Funeral services for John Ray Lurding, 49, of Clarksville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Chapman Funeral Home, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of New Albany, a mechanic for the old K-Mart Penske and an Army veteran and a member of the Wildwood Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sheryl Shelton, Clarksville; a son, John Michael, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Brandy Dawn Lurding, Huntingburg, Ind.; his mother, Norma Edwards Langdon, Clarksville; his stepmother, Nina Lurding, Jeffersonville; a stepdaughter, Melissa Daffron, Clarksville; a stepson, Anthony Ray Muncy, Hugo, Minn.; a grandson, Damien Lurding, Huntingburg; two sisters, Carol Noble, Jeffersonville and Nancy Henderson, Clarksville; and one stepbrother, Terry Lewis, Jeffersonville.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the funeral home.

Ewell W. Wolfe
84; American Air Filter retiree
Funeral services for Ewell W. Wolfe, 84, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. He died Saturday, May 22, 2004.
He was a native of New Albany and was a retired Welding Engineer for American Air Filter. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and American Welders Society. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie C. Barker Wolfe; a son, Ewell Wesley Wolfe, Jeffersonville; daughter, L. Dianne Wolfe, Louisville and a brother, Glenn D. Wolfe, Fla.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, May 24, at the funeral home.

Tommy Lynn Montgomery
57; of Pekin
Graveside services for Tommy Lynn Montgomery, 57, of Pekin, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, at Sellersburg Cemetery. He died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Norton's Hospital, Louisville.
He was a former resident of Sellersburg.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry Montgomery; three sons, Tommy, Larry and Danny Montgomery, all of Pekin; his mother, Joan Montgomery, Sellersburg; a brother, Mike Montgomery, New Albany; four sisters, Elaine Koch, Sellersburg, Sharon Long, Pekin, Tammy Long, Sellersburg and JoAnn Chapman, Jeffersonville and seven grandchildren.
Visitation at Garr Funeral Home will be form 9 to 11 a.m. this morning, followed by graveside services at the cemetery.
Ronald W. Smith
53; Kimball International
Funeral services for Ronald W. Smith, 53, of Loogootee, Ind., will be held at 10 a.m. today, Monday, May 24, at Brocksmith Funeral Home, 300 Church Street, Loogootee, Ind., with burial in Truelove Church Cemetery. He died Friday, May 21, 2004, at his residence.
He was a maintenance worker at Kimball International. He and his wife, Clara, were specialized foster parents, parenting 18 children over the last 16 years. He was a member of the Loogootee Revival Center.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Ann Smith; three sons, Anthony Smith, Vincennes, Robert Smith, Loogootee and Jeff Taylor Smith, Loogootee; two brothers, Jack Smith, Salem and Gary Smith, Loogootee; five sisters, Brenda Shelton, Sandra Guernsey and Peggy Smith, all of Henryville and Reagena Schultz, New Albany and Shirley Bailey, Shelbyville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Oreda Smith; brothers, Randall and Sonny Smith; and a sister, Linda Smith.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 23, at the funeral home.

Viola D. Fackler
79; of New Albany
Funeral services for Viola D. Fackler, 79, of Louisville, were held at 10 a.m. this morning, Monday, May 24, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Friday, May 21, 2004, at Norton's Suburban Hospital, Louisville.
She was a Grand Master Bridge Player and had been a bridge instructor in Sarasota, Fla., for many years.
Survivors include her brother, Daniel DiSalvo, New Albany; six nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
Visitation was Sunday at Generations Funeral Home, New Albany.

Wallace Eugene Rutherford Jr.
77; pharmacist
Funeral services for Wallace Eugene Rutherford Jr., 77, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Albany, with burial with military honors will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a pharmacist in the southern Indiana area and had also worked many years for the Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Company. He was president of the New Albany High School graduating class of 1945, a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington and Butler University College of Pharmacy. He was a United States Army veteran, having served his country during World War II and he was a Captain in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of the Indiana Pharmaceutical Association, the Jefferson Lodge No. 104 Free and Accepted Masons for over 50 years, the Commandery No. 068 Knights of Templar in Dayton, Ohio, and the Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons of Ohio. For the last several years, he has served as a volunteer at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Albany where he had served on the Vestry as Senior Warden.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jane (Coleman) Rutherford; a daughter, Susan Rutherford Torma, DDS (David), Evanston, Ill.; two sons, Wallace Eugene Rutherford III (Cindy), Belmont, Calif. and Daniel Coleman Rutherford (Kathy), Katy, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle and Daniel Rutherford and Melissa, Andrew and Katie Jane Torma.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.

Funeral services for Robert Edward "Bob" Reardon, 72, of Shelbyville, Ky., formerly of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 429 Main Street, Shelbyville, Ky., with burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Albany. He died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at his home after a long illness. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Webb Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Ky.
Iona Lemaire
91; formerly of Jeffersonville
Funeral services for Iona Lemaire, 91, of Hendersonville, Tenn., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Sacred Health Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at NHC Health Care in Hendersonville, Tenn.
She was a store clerk with the old Hanger's Pharmacy and Keller's Hardware Store. She was a member of Our Lady of the Oak Catholic Church in Hendersonville, Tenn., the American Legion Auxiliary Post 35 and V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 1832, Jeffersonville.
Survivors include her son, Alfred "Sonny" Lemaire, Hendersonville, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Eve Nicole Lemaire, New York, and Cice R. Lemaire, Hendersonville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Lemaire Sr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Coots Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.
Carl Joseph Westbay
75; of New Albany
Funeral services for Carl Joseph Westbay, 75, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, with burial in Hardinsburg Cemetery. He died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany.
He was born Oct. 27, 1928 in Louisville. He retired from American Standard after 35 years of employment and was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie Jones and a son, Jerry Allen Westbay.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Dewayne Westbay, Fredricksburg; a daughter, Carla Rodden, Floyds Knobs; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, June 25.

Funeral services for Rita Evelyn Tracy Goodman, 82, of Newburgh, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. She died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Woodland Convalescent Center in Newburgh.
She was a native of Jeffersonville and retired clerk from the china and crystal department of the old Stewart Dry Goods and L. S. Ayres. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann T. Goodman and Warren W. Burggren, Denton, Texas and Jane E. and David Parsley, Rockport; a sister, Helen Shirley Mathews, Cary, N.C.; a brother, Patrick Tracy, Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Andrew and Jennifer Parsley, Carrie Beshear and her husband Daniel, Abby, Emily, Cassie, Ryan and Zachary Parsley and Kathleen, Courtney and Tyler Burggren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Goodman.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, June 25.
