Donald J. Pacourek, 83, of Palos Hills died Sept. 9, 2014 at his home.
Visitation was last Thursday at the Palos Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills, and the funeral was Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills.
Interment was at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
Mr. Pacourek was survived by his son, Donald. Jr.
He was born in Chicago, worked as a Chicago police officer and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Julia H. Kosek
Julia H. Kosek (née Mazur), 91, of Chicago Ridge, died Sept. 1, 2014 at Lexington Healthcare in Chicago Ridge.
Visitation was last Thursday at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills.
Funeral services were Friday at the funeral home. Interment was at Resurrection cemetery.
Mrs. Kosek is survived by children Ronald and Jill (the late Patrick) Carey; brother Stanley Mazur and sister Sophie Tokarz.
She worked for several years at Continental Can and World’s Finest Chocolate in Chicago.
Ernest S. Gregory
Ernest S. Gregory, 90, of Palos Hills died Aug. 12, 2014 at home.
Visitation was Monday at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills and the funeral was Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church.
Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Gregory was survived by Loretta (née Bucher) and children Douglae (Merrilie), Bradley, Kurth and Amy (Steve) Frankel.
He was born in Chicago, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and worked as a building engineer with Crooks Terminal Warehouse in Bedford Park.
Joseph “Bud“ Marek
Joseph “Bud” Marek of Oak Lawn died Friday.
Visitation was held Tuesday at Kubina-Tybor Funeral Directors in Oak Lawn and funeral services were Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mr. Marek was survived by Nancy Marek (née Kavanagh) and children Dawn (Steve) Webster, Jennifer (Marty) Bittner, Michael (Erin) Haak and Justin (Kim) Haak.
Janet (Ruzich) Becker
Janet (Ruzich) Becker, 80, of Chicago Ridge died last July 10, 2014 in Winter Haven, Fla.
Visitation was July 15 at the Colonial Chapel in Orland Park and the funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Ridge in Chicago Ridge.
The internment was at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
Ms. Becker, known to many as “Toots,” was survived by her husband, Eugene T. “Gene” Becker and children Gregory (Kimberly) Becker and Anita (Larry) Knipper.
She was born in Johnston City and was a bank officer.
Leonard D. Engberg
Leonard D. Engberg, 88, of Worth died July 23, 2014 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Visitation was held Sunday at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth and the service was held Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Burial was held at Oak Hill.
Mr. Engberg was survived by Delores “Dodie” Olson and children Beth (Rob) Johnson, Douglas (Karen), Paul (Jackie), and Craig (Kerry).
He was born in Chicago and was an electrician.
William M. Dorsey
William M. Dorsey, 78, of Worth died July 8 at home.
The visitation was held July 13 at Schmaedeke Funeral Home in Worth.
The funeral Mass was held July 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills.
Mr. Dorsey was survived by stepchildren Esmeralda (Joe) Uribe, Linda Maizonet and Rosa Maizonet.
Larry D. Hamersly
Larry D. Hamersly, 71, of Chicago Ridge died July 12 in Oak Lawn.
Funeral services were private.
Mr. Hamersly was survived by children Larry Hamersly and stepchildren Richard Agee, Debbie Sciuchetti and Tina De Stefano.
He was born in Washington, Ind., and was a mechanic.
Jacqueline A. Rocke
Jacqueline A. Rocke, née Arends, 77, of Worth died July 7, 2014 at home.
Services were private.
Ms. Rocke is survived by children Christopher Rocke and Jorrie (Gary) Gresko.
She was born in Gibson City and was a volunteer at Palos Community Hospital.
