Bob Terlip
Bob Terlip, 81, of Frontenac died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday February 15, 2012 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. He was born November 14, 1930 in Frontenac, KS the son of Vincent (Buck) and Louise (Leksha) Terlip. Bob attended schools in Cockerill and was a 1948 graduate of Frontenac High School. He married Patricia Menghini on August 7, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, she survives at the home. Bob worked with his parents at Terlip Grocery Store on Grasshopper Corner in Frontenac. He began raising Mink in 1948 which led him into the pet food and food business; beginning with TTT Foods, Springdale Ice Cold Storage Company-Springdale, AR; Rogers Ice Cold Storage-Rogers, AR; Strongheart Pet Food- Kansas City, KS, Momence, IL and Rush Springs, OK; Triple T Foods Dixieland, Rogers, AR; Natural Life Pet Products, Frontenac, KS; Four R Poultry, Wheaton, MO; Feather Fiber Corp. Frontenac, KS; TTT Pipeline Altamont, KS and Camptown Race Track, Frontenac, KS. Bob was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac Knights of Columbus, he received a distinguished service award for 30 years of service for the Frontenac School Board and was president for 14 years, big supporter of Frontenac Athletics and the Frontenac Education Foundation, an Outstanding Alumni. He loved to fish and hunt and race greyhounds. His greatest love was his family and being active in the lives of his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home; two sons Chris Terlip and wife Kristy, Kurt Terlip and wife Kim all of Frontenac; 4 grandsons Kaleb Terlip and wife Beth, Colby, Corbin and Colin; 3 great-grandchildren Kal, Kyler and Brinkley. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Corey Terlip and a brother Frank Terlip. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday February 17, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father Thomas Stroot as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac where friends may call after 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, The Frontenac Education Foundation or the Frontenac United Methodist Church. Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay/ P.O. Box 907 Frontenac, KS 66763.

Veronica K. “Bonnie” Falletti
Veronica K. “Bonnie” Falletti, 86 of Frontenac, died at 2:10 am, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Sunset Manor Nursing Center following a long illness. She was born July 16, 1925 in Frontenac the daughter of Hugh and Josephine “Gerlack” O’Hara. She attended school in Frontenac and graduated from Frontenac High School. On November 24, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arthur P. Falletti at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on March 4, 1987. Bonnie was a homemaker and also the owner and operator of Falletti’s Liquor in Frontenac. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society, also the Women’s’ Eagles. Survivors include a son Ken and wife Jan Falletti of Frontenac; a daughter Margaret and husband Louie of Grove, OK; four grandsons, one granddaughter and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Sunday where the parish rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and or the American Cancer Society; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Oscar J. Deplue Jr.
Oscar J. Deplue Jr., 81 of Frontenac died at 8:58 p.m. Sunday March 4, 2012 at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac. He was born June 6, 1930 in Frontenac, KS the son of Oscar J. Sr. and Helen (Appino) Deplue. He was a lifetime resident of Frontenac and was a 1948 graduate of Frontenac High School. Oscar was a veteran serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Margaret Carlton on June 5, 1950 in Frontenac, KS; she preceded him in death on August 20, 1985. Oscar worked in the shops and then was a brakeman for the Kansas City Southern Railroad for 30 years. He was of the Methodist Faith. He served as mayor of Frontenac for 8 years was a 20 plus year councilman, belonged to the Frontenac American Legion, the Frontenac Rotary Club and coached little league baseball. Survivors include two sons Neil Deplue and wife Diane, Mike Deplue and wife Rita, a daughter Terri Strand and husband Rob; a sister Joelene Maransani and husband Gene all of Frontenac; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Margaret. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Burial will follow in the Frontenac City Cemetery, where the Frontenac American Legion will provide flag folding and presentation ceremonies. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where friends may call after 3 p.m. Memorial contributions can made to the Frontenac Senior Center or the Frontenac Education Foundation. Frances R. Smith
Frances R. Smith, 85 passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at her home in Girard, KS. She was born March 9, 1926 in rural McCune, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Neher) Bennett. Frances graduated from McCune Rural High School in 1944. After graduating she went on to receive her teacher’s certificate from Kansas State Teachers College. Frances married Allen Smith on May 11, 1947 in rural McCune. Frances worked numerous jobs that involved various skills such as being a homemaker, working on the farm, teaching, and food service to name a few. She was a member of the Girard Bible Church and McCune Alumni Association. She was also active in the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta. Survivors include 1 son, Luther Smith and wife Penny of rural Girard. 3 daughters, Carolan Wishall of Lenexa, KS, June Alice Dussault and husband Leo of Tilton, New Hampshire and Jennifer Smith of Panama City, Florida. 9 grandchildren, Rachel Wishall Fairweather, Kayla Wishall, Sheldon, Nathan and Andy Smith, Allen and Austin Griffith, Benjamin and Emma Dussault. 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Marion and Wayne Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen. Granddaughter Meghan Dianne Smith and 1 brother James Bennett. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Girard Bible Church with Sheldon Smith officiating and Don Wymore assisting. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Saturday, March 10 at Friskel Funeral Home. Private family burial will take place at Fort Scott National Cemetery. Memorials may be made out to Girard Bible Church Missionary Fund and may be dropped off or mailed to Friskel Funeral Home, 230 East McKay Street, Frontenac, KS 66763.

Charley Quenoy
Charley Quenoy, 86 of Frontenac died at 5:44 a.m. Sunday March 18, 2012 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. He was born July 27, 1925 in Arma, KS the son of Bartholomew and Louise (Vanducker) Quenoy. Charley was a 1943 graduate of Arma High School and then received his Teaching Degree in 1952 from Kansas State Teachers College. He married Maxine Temperelli on May 25, 1952 in Girard, KS; she preceded him in death on April 19, 2005. Charley was a school teacher for 35 years. He was a member of the Frontenac United Methodist Church, a 65 plus year member of the Frontenac American Legion, the Frontenac Rotary Club where he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He helped start and organize the Frontenac Homecoming and was a 20 plus member of the Frontenac City Council. Survivors include a daughter Diann Hollick of Bakersfield, CA; a sister Leona Marasani of Arma. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Maxine. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday March 24, 2012 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories where the Frontenac American Legion will provide flag folding and presentation ceremonies. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Frontenac Education Foundation. Andrew Paul Romanzi
Andrew Paul Romanzi, 51 of rural Pittsburg, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his home following an illness. He was born January 15, 1961 in Pittsburg the son of Angelo and Colletta (Ursic) Romanzi. Andrew was a farmer/rancher and also worked for Crawford County on the Road and Bridge Crew. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. Survivors include his Mother Colletta Bulot of Frontenac, three sisters: Judith Windsor and husband Tim, Rita Deplue and husband Mike and Angela Kotzman and husband Kurt all of Frontenac; an Aunt and Uncle Alfred and Linda Romanzi and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Angelo Romanzi, grandparents Paul and Julia Romanzi and Andrew and Annie Ursic. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Fr. Thomas Stroot officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm, Friday, March 23 at the Church, family will receive friends after the rosary. The family will be at the home of Rita and Mike Deplue 108 E. Granby, Frontenac. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association and/or the Sacred Heart Church; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Services by Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay, Frontenac, KS

Doris M. Franchione
Doris M. Franchione, 91, of Frontenac, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. Mrs. Franchione was born May 20, 1920 in Frontenac to Arthur J. and Jennie (Bernardin) Bezinque. She worked at Terlip’s Grocery, the Girard Courthouse and retired from the Selective Service Draft Board. She was a member of the Frontenac United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She married Zachary T. Hardin on January 23, 1940 in Nevada, MO and they had four children. He died in 1948. On July 1, 1960 she married John B. Franchione who preceded her in death in 1985. They had one daughter. Doris was a homemaker and a master quilter. She enjoyed trout fishing, antiques and spending time with family. Survivors include five children, Janet Hardin Grassi (Jim); Betty Hardin McDonald (Gary); Mary Ann Hardin Toeller; Tommy Hardin and Sheri Franchione Jones. Surviving grandchildren include Jocinda Wolfe (Phil); Jimmie Grassi JR. (Bobbi); Debra Long (Jim); Kristi Toeller; Haley Owens (Chase); Barbara Dunlap (Ed); Cathy Edwards; and Tom McDonald (Veronica); and 15 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; grandson Robert Keith Toeller and a sister, Eunice Mae Glad. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac with Pastor Jim Sukraw officiating. Burial will follow at the Frontenac City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. Monday until Service time. Memorials may be made out to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and/or Frontenac Education Foundation. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay Street, Frontenac, KS 66763.

Albert Stefanoni
Albert Stefanoni, 98, of Frontenac died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. He was born January 5, 1914 in Frontenac, KS the son of Bortolo and Katie (Falletti) Stefanoni. Albert was a 1933 graduate of Frontenac High School and attended Pittsburg Business College for one year in 1934. He worked for KG&E from 1936 until 1942, worked for McFarland’s Air Base in Pittsburg; was an auto mechanic in Westwood, CA from 1945 until 1952; moved back to Frontenac in 1953 and with his brother Emile became partner in the Frontenac Garage. Survivors include Albert’s sister-in-law Emma Stefanoni of Frontenac, nephew Bob Stefanoni and wife Cindy of Frontenac, a niece Eleanor Staples of Overland Park, KS; great-nephews Brad Stefanoni and wife Andra, Curtis Hoyt and wife Jennifer; great-nieces Angie Troutman and husband Jon, Carmen Letcher and husband Micky and several great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Dominic and Emile Stefanoni. According to Albert’s wishes he has been taken for cremation. Memorial Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Friday April 13th at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date at the Frontenac City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gorilla Fund for PSU Athletics Scholarships. Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay/ P.O. Naoma McClelland
Naoma McClelland, 74, of Girard died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Girard Medical Center. She was born January 31, 1938 in Ft. Scott, KS the daughter of Archie and Mabel (McReynolds) Simons. She lived in the Southeast Kansas area her entire life. Naoma married Donald Lee “Boots” McClelland on February 20, 1956 in Ft. Scott, KS; he preceded her in death on December 25, 1991. She was a homemaker and worked for 30 years as a cook at the Highway Inn Restaurant in Girard. Naoma was a lifelong Baptist. Survivors include a son Don L. McClelland Jr. of Girard; 2 daughters Connie Edwards and husband Alvin of Girard, Maggie McCormack and husband Floyd of Hepler; a brother Archie Simons of Arma; 3 sisters Beaula Brumback of Girard, Ollie McClelland of Girard, Lorraine Vasquez of Hepler, a sister-in-law Maxine Steinbaugh; 9 Grandchildren 9 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband a son Billy Joe McClelland, an infant grandson Aaron Joseph McCormack a brother and 2 sisters. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday April 19, 2012 at the Farlington cemetery in Farlington, KS with Rick Prideaux officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Friskel Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist in final expenses. Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay/P.O. Box 907 Frontenac, KS 66763.

Scherrie Ann Galimberto
Scherrie Ann Galimberto, 73, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was born December 11, 1938 in Little Rock, AR the daughter of Ray and Hazel (Kasiah) Adamson. On August 4, 1970 she was united in marriage to Steve Galimberto, Jr. in Miami, OK; he preceded her in death on March 26, 2006. She worked for Mt. Carmel Hospital as a surgical scrub tech and for Dr. Esch. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Derby, KS and was a prayer volunteer for Guidepost for 20 years. Survivors include two daughters: Stephanie Holtz and Mary Ann Galimberto both of Pittsburg, KS, a son Michael Galimberto of Nevada, MO, along with eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter Dona Cellner. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Fr. Thomas Stroot as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the National cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm, Sunday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Memorials may be made to the Wesley House; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Friskel Funeral Home of Frontenac.
