Robert G. Frusher 1915-2000
HANSTON - Robert G. Frusher, 85, died Aug. 5 at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was born June 25, 1915,
in rural Ness County, the son of Hugh M.B. and Leah Burditt Frusher. He
married Reta A. Jedlicka Aug. 11, 1946, at Ness City. She died March 29,
1977. He married Thelma Lineback Wilkerson April 18, 1981, at Ellinwood.
She died Aug. 23, 1993. A resident of Hanston, he was a farmer and rancher.
Frusher attended the First Baptist Church and Senior Center, both of Hanston.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Frusher of Jetmore and Russell Frusher of
Hanston; three daughters, JoAnn Nuss and Betty Eichman of Jetmore, and
Susan Netherton of Stillwater, Okla.; four stepdaughters, Elizabeth Hodges
of Ca?on City, Colo., Mary Wilson of Garden City, Carol Hewitt of Meade and
JoAnn Mangan of Garden City; two sisters, Ruth Nelson of Jetmore and Melvi
Lea Frusher of Ness City; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh Frusher, Edgar Frusher and
William Frusher; two sisters, Emily Jane Sayler and Mary A. Frusher; and
one grandson, Gary Nuss.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Revs. Gary Winget
and Irving Jennings officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount cemetery in
Jetmore. Friends may call until 8 tonight at Beckwith Funeral Home in
Jetmore. Memorials are suggested to the church or Hanston Senior Center,
both in care of the funeral home.

Doris J. McNickle 1920-2000
STAFFORD - Doris J. McNickle, 79, died Aug. 5 at Stafford District Hospital
in Stafford. She was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Stafford, the daughter of
Chester Beverly and Minnie Jane Fortner Asher. She married B. Keith
McNickle May 24, 1940, in Stafford. He died July 22, 1993. She was a
graduate of Stafford High School and attended Wichita Business College. A
lifetime resident of Stafford, she was a homemaker and secretary for
Stafford Courier and Mid-States Metal, both of Stafford.
Mrs. McNickle was a member of Zenith Community Church and Mamie Volker
Missionary Society, both of Zenith, and past member of Stafford Saddle Club.
Survivors include two sons, Byron L. McNickle of Stafford and Greg McNickle
of Arvada, Colo.; one daughter, Jean Tucker of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; one
brother, Beverly Asher of Stafford; five grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Kay
McNickle; one brother, James Randall Asher; one sister, Madeline Sanford;
and one great-grandchild, Brady Luke McNickle.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Leroy
Griswold officiating. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. Friends may call
from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Minnis Chapel in Stafford. Memorials are suggested
to the church, in care of the funeral chapel.

Kenneth L. Adams Sr. 1924-2000
DEWEY, Okla. - Kenneth Lavern Adams Sr., 75, died Aug. 3 at his home in
Dewey. He was born Nov. 4, 1924, at Nowata, Okla., the son of Reuben
Buckley and Hattie Melissa Oliver Adams. He was a 1942 graduate of Ochelata
High School in Ochelata, Okla. He married Beverly Jeanne Hall Feb. 23,
1947, at St. John. A resident of Dewey since 1969, he was employed by
Safeway Store in Liberal until 1963, operated his own store from 1964-1969
in McPherson, was manager of Diamond Foods in Dewey and was an employee of
Warehouse Markets.
Adams was a member of First Church of God in Dewey. He was a U.S. Army Air
Coprs veteranhaving served with the 8th Air Force in England until his
honorable discharge in 1945.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Kenneth L. Adams Jr. of
Wellington; two daughters, Melissa Brooks of Bartlesville, Okla., and
Marsha Blackwell of Dewey; three sisters, Shirley Shepard of Stephenville,
Texas, Norma Barber of Sun City, Ariz., and Mary Lou Sears of Glendale,
Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by one son, Steven M. Adams; and one brother, R.B. Adams Jr.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Revs.
Danny Hester and Tony Siebels officiating. Graveside service will be at 11
a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Park cemetery in St. John with the Rev. Danny
Hester officiating and military rites provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Minnis Chapel in
St. John. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Society, c/o Lee Warzel, P.O.
Box 1094, Bartlesville, Okla. 74005 or World War II Memorial Fund, American
Battle Monuments Commission, ATT: GR048, P.O. Box 96074, Washington D.C.

Doris Darlene Ulrich Fleenor 1926-2000
HAYS - Doris Darlene Ulrich Fleenor, 74, died Aug. 4 at Hays Medical
Center. She was born Sept. 20, 1926, at Quinter, the daughter of Clifford
Clinton and Edith Agnes Thomas Ulrich. She married Donald Fleenor June 1,
1952. She worked at Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays for 20 years.
Mrs. Fleenor was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hays,
Registered Nurse's Club and Canasta Club. She served in the Cadet Nurse's
Corp during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Lee Fleenor and Wayne S. Fleenor, both
of Hays; two daughters, Jean Dreiling of Lawrence and Elaine Moyer of
Salina; her mother, Edith Wigington of Quinter; two sisters, Rosalie Bussen
of Winona and Twila Bowsher of Great Bend; eight grandchildren; three
stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by
one sister, Jacquetta McNitt.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home
with the Rev. Wes Oakley officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Allen Cemetery
in Hays. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until
sevice time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the
Kansas Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, 1602 E. Waterman, Wichita, KS
67211.

Mary 'Flo' Roberts 1924-2000
SYLVIA - Mary "Flo" Roberts, 76, died Aug. 4 at Mennonite Friendship Manor
in South Hutchinson. She was born June 20, 1924, at Wellington, the
daughter of Edward and Mary Blake. She married Lawrence James Roberts Sr.
Sept. 6, 1941. He died Sept. 19, 1996. A resident of the Sylvia, Abbyville
and Plevna area since 1953, she was a homemaker and past owner and operator
of Sylvia Restaurant.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Nazarene and Order
of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include three sons, L.J. "Pinky" Roberts of Sylvia, Steven
Roberts of Plevna and Gregory Roberts of Hutchinson; one daughter, Barbara
Griffith of Rifle, Colo.; one half-sister, Viola Page of Pasadena, Calif.;
eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and
six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. John Miller
officiating. Burial will be at Sylvia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8
p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in Stafford. Memorials are suggested to Maude
Carpenter Children's Home, American Lung Association or Gideon's
International, all in care of the chapel.

Alan Curtis Beadles 1946-2000
Alan Curtis Beadles, 54, died Aug. 3 at his home in Great Bend. He was born
April 9, 1946, at Colchester Essex, England, the son of Curtis Lee and
Doris Winfred Crosse Beadles. He was a graduate of Wingo High School in
Kentucky. He married Joyce Huschka Feb. 9, 1974, at Great Bend. A resident
of Great Bend since 1959, coming from Water Valley, Ky., he was the former
owner and operator of Beadles Towing and Beadles Bolt & Nuts Co.
Beadles was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cheyenne Bottoms
Sportsman Club and Park Ranger, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Alan Lee Beadles of Glen
Allen, Va.; one brother, Terry Beadles of Clarkston, Wash.; and two
sisters, Holly Beadles of Mayfield, Ky., and Stephanie York of Snellville,
Ga.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in
Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Revs.
Pascal Klein and Angel Dy officiating. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche
District cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Saturday and from 1-9 p.m. Sunday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are
suggested to Central Kansas Medical Center Foundation Inc., the church, St.
Rose School Endowment Fund or donor's choice, all in care of the funeral
home.

Harry Yost 1911-2000
ALEXANDER - Harry Yost, 89, died Aug. 2 at his home in Alexander. He was
born May 15, 1911, at Alexander, the son of John and Katie Kaiser Yost. He
married Viola Wimmer June 12, 1938, at Alexander. A lifetime resident of
Alexander, he was a farmer.
Yost was a member of United Methodist Church and Golden Keys Senior Center,
both of Alexander.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Gary Yost of Bison,
Paul Yost of Tulsa, Okla., and John Yost of Olathe; two daughters, Mary Kay
McEvoy of Hays and Dorothy Plum of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Woodrow
Yost of Alexander; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at
Alexander Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of
Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City.

Glenn Halbert 1911-2000
Glenn Halbert, 89, died Aug. 3 at Great Bend. He was born June 1, 1911, at
Phillipsburg, the son of John Jacob and Maggie Marie Johnson Halbert. He
was a graduate of business school at Concordia. He married Ester Mae Folger
Aug, 29, 1938, at Cawker City. She died June 16, 1984. A resident of Great
Bend for five years, coming from Reno, Nev., he was president of Trimmer
Lawn Mower Co., in Reno and Los Angeles, Calif., employed by General Motors
and was a farmer.
Halbert was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Darryl Halbert of Bell Gardens, Calif., and
Norman Halbert of Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Theda Miller of Great
Bend; two brothers, Marvin Halbert of Mesa, Ariz., and John Halbert of
Kansas City; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Halbert and James Halbert.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Revs. Don Paden
and Terri Hurley officiating. Burial will be at the La Crosse Cemetery.
Friends may call until 9 tonight at Fryberger Mortuary in Great Bend.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the mortuary. Memorials are
suggested to American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Rosemarie S. Hays 1936-2000
Rosemarie S. Hays, 63, died Aug. 1 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St.
Rose Campus in Great Bend. She was born Aug. 13, 1936, at Philadelphia,
Penn. She married David L. Hays July 11, 1959, at the Denmark Manor Church
in Export, Penn. They have been residents of Great Bend since 1970, coming
from Larned. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hays was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her father, Johann J. Stamm of
Edmond, Okla.; one brother, Johann A. Stamm of Export; one sister,
Elizabeth Esmen of Edmond; two nephews, Paul Stamm of Export and Jeffrey
Stamm of Nashville, Tenn.; and two nieces, Leyla Esmen of Edmond and Janice
Stamm of Export.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 11 at First Presbyterian Church in
Great Bend with the Rev. Thomas Robson officiating. Arrangements are being
handled by the Great Bend Family Mortuary and Crematory. Memorials are
suggested to the church or to the Great Bend Public Library.
In life, Rosemarie treasured her family, the love shown by her church
family, Bible study and the love and caring of her neighbors.
