BEECHER, Maude Emma Hasty

Mrs. Edward Beecher, 63, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday 1-27-1952 at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Bloomington, after a lingering illness. She was brought to the Easton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Anchor. Burial will be in the church cemetery; Rev. Carl Grabeman will officiate. She was born 6-8-1888 at Anchor, a daughter of Robert and Nealy Doane Hasty. She married 2-21-1906 at Anchor to Edward Beecher. Surviving are the husband; three sons, Ralph, Anchor; Edwin, Gibson City; Delmar, Colfax; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Schleeter of Anchor; Mrs. Melba Quinn, Gibson City, and Mrs. Mildred Trembly of Colfax; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Claude Hasty, Colfax; Clarence Hasty, Union; Clyde Hasty, Aurora; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Witmus, Saybrook; Mrs. Nora Schalper, Peoria; Mrs. Lois Dowdy, Decatur. She was preceded in death by the parents; four sisters and two brothers, one daughter, and one son and one grandson. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor.

KLINTWORTH, Henry

Henry Klintworth, 89, a resident of the Americana Nursing Center at Normal for two years, died at 11:25 p.m Thursday, 2-18-1965 at St. Joseph Hospital. His funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, with Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Leo Schleeter, Delmar Schleeter, Maynard Schleeter, Bob Schroeder, Tom Klintworth and Larry Winterland. Mr. Klintworth was born 7-22-1875 at Spring Lake, Mich., a son of Barthold and Anna Dommann Klintworth. He married Emma Schleeter 12-9-1900 at Anchor. She preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Bertha Hinrichsen of Anchor and Rose Beier of Colfax; a son, Edward of Anchor; two brothers, Phil of Chelsea, Mich. and Mike, Otsego; two sisters, Mary Mergener, Spring Lake, Mich. and Dora Baker, Otsego; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers andd three sisters. He was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Those coming from out of state to attend the funeral service were, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schleeter and Ray Gates of Birmingham, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klintworth and Mrs. Dora Baker of Otwego/Otsego Mich.

KNAPP, Robert Douglas

Colfax - The funeral of Robert Douglas Knapp, 66, of Colfax will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Colfax. The Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate. Burial with full military rites, will be in Drummer Twp cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 4 - 9 p.m. today at Duffy Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. He died at 12:06 a.m. Thursday 6-7-2001 at his residence. Memorials may be made to Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City; United Methodist Church, Colfax; Eastern McLean County Ambulance Assn or a charity of the donor's choice. Mr. Knapp was born 12-23-1934 in Gibson City, a son of Robert J. and Marion A. Anderson Knapp. He married Mary Elizabeth Taylor on 6-1-1958 in Gibson City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kevin (Chris) Knapp, Rocky River, Ohio; and Mike (Diane) Knapp, Greenville, Mich.; one brother, Ronald L. (Betty) Knapp, Gibson City; one sister, Karen Long, Gibson City; and six grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Knapp was a 1952 graduate of Drummer Twp High School, Gibson City. He completed four years of service with the US Army and was based in Germany. Mr. Knapp began his banking career in March 1960 in the installment lending department of the 1st National Bank in Gibson City. He remained there for 28 years, attaining the title of CEO in 1982. In 1988, he moved to Colfax and was named president of the Peoples State Bank in Colfax. He retired in February 2000. He was a long-time active member and past director of the Community Bankers Assn of Illinois, served on several committees and in 1988 was named its "Outstanding Member" of the year. Mr. Knapp was an ardent supporter of the communities in which he lived. He served in numerous capacities, including president of the Colfax Chamber of Commerce, secretary and president of the Gibson City Chamber of Commerce, member of the Gibson Area Hospital Advisory Board, co-chairman of Gibson City's 1971 Centennial celebration, member of the Moyer Library Board, secretary of the Drummer Twp cemetery Assn, original member of the Ford County Merit commission, deacon of the lst Presbyterian Church in Gibson City, and co-chairman for many years of Gibson City's annual clean-up day. He was a 40 plus year member of the Gibson City Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory, and Mohammed Shrine. He was recognized as Gibson City's Citizen of the Year in 1988. He was currently a member of the United Methodist Church, Colfax. Mr. Knapp had a love for life, people and his commmunity. But his most special gift was his grandchidren, whom he adored.

KOCH, Edna M.

SAYBROOK: Edna M. Koch, 87, of St. Joseph, formerly of Cheney's Grove Twp, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday 8-28-2002 at Provena Covenant Mecial Center, Urbana. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freese Funeral Home, St. Joseph, Pastor Ken Hutchens officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation. Mrs. Koch was born 9-30-1914 at Cheney's Grove Twp, a daughter of Edward and Florence Preston Bowen. She married Jay "Dick" Koch on 8-24-1947 at St. Louis, Mo. He died 7-26-1998. Surviving are one son, David A. Koch, rural Urbana; three daughters, Eleanor "Ellie Knipfer, Urbana; Delores Grogan, LeRoy; and Sherree Kirby, St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers, two sisters and one grandson. She was a member of the Saybrook Methodist Church for years before transferring to the St. Joseph United Methodist Church. She worked at Lewis Department Store in Champaign; Bank of Illinois; and was employed by Richard N. Noel.

BEECHER, Robert Louis

LeRoy High School Youth Dies of Leukemia Robert Louis Beecher, 15, president of the LeRoy High School sophomore class and a member of the student council, died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday (no date on obit) in St. Joseph's Hospital. He had suffered leukemia and had been hospitalized several times during the past nine weeks. He was taken to the Stensel Funeral Home and will be taken to the family residence Thursday morning. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the LeRoy Christian Church with the Rev. John L. Boldon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Anchor. Robert was born 5-30-1936 in Bellflower, a son of Marvin and Bell Zoll Beecher. His father died in 1943. He had lived in LeRoy the past 3-1/2 years. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Kimler; two brothers, Wayne and Larry Beecher; a sister, Beverly Beecher; a half-sister, Linda Kimler, all of LeRoy; a grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Zoll of Farmer City; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beecher, Sr. Colfax. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Anchor.

BEECHER, William August

William August Beecher died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lambert Brethorst in Colfax, at 12:20 a.m. Monday (1-29-1945). He was 92. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City and at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Anchor. The Rev. Hartwig Harms will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was born in Tellingstedt, Germany 4-17-1852, son of Mr. and Mrs. Johann Beecher. He came to America when 20 to Danforth. Later he settled in Anchor Twp. He was a resident of the Anchor Community for 72 years. He was one of 24 charter members of St. John's Lutheran Church. 1-2-1873 he married Miss Anna Stroh in the Lutheran Church in Bloomington. They were parents of 11 children. His wife preceded him in death in 1903. Two sons also preceded him in death. 1-31-1905 he married Wilhelmina Bielfeldt, who died in 1923. He is survived by children, William, Jr., Louis, Emma Hinrichsen, Mrs. ? Lage, all of Anchor; Mrs. ___sta Brethorst, Edward, Her... all of Colfax; Adolph, OK.; Mrs. Louise Lorig, MN; 40 grandchildren; ? great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. BEECHER, William C.

William C. Beecher, 61, Gibson City died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday at Gibson Community Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Anchor, with the Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Lamb Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday. He was born 6-17-1905, near Anchor, a son of Henry and Margaret Schroeder Beecher. He never married . He leaves two brothers, Ernest, Arrowsmith; and Carl of Madison, Wis.; one sister, Ruby Golleher, Whittier, Ca.; and three nephews. He had been a resident of the Gibson City area for the last 52 years and was a farmer. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

BEIER, Clarence "Pete"

The funeral of Clarence "Pete" Beier, 76, Colfax, who died Thursday 6-21-1984 was at 1;30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, the Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Beier was born 9-4-1907 at Cooksville, a son of William C. and Anna Stuart Beier. He married Rose Marie Klintworth 2-9-1939 in Chenoa. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Bob of Ladd; three brothers, Carl, of Bloomington; Arthur of Cooksville; and Vernon of Goodyear, AZ; a sister, Agnes Pruitt of Saybrook and three grandchildren. Mr. Beier was a Standard Oil agent in the area from 1932 until he retired in 1969. He was a member of the board of directors of the Peoples State Bank of Colfax; a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor; and a past member of the Colfax Chamber of Commerce. Memorials may be made to his church or to the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.

BEIER, Rose Marie Klintworth

Rose Marie Beier, 88, of Colfax, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday 10-17-2000 at Heritage Manor, Colfax. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor, with the Rev. Robert Ferro officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Memorials may be made to her church or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association. Mrs. Beier was born 2-8-1912 at Anchor, a daughter of Henry and Emma Schleeter Klintworth. She married Clarence William Beier on 2-9-1939 at Chenoa. **He survives. Other survivors include a son, Bob (Betty) Beier, Ladd; a sister, Bertha Hinrichsen, Colfax; a brother Edward Klintworth; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Beier was a homemaker and a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church near Anchor. **typed as obit is written; however, Clarence Beier died 6-21-1984.

BIELFELDT, Myrtle A. Gilmore

Myrtle A. Bielfeldt, 92, of Anchor, died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday 12-31-2002 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor, the Rev. Stephen Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery, Anchor. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born 10-11-1910 at Gibson City, a daughter of Samuel and Sarah Louise Swearingen Gilmore. She married Walter Bielfeldt on 9-25-1929 at Anchor. He died 9-3-1989. Survivors include two sons, Donald (Norma) Bielfeldt, Anchor; and Larry Bielfeldt, Bloomington; three daughters, Marcelene (Orville) Eyer; Downs; Nancy (Bud) Clark, Bloomington; and Vicki (Donald) Vance, Lexington; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and twin daughters. Mrs. Bielfeldt was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor.

BIELFELDT, Fred G.

Fred G. Bielfeldt, 80, of rural Sibley, a retired farmer and a charter member of the Brotherhood of St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, died at 2:10 a.m. yesterday 12-14-1984 at Burnham Hospital, Champaign. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Mr. Bielfeldt was born 3-23-1904, at Anchor, a son of Adolph and Minnie Hensen Bielfeldt. He married Grace Gilmore on 3-16-1927 at Gibson City. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Ronald, Sibley; three daughters, Camilla (Bill) Lohmeyer of Strawn; Carol Boyle, Klamath Falls, Ore.; and Beverly Meginnes, Towanda; four brothers, Walter, Adolph, Jr. and Robert, all of Anchor; and Ralph, Colfax; three sisters, Amanda Stiegman, New Minden; Velma Wichmann, Melvin; and Evelyn Salyards, Clifton, TX; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandson preceded him in death. Mr. Bielfeldt farmed in the Sibley area until his retirement in 1974. He served on the Sibley Grade School Board of Education for many years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Brotherhood. Memorials may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
