Funeral services for Dee J. Helton, 65, of Hentryville, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29 at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. He died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
He was a native of Harlan, Ky., a retired carpenter and woodworker for Jeff Boat Inc., a member of VFW Post #3281 and a U.S. Marine Vietnam Veteran.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Sara Helton; his sister, Liddia Helton; four grandchildren and his fiancee, Charlene King.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. Helton.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.
Nettie B. York
79; of New Albany
Nettie B. York, 79, of New Albany, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany.
She was a native of Stinking Creek, Ky. and a real estate agent.
Survivors include a niece, Shirley Goode, Corydon and Rebecca Nunn, Jeffersonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles York; her father, Pallas Daniel Baker and her mother, Sudie Carnes Baker.
The body has been cremated and interment will take place at Olive Branch Cemetery, Pekin.
Scott Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mildred L. Franklin
A graveside service for Mildred L. Franklin, 87, of Corydon, will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, Ky. She died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Harrison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. (EST) Saturday, Sept. 27, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Sandra L. Shepherd Lone
A funeral mass for Sandra L. Shepherd Lone, 58, of New Salisbury, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery
in Crandall. The body was cremated. She died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
She was born Oct. 22, 1944 in Scottsburg. She was a former loan officer at Bank One in Jeffersonville, a member of Chapter B of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association in New Albany and Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Leon Lone, New Salisbury; father, Harry Allen Shepherd, Louisville; sons, Paul B. Lone, Indianapolis, James Alan Lone, Georgetown, Stephen Bradley Lone, New Albany, David Allen Mann, Jeffersonville and Daniel Louis Mann, Borden; daughters, Teresa McLeland, New Albany and Jennifer Ann Schultz, Clarksville; brothers, David C. Shepherd, Louisville and Derek Shepherd, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Nancy Heavrin, New Albany; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Maude Smith Shepherd.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy. 64 NW in Ramsey.

Funeral services for Carolyn C. Stofel, 72, of Elizabeth, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery
in Elizabeth. She died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Louisville, a member of American Legion Post 28 in New Albany and VFW Post 3281 in New Albany.
Survivors include her sons, James Allen Stofel, Clarks Hill, Ind. and George W. Stofel III, Elizabeth; daughters, Beverly Holladay, Clarks Hill, Ind., Barbara Reid, Louisville and Carolyn Vaughn, Elizabeth; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 26, and after 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.
Robin Lynn Allen
age 42; line technician
Funeral services for Robin Lynn Allen, 42, of Jeffersonville, will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Scott Funeral Home, North Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a line technician for Beach Mold and Tool.
Survivors include three sons, Steven McElroy and wife, Tammy, Patrick McElroy and Bruce Phillips, all of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Misty McElroy, Jeffersonville; her father, Alton G. Allen, Sellersburg; three brothers, Scott Allen and wife, Christi and Bruce Allen and wife, Deanna, Sellersburg and Glenn Allen and wife, Cathy, Utica and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patty S. Allen.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

age 83; Bonnie's Market owner
Funeral services for Bonnie N. Stewart Beyl, 83, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Scott Funeral Home, North Chapel, with interment in Kraft-Graceland Mausoleum. She died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was retired owner of Bonnie's Market in Jeffersonville with more than 20 years service.
Survivors include a son, Larry Larkins, Mishawaka; a daughter, Cheryle Bates, Charlestown; four grandchildren, Carla Witmer, Granger, Tracy and Terry Bloss, Mishawaka and Jacqueline and Jerry Presley, Durant, Okla. and Shannon Bates, Jeffersonville and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Malcolm Beyl and parents, William Stewart and Hattie Christ.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Robert William 'Bill' DeWeese Sr.
age 80; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Robert William "Bill" DeWeese Sr., 80, of Clarksville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He retired from Bell South in 1984. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Depauw Masonic Lodge 338, Bell Telephone Pioneers of America and Howard Park Christian Church. He was past president of the Clarksville Little League. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Ona Lee; three sons, Robert DeWees Jr. and wife, Rebecca, St. Louis, Missouri, Jack DeWeese and wife, Pat, South Bend and Gary DeWeese, Clarksville; a sister, Ottilie Biesel and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Robert W. DeWees III and wife, Renata, Chicago, Ill., Raina DeWees, Gurnee, Ill. and Chris Baxley and wife, Shaunna and Danny DeWees, Clarksville and great-grandchildren, Sierra and Shelby Baxley, Clarksville.

age 78; seamstress
Funeral services for Maggie Green Cooper, 78, of Georgetown, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, with burial in the Wolfe Cemetery. She died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was a native of Alexandria, Tenn. She was a seamstress in a shirt factory in Smithville, Tenn.
Survivors include her sons, Grady Edward Ashburn, Indianapolis and J. B. Ashburn, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; daughters, Mary Lee Peterson, Juniper, Fla., Linda Kelly, Clarksville and Retha Nell Houser, Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Lorena Bates, Alexandria, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home.
Alean Gibbs Cain
age 85; Henryville native
Funeral services for Alean Gibbs Cain, 85, of Greencastle, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 23, at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 703 E. Washington St., Greencastle, with burial in the Brick Chapel Cemetery. She died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Hickory Creek at Sunset.
She was born in Henryville the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Taylor) Bagshaw. She worked several years with P.R. Mallorys retiring in 1980 and had previously worked at the Angwell Curtain Factory in Greencastle. She was a member of the Henryville Methodist Church in Henryville.
Survivors include four sons, Paul W. Gibbs, Monticello, Michael R. Gibbs and wife, Darlene, Poland, Ronald L. Gibbs and wife, Melanie, Greencastle, and Melvin L. Gibbs, Greencastle; daughters, Ruth Ann Kruse, Greencastle, Linda L. Walls and husband, Robert, Ladoga and Melba J. Thomas and husband, Danny, Greencastle; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law; two grandsons; a great-grandson; four sisters; and five brothers.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service today, Sept. 23, at the funeral home.
