon State University. He married Mary Aubry on June 16, 1979 at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and President of the LaSalle County Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, 3 children, Nathan (Brittani) Holland, of Deer Park TWP, Amanda (David) Carter, of Peru and Michael (Courtney) Holland, of Chicago, brothers Daniel J. Holland and Dennis (Patti) Holland, mother and father-in-law Harold and Margaret Aubry, of Utica, brothers and sisters-in-law; David (Sheryl) Aubry, Stephen (Carol) Aubry, Daniel (Darci) Aubry, Kathleen Farrell, Joan (Dale) Graham and Paul (Chris) Aubry and Honorary Parents Betty Wagner and Ted and Anna Lou Lambert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Judith Holland Johnson and Brother-in-law Timothy Farrell.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Davis, William Poutre, Gary Small, James Holland, John Pohar and Donald Wagner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Edmund B. Thornton, Gary Gearhart, Gary Marincic, Tom Weiss and Kevin Chalfant.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the LaSalle County Historical Society (Northern Partners Building Project) .

Jan Alan Lindeman
October 27, 1941 - May 20, 2013

Jan Lindeman, 71, of Ottawa, formerly of Oswego, passed away Monday afternoon, May 20, 2013 at Rivershores Care Center in Marseilles. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Jan was born October 27, 1941 in Chicago to Floyd Gilbert and Martha L. (Kjolsrud) Lindeman. He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1959. He attended the University of Iowa on a football scholarship. He achieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1963. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Iowa. He worked in the pharmacy business in the Aurora for 40 years; having begun with his dad in the Lindeman Pharmacy in Batavia, IL. Jan served on the Oswego School District 308 Board of Education for 8 years; participated in the Aurora Area Pharmaceutical Association for several years and was active in a variety of Christian churches on different committees and boards and as an elder.

He was often quoting and always living by one of his favorite scripture verses; Proverbs 3: 5-6 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will lead straight your paths.'

He married the love of his life, Linda Kay Larimer on August 25, 1963 in Iowa City at the United Methodist Church. They met on a blind date, and spent the next 50 years together. He was a Die-Hard-Cub Fan. Jan was an avid golfer and was blessed to participate in the Oldsmobile Scramble Tournament in Florida.

He is survived by his three children, Laura Lynn (Chuck) Jackson of Champaign, Scott Alan (Michele) Lindeman of Morrison, IL and Kevin Alan (Vicki) Lindeman of Ottawa.

Four blessed and talented grandchildren, Kristin Taylor Lindeman, Cody Alan Jensen Lindeman both of Ottawa, Theophilus Charles Lindeman Jackson and Martha Charlotte Lindeman Jackson of Champaign. He is also survived by his siblings, Gail Ann (Dick) Anderson of McHenry and Terry Lynne Pieart of Aurora; also five nieces and one nephew and five grand nieces and three grand nephews.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or National Parkinsons Foundation.

Arthur Leroy Burton
May 31, 1918 - May 26, 2013

Arthur L. Burton 94, of Ottawa, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday May 31, 2013 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ottawa with Rev. David Daniel, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Art was born on May 31, 1918, in Harvard, IL to Ezra and Ida (Lebo) Burton. He married Anna Marie Hage on November 4, 1938 in Harvard, IL. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Alaska. He was a Dean Milk Distributor for over 60 years. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Deer Park Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; a daughter, Bonnie (Larry) McGrogan of Ottawa; a son, Ronald Burton of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren, Karen (Chico) Corsolini, Beth Melvin, Michael (Barb) McGrogan and Brian (Amy) Burton and Kelly (Craig) Edwards; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Conley of St. Charles, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Charles and Eugene Burton

Pallbearers will be his five grandchildren and a great-grandson, Zachary McGrogan.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ottawa.
