The family will celebrate David's life at a memorial visitation from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

David was born October 4, 1949, in East St. Louis, IL the son of Richard and Isabel (Soden) Wachter. He married Charlene J. Smith on November 26, 1971, in Belleville, IL. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2010. He retired from ADM in 2009 where he worked as a lab supervisor.

Surviving is his daughters: Allison Zimmer and her husband Paul of Decatur and Sara Wachter of Decatur; sisters: Mary Jane Watson and her husband Kenny of Washington and Donna Jean Bjerk and her husband Barry of TN; grandchildren: Kathryn Grace, Emily Jeanne, Meghan Marie, Asile Ciyan . Also surviving is his beloved dog Mickey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Elizabeth Hazel LeBeau Owens
BORN: October 31, 1925
DIED: March 15, 2013
LOCATION: Mount Zion, Illinois
Elizabeth Hazel LeBeau Owens 87, of Mt. Zion passed away at 7:30 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital.

Services to celebrate Elizabeth life will begin with a Vigil Prayer service at 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Following the prayer service, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Elizabeth was born October 31, 1925 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of William Leonard and Mary Ann (Vestal) LeBeau. She married Frederick Jerry Owens on June 30, 1945. She began her work career for Grigoleit Company and went on to do Dietary Work for Adolf Meyer Health Center. (State of Illinois) . She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She loved to sew for friends and family. She also had a love for cooking. We will all miss her peach cobbler and potato salad.

Surviving is her husband Fred of Mt. Zion; daughters: Elizabeth Ann Owens of Beecher, IL and Janet Katherine Henebry of Decatur; grandsons: John T. Henebry and Michael David Henebry and his wife Tammy; great granddaughters: Jordan and Lucy Henebry. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Marshall Edward Owens, three brothers, and two sisters.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Fair Havens Nursing Home and the staff of St. Mary's Hospital for all the care and compassion shown to Elizabeth and the family.

Gary Lee Eby
BORN: June 28, 1946
DIED: March 12, 2013
LOCATION: Decatur, Illinois
Gary Lee Eby, 67, of Rural Decatur, passed away at 3:20 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital.

A service to celebrate Gary's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Point Pleasant cemetery, Long Creek. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Gary was born June 28, 1946 in Sikeston, MO the son of Louis and Ruby (Grissom) Eby. Gary worked as a boilermaker/pipe fitter out of the Local #363. He married Nellie Karen Wilson on January 23, 1973. He enjoyed antique cars, fishing and many other outdoor activities.

Surviving is his wife: Karen of Decatur; mother: Ruby Eby of Decatur; children: Robin Laswell and her husband Michael of Rougemont, NC, Ellie Whelton and her husband James of Dracut, MA, Scott Perry of Decatur, and Brenda Eby-Summers and of Decatur; grandchildren: Kayla E. Summers, Ashleigh Summers, Chad Laswell, Nicole Laswell, Jack Whelton, and Emily Whelton; great grandson: Brayden Lee Summers.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Sharon K. (Simington) Bradley, 65, of Peru, passed away Thursday morning, May 30, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Peru. Funeral services will be private with burial in Peru City cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.

Phyllis E. Heider
September 7, 1931 - June 2, 2013

Phyllis E. (Moore) Heider, 81, of Lostant, passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with Rev. Luke Poczworowski, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s cemetery in Lostant. Visitation will be 4-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with a liturgical prayer service at 3:45 PM.

Mrs. Heider was born September 7, 1931 in Streator to William and Charlotte (Lawless) Moore. She married Eugene 'Snick' Heider on June 2, 1951 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant.

She was a graduate of Lostant High School and a member of St. Mary’s Church in Wenona. She worked at the Lipton Tea Factory in Streator for four years and later at the Century Café in Lostant. Together, she and her husband started the H & H Tap in Lostant which later became Bullheads.

Survivors include her husband, Snick; nine children, Gary (Linda) Heider of Washington, Mary Kay Kozak (friend Syl Janusick) of Oglesby, Jean (Jim) Gentert of LaSalle, Nancy (Steve) DeRubeis of Wenona, Jacqueline (Max) Actis of Spring Valley, James (Sue) Heider of Oglesby, Robert (Denise) Heider of Tonica, Ronald (Charlene) Heider of Peru, and Susanne (Gregg) Humphries of Plano; 23 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Marge) Moore of Lostant one sister, Deanna (Larry) Whiteaker of Ottawa; one sister in-law, Bess Moore of Granville; in-laws, Doris Barr of Lostant, Janet (Harlan) Strode of Lostant, Russell Heider of Streator, Alan (Joyce ) Heider of Streator, Joann (Robert) Henderson of Geneseo, Donna Smaling of Bloomington, and Maxine Brierly of Lostant; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Donald, Robert, and Raymond Moore; one step-grandson, Zachary Humphries.

Pallbearers will be her 16 grandsons, Derek, Brandon, Brock, Blake, Brent, Brooks, Eric, Kyle, Kurt, and Michael Heider, Tom and Luke Kozak, Jeff and Brad Gentert, and Jeremy and Marcus Camatti.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary’s Church in Wenona or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Robert J. Smith
April 16, 1979 - June 1, 2013

Robert J. Smith, 34, of Peru, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Mueller Funeral Home in Peru with Pastor Thomas Arnold of Mighty Word Church, LaSalle officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born April 16, 1979 in Spring Valley. He worked for a time at T-Group in Ladd and then as a carpenter alongside his father, with his father’s company, Advanced Building. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his greatest joy was his children.

Survivors include his parents, Debra Smith of Peru, Clarence Smith Jr. of Dalzell and Randy Miller of Peru; his step-mother, Terri Pagani of LaSalle; two sons, Joey Guild of Chicago and Kyian Smith of Peru; two step-daughters, Mercedes of Naperville and Alexis of Seatonville; two sisters, Erica (David) Carden and Laura Smith both of Peru; one step-sister, Danielle Pagani of LaSalle; one step-brother, Anthony Pagani of LaSalle; paternal grandparents, Clarence Sr. and Mary Lou Smith of Granville, Mary Fisher of LaSalle and Pauline Wilson of LaSalle and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one step-brother, Tracy Pagani Jr.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Feye Perez and paternal grandfathers, Russ Miller and Roy Smith.

Pallbearers will be David Carden, Dale Smith, Joey Guild, Mason Parker, Kyle Pikula, James Perez, Tony Perez and Karen Turczyn Bolech. Honorary pallbearer will be Mercedes Saulsberry.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

Henrietta E. Cross
October 25, 1926 - June 3, 2013

Henrietta E. Cross, 86, of Ottawa, died Monday morning, June 3, 2013 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. noon on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m Wednesday before the service.

Henrietta was born on October 25, 1926, in Rosedale, KS, to Xavier and Anna (Kuntz) Ernst. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 1945. She married Cecil Ryburn Cross on November 16, 1946 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. She was a member of St. Columba Church.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil, a daughter, Dianne (Bill) McDermott, of Oak Park, a son David (Dawn) Cross, of Tacoma, WA, 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Stacy) McDermott, Todd (Mira) McDermott, Brian McDermott, Matt (Jennifer) McDermott and Kimberly McDermott, 16 grandchildren, a brother George (Helen) Ernst, of Ottawa and a sister Rosie (Virgil) Eschbach, of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association.

Jeanne A. Kratz
November 26, 1920 - June 4, 2013

Jeanne A. Kratz, 92, of Peru, passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Peru. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s cemetery, Webster Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jeanne was born on November 26, 1920 in Peru to Peter and Apollonia (Schmitt) Kratz. She worked at Ream Insurance Agency in Peru and was co-owner of Tots Thru Teens Children's Clothing Store in Peru. Jeanne was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru, volunteered for the American Red Cross, and IVCIL.

She is survived by one sister, Inez Clinch of Peru; 22 nieces and nephews; 35 great nieces and nephews; and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice 'Bee' Kratz and Lona Jakse; two brothers, Quintin 'Bud' Kratz and Myron Kratz.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

David G. Yepsen
September 30, 1938 - February 4, 2013

David G. Yepsen, 74, of Spring Valley, formerly of Peru, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Spring Valley Nursing Center. Arrangements are pending at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru with Rev. David Heidemann, pastor of First Congregational Church in Peru officiating. Burial will follow at Peru City cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Yepsen was born on September 30, 1938 in Princeton to LeRoy and Martha (Mercer) Yepsen. He was a manager at Warren Radio in LaSalle and later worked as an insurance salesman. He officiated for IHSA in several different sports. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Peru where he served as church deacon.

He is survived by 5 children, Randy (Lisa) Yepsen of Stanfield, NC, Michael (Dena) Yepsen of Spring Valley, Colleen (David) Kurkowski of Peru, David (Christine) Yepsen, Jr. of Peru, and Rick Yepsen of Peru; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Yepsen, Jeremy Yepsen, Timothy Yepsen, Richard Hanson, Jessica Kurkowski, Tanya Catalanello, Daniel Yepsen, Jamie Yepsen, Jeff Yepsen, and Elizabeth Yepsen; and 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Peggy) Yepsen of Yorkville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, LeRoy 'Sonny' Yepsen, Jr.; and one sister, Pat Hyson.

Memorials may be directed to the Spring Valley Nursing Center, St. Margaret’s Hospice, Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, or to the donor’s choice.

James Tobias
November 11, 1931 - February 3, 2013

James Erwin Tobias, 81, of Ottawa, died Sunday February 3, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. Duane Kaufman, officiating. Burial will be at Galloway cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

James was born November 11, 1931 in Seward, IL to Olin E. and Stella Elizabeth (Benjamin) Tobias. He married Janie Mildred Noel on July 28, 1973. She died on February 4, 1997. He was an iron worker in the Local 63.

He is survived by 11 children; Dennis Tobias, of Ottawa, Vicki (Barry) Mitchell, of Ottawa, Jody (Jeff) Snyder, of Peru, David Tobias, of LaSalle, Angie Dettore, of New Port Richey, FL, Mark Tobias of Ottawa, Juanita (Ken) Cable, of Moline, Mary Ann (Verlan) Rouw, of Iowa, Jim Corrie, of Ottawa, Chris (Dave) Alderman, of Ottawa and Rose (Matt) Hawkins, of Streator, 32 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, a half brother, Jack Tobias and brother in law, Joel (Betty) Noel, of Seneca.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janie, a son, Kenneth Cable and a sister.

Pallbearers will be; Kiley, Brady and Chad Mitchell, Eric Jensen and Colby and Grady Alderman.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Clara H. Cosgrove
September 3, 1922 - February 6, 2013

Mrs. Clara H. (Zimmermann) Cosgrove, 90, of Peru, passed away Wednesday, February 06, 2013 at Manor Court in Peru.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday February 9, 2013 at the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home in LaSalle. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Cosgrove was born September 3, 1922 in Chicago to Paul and Rosalie (Noel) Zimmermann. She married Robert E. Cosgrove on January 15, 1944 at St. Mary’s Church in Peru.

Mrs. Cosgrove was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Peru. She enjoyed traveling, golf and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Samuel) Tomminello of Peru and Nancy Jo (Dr. Michael) Stuart of Rochester, MN; one son, Mark (Patricia) Cosgrove of Carbondale; 8 grandchildren, Tim Tomminello, Steve Tomminello, Gaia McVey, Erin Pedersen, Michael Stuart, Colin Stuart, Mark Stuart, Cristin Stuart; and 5 great grandchildren; one sister in-law Pat (Frank) Gatza of Oglesby; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on February 17, 2009; one sister, Fern Winchell.

Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
