DAMERON, Ida (Taylor)

DEATH OF IDA DAMERON
The death of Mrs. Ida Dameron occurred Saturday morning at 3:30 o'clock at her home in Colfax. Mrs. Dameron had been in poor health for several months but she had gradually failed since January and had been bedfast only for the past two weeks. Leakage of the heart was the cause of her death. Ida Taylor was born on February 4, 1862 in the vicinity of Evergreen near Colfax. Her mother died when she was 18 years of age and she was taken into the home of her aunt, Mrs. Martin Batterton, where she was treaed as one of the family and here she received her early training. She was married to Edward Dameron, of this vicinity on March 27, 1878 who preceded her in death about seventeen years ago. To this union were born four children, Roy, who passed away at the age of seven; Bertha, at home; Mrs. Faye Bunn and Iral Dameron all of Colfax. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Almeda Miller of Arkansas City, Kansas and two grand-children who have given her much comfort owing to her extreme fondness for children. Mrs. Dameron ever mindful of the mother's care she received in the home of her aunt, never failed to extend the same kindness to those about her, especially to Clyde Taylor, who made his home with her for the past fifteen years. She was converted in young womanhood and was a liberal contributor to the church. Mrs. Dameron was a home lover, a good mother, a good neighbor, and will be missed by all those who knew her. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, and were in charge of Rev. H.M. Bloomer, a former pastor of the Colfax M.E. church, now of McComb, Mrs. Bryce Knight and Miss Rickey Grendling sang during the services. Interment was in Wiley cemetery. The pall bearers were Arthur Callard, Erle Mitchell, Bab Noll, Claud Hasty, H.J. McKeehan and Ernest Hyatt.

DURFLINGER, Elizabeth Ann

Graveside service for Elizabeth Ann Durflinger, 15-day-old daughter of Norman and Cathy Schleeter Durflinger, Morton, formerly of Lexington, who died 10-12-1980, were held at 11 a.m. October 14 at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, rural Anchor. Revs. Daniel Tuhy and Alexander Youck officiated. She was born 9-27-1980 in Peoria, a daughter of Norman D. and Cathy Schleeter Durflinger. They survive. Also surviving are a sister, Jenna, at home; maternal grandparents, Lyle Schleeter of Bloomington, and Morna Schleeter of Heyworth; maternal great-grandmother, Elise Schleeter of Anchor; and paternal grandparents, Floyd and Lorna Durflinger of Normal. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or the March of Dimes.

EFFORD, Donald Wood

The funeral of Donald Wood Efford, 87, of Heritage Manor, Normal, formerly of 311 Glenn Ave., Normal, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, Father Eugene A. Stormer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 - 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He died at 5:15 a.m. Friday 8-1-1997 at Heritage Manor. Memorials may be made to the St. Matthews Episcopal Church or to Christ the King Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Hilda K. (Rohwedder) Efford, Normal; a daughter, Karen K. Kuniyoshi, Normal, and a sister, Evangeline Phillips of California. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kyle and KC Kuniyoshi, both of California; and Krista Kuniyoshi, Normal. Mr. Efford was born 3-25-1910 in Sheboygan, Wis., the son of Dr. William Wood and Grace Alena Wood Efford. He married Hilda K. Rohwedder on 11-16-1935 at St. Matthews Episcopal, Bloomington. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Bloomington. Mr. Efford was active in his church and community throughout his life, serving in various capacities in several organizations. Mr. Efford was also distinguished as a 33rd Mason. He is also remembered for the many years he portrayed King Herod in the American Passion Play and Fezzi Wig in the Christmas Carol.

EFFORD, Hilda Kathryn (Rohwedder)

Hilda Kathryn (Rohwedder) Efford, 85, a resident of Heritage Manor in Normal, died at 11:07 a.m. Friday 10-17-1997 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. The Rev. Robert Montiel will officiate. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church or to Christ the King Episcopal Church. She is survived by her daughter, Karen K Kuniyoshi, Normal. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kyle GT Kuniyoshi of California; Krista LA Kuniyoshi of Illinois; and KC Kuniyoshi of California; and a god daughter, Carol Johnson. She was born 1-28-1912 in Melvin, the daughter of Jacob and Augusta Jahnke Rohwedder. She married Donald W. Efford at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Bloomington on 11-16-1935, where they had been members ever since their marriage. He died 8-1-1997. She also was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, four brothers and one sister. She worked as an office manager at University High School in Normal for 25 years, and she was a member of the American Business Women's Assn and the Eastern Star. She graduated Illinois State University and she taught all grades in a one-room school house in this area. Mrs. Efford was an accomplished homemaker who faithfully served her church and community throughout her lifetime.

ENGHAUSEN, Anna C. Schmidt

Anna Margaretha C. Enghausen, 82, of Sibley died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday 11-1-1987 at her home. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley, the Rev. William Hecht officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery, rural Anchor. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb - Young Funeral Home, Roberts, and an hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. She was born 1-6-1905, in Anchor, a daughter of Herman and Emma Landau Schmidt. She married George Enghausen on 2-12-1924 in Sibley. He died 1-1-1971. Surviving are three daughters, Twilight Warnke and Alberta Stamm, both of Urbana; and Maxine Walters of Sibley; one sister, Christina Molck, Onarga; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one brother and three sisters. She was a resident of Sibley since 1955. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley, and the American Lutheran Church Women.

FARRAN, Maria Jean

Maria Jean Farran, infant daughter of Gabriel I. and Alma J. Bielfeldt Farran, Normal, was stillborn at 4:28 a.m. Wednesday 10-5-1983 at Foster G. McGaw Hospital, Loyola University, Proviso Twp. Her graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, rural Anchor, the Rev. Norman T. Remmers officiating. Duffy-Pils Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Surviving are her parents, maternal grandparents, Adolph and Doris M. Bielfeldt, Anchor; paternal grandparents, Ibrahim and Fadwa Farran, Jericho, Israel; and great-grandparents, Dorothy Reinhart, Colfax, and Kati Dabit, Jerusalem. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Bloomington.

FASKING, Fred H.A.

The funeral of Fred Fasking, 65, a bachelor of near Saybrook who was killed while walking on the hard road west of Gibson City Saturday night (October 1930) was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Church 2-1/2 miles southeast of Anchor, the Rev. Mr. Hahn, pastor, officiating. Mr. Fasking was struck by a car driven by Clarence Fickwiler. Both were going east. It is thought that Mr. Fasking was walking in the center of the road. Mr. Fickwiler said that he dimmed his lights for an approaching car and did not see the pedestrian. At an inquest held at 8 p.m. Saturday under the direction of Coroner Lloyd Shoemaker, the jury returned a verdict of accidental death. Mr. Fasking sustained a broken neck when hit by the auto and died instantly. He is survived by two brothers and a nephew who live in Gibson City. b. 1865 s/o Henry and Caroline Andreae Fasking d. FAWVER, Emily J. Cross

Arrowsmith, Illinois - Mrs. Isaac Fawver, one of our oldest and most highly respected residents died at her home southwest of this city, Tuesday morning (5-5-1909) at 2:30. Emily Cross was born in Ross County, Ohio, 6-27-1843. She was united in marriage to Isaac Fawver 9-4-1861. To this union were born twelve children, of which eight survive, viz., Mrs. J.W. Moyer, of Wicheta, Kansas; Harry, residing near here; Mrs. Henry Campbell and Mrs. James Bishop, of Annawan, Ill.; Frank, of Webb City, Mo.; Mrs. Earl Larimer, and Mrs. Clifford Arrowsmith, of Elliott, and Benjamin, residing at the home place. Mrs. Fawver was a woman of esteemable qualities, which won her many admiring friends. She was ever ready to minister to the sick and suffering in her community and give them her kind sympathy. Her own suffering she bore with remarkable patience and courage. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1891. The funeral services were held from the residence Thursday morning, Rev. Frederic Baylis, of Ellsworth, officiating, assisted by Rev. W.H. McPherson, pastor of the M.E. Church. The music was furnished by a quartet, composed of Mrs. L.C. Virgiel, Miss Ethel Hawley and Messrs W. O. Gilbert and W.W. Lane. The pallbearers were D.L. Snoddy, E.W. Slingloff, Elec Fawver, Wm. Spencer, Sr., Chas Brown and H.M. Scott. Interment took place at the Stipp cemetery.

FAWVER, Isaac

Saybrook Gazette, Arrowsmith News Section, August 25, 1904
At his home five and one-half miles northwest of Arrowmsith, Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock occurred the death of Isaac Faver, aged 68 years, of apoplexy. Besides his wife he leaves three sons and six daughters and a number of grand-children, also one brother. Mr. Fawver was born in Ohio; he served as a soldier during the civil war and was one of Arrowsmith township's highly respected citizens. The funeral services will be held Sunday.

FITZHENRY, Maybelle

Mabelle FitzHenry, 89, of Saybrook, died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday 8-2-1992 in Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, the Rev. Lewis W. Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Saybrook. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. today at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home Saybrook, and from 9 - 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. She was born 8-25-1902 in Ford County, a daughter of Edward and Alice Chaney Marshall. She married Jay A. FitzHenry 10-2-1930 in Paxton. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Beck, Melvin; three sisters, Fern Kline, Ruth Monical and Dorothy Scarbrough, all of Cherokee Village, Ark.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her parents, two daughters, a granddaughter and two sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, and was very active in church work. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

FOX, Jaime

The funeral of Jaime C. Fox, 17, of 15 Cedar Court, Bloomington, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Russell Barton officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was dead at 8:06 a.m. Friday 10-17-1997 near Six Points and Alexander roads in Bloomington, where he was hit by a passenger train. Survivors include his mother, Terry Lopitz, Bloomington; two brothers, Chad Fox, Normal; and Jereme Fox, Bloomington; and maternal grandparents, Clem and Alice Schneider, Rockford. He was born 3-9-1980 in Normal, a son of Vernon and Terry Schneider Fox. His father and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
