Paul Stuber and Ruby Stuber
Paul Lester "Sandy" Stuber, 93, and his wife, Ruby Mae Stuber, 90, of Winfield, died Nov. 17, 2001, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Strother Field.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Wilmot Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta Christian Church or any charity.
Sandy Stuber was born Sept. 7, 1908, near Oklahoma City to Albert Dekalb and Ada (Mateer) Stuber. After his parents died when he was a young child, he lived with his uncle and aunt, J.P. and Mary Stuber, and attended Summit School.
Ruby Stuber was born Oct. 29, 1932, near Latham to Samuel F. and Minta Mae (Sweet) Haring. After the family moved to the Atlanta area, she attended schools there and graduated from Atlanta High School in 1930.
On Oct. 29, 1932, the two were married in Winfield. They lived in Atlanta, and he worked on area farms. In 1936 the couple purchased a farm a mile north of Wilmot and lived and worked there for 57 years. They moved to Winfield in 1993.
The Stubers were 50-year members of the former Wilmot Christian Church and had been attending the Atlanta Christian Church.
His survivors include three nephews, Walter Lewis, Dee Lewis and Alan Lewis, all of rural Winfield; and three nieces, Katherine Taylor, Douglass, Marjorie Able, Winfield, and Patty John, Los Angeles.
Her survivors include a nephew, Stanley S. Haring Jr., El Dorado; and three nieces, Mirion E. Weaver, Cottonwood Falls, Dorothy Glass, Benton, and Doris Haskell, El Dorado.
Bobby Barnes
ARKANSAS CITY - Robert Lee "Bobby" Barnes, 56, of Arkansas City, died Nov. 18, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with St. James A.M.E. Church. Contributions may be made through Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
Barnes was born June 30, 1945, to Fred Barnes and Ida Lolar. He was raised and educated in Arkansas City and served in the United States Army.
Barnes married Iva Lee Walker and later married Roberta McClure.
Bobby worked as a musician and entertainer. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Barnes, and his mother, Ida Epperson, both of Arkansas City; two sons, Robert Lee Barnes II, Phoenix, and Edgar V. Barnes, Arkansas City; six daughters, Stasha Jonelle McClure, Hutchinson, Ida LaShawn Barnes, Erma Shante' Barnes and Queen Sade Barnes, all of Arkansas City, and Iynita Walker and Tonya Reed, both of Phoenix; a foster daughter, Kimberly Sartin, Arkansas City; a sister, Gwendolyn Green, Bristow, Okla., and six grandchildren.
Ruth Luckert
PERRY, Okla. - Bernice "Ruth" Luckert, 69, of Perry, died Nov. 19, 2001, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Perry. The Rev. Diane Stein will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund or Judith Karman Hospice.
Luckert was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Great Bend, to Robert and Iva (Clawson) Brown. Her father died when she was young, and her stepfather, George Everett, helped raise her.
On Oct. 19, 1952, she married Ernest Roy Luckert in Great Bend.
A member of the First Christian Church of Perry, she also was active in the Cherokee Strip Quilters Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Luckert, Perry; three daughters, Kathy Embers, Winfield, Margaret Bolay, Perry; and Jeannine Howell, McCloud, Okla.; two sons, Vernon Luckert, Ottawa, and Galen Luckert, League City, Texas; two sisters, Mary Frances Hutchings, Scott City, and Barbara Jane Wooten, Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Charles Robert Brown, Great Bend; and 11 grandchildren.
Aldine Carter
CEDAR VALE - Services for Aldine M. Carter were held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20, 2001, at Cedar Vale Baptist Church. The Rev. Stanley Upchurch officiated, and burial was in Ozro Falls Cemetery, Hewins.
The organist was Evelyn Upchurch.
Honorary casket bearers were Bill House, Larman Holroyd, Lee Myers and Joel Haden.
Casket bearers were Wayne Fridel, Paul Kulas, Scott Riggs, Robert Strange, Mike Young and Michael Young.
A memorial has been established with People's Place, 609 Cedar, Cedar Vale.
Wheeler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Leland Jordan
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. - Leland LeRoy Jordan, 57, formerly of Burden, died Nov. 18, 2001, after a long battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Sloan Jordan; two daughters, Gaye Cooper, Ponca City, and Kelly Fulsom, Clarksville, Tenn.; six sons, Greg Jordan, Arkansas City, Mike Jordan, Goodlettsville, Tenn., Brandon Jordan, Paola, Kirk Pyle, Hendersonville, Tenn., Keith Pyle, Gallatin, Tenn., and Lance Jordan, Missouri; his mother, Helen Jordan, Winfield; a sister, Twilla Jordan, Metairie, La.; a brother, Randy Jordan, Latham; and 15 grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House, Tenn. Burial was in White House Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Calvin Knighton, Richard Hartman, Jerry Oliver, Chris Weems, Chad Jones and Scott Sloan.

Dona Swallow
Dona Gertrude Swallow, 99, of 1320 Wheat Road, Winfield, died Nov. 21, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cambridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Argonia Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial has been established with Cambridge Baptist Church.
Swallow was born June 5, 1902, near Clear Springs, Mo., to William Harrison and Marcela Leutitia (Stephens) Gordon. The family moved to South Dakota and then to Doster when she was seven. She attended school there.
On July 22, 1922, she married Ralph Mahannah in Argonia. They lived and farmed near Protection, Argonia, Wichita and Conway Springs. Her husband died in January 1953.
On Jan. 6, 1956, she married John E. Swallow in Wellington. They farmed near Conway Springs and Thayer before moving to Cambridge in 1968. He died April 7, 1986.
Swallow was a member of Cambridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Mahannah, Cambridge; three daughters, Helen Stoddard, Topeka, Juana Flynn, Marshall, Ark., and Louetta Weaver, Leslie, Ark.; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Maurice, preceded her in death.
Henry Moore
ARKANSAS CITY - Henry Luther Moore, 86, of Arkansas City, died Nov. 24, 2001, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Jesse Kindred and Pastor Mark McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Friendship Meals.
Moore was born Nov. 2, 1915, at Dexter to Marvin and Maude A. (Jenkins) Moore. He attended the Fairview school in rural Dexter.
Moore served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He spent 18 months in France and England and earned various medals and ribbons.
On Jan. 2, 1953, he married Jessie Lou Parker in Springdale, Ark. She preceded him in death.
Moore, who had resided in Arkansas City since 1948, was employed by Arkansas City Packing House, Pomona Tile and Cessna Aircraft before his retirement.
He was a member of Shelton Beaty Post 18 of the American Legion, Spencer Ralston Post 1254 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Friends Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Koeller, Olathe; a son, Dale Cyrus, Mulvane; a brother, Marvin Moore, Arkansas City; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services for Ruby M. and Paul L. Stuber were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 23, 2001, at Miles Funeral Service. Doug Dorris officiated.
Arlan and Wilma Anglemyer sang "Amazing Grace," "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and "My Home, Sweet Home." Irma Scholfield was the organist.
Burial was in Wilmot Cemetery.
Honorary casket bearers were Don Drake, Don Fox, Amos Hahn and Don and Walter Meyer.
Casket bearers were Ron Cooley, Rod Dudeck, Scott Drake, Justin Groom, Lance Lewis, Philip Sandstrum and Brian, Daryl, Larry and Ronnie Thiel.

Glen Atkinson
Glen Sanford Atkinson, 71, of Winfield, died Nov. 25, 2001, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
Services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tisdale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tisdale Cemetery. Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There is no vistitation.
Memorials have been established with the Salvation Army and the American Diabetes Association.
Atkinson was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Winfield to Sanford and Fern (Snyder) Atkinson. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1948 and attended Kansas State University.
On March 19, 1955, Atkinson married Peggy Savage in Winfield, and they farmed and ranched east of town.
Atkinson served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Tisdale United Methodist Church and had been involved in numerous agriculture organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Winfield; five sons, Eric Atkinson, Alma, Stephen Atkinson, Lafayette, Colo., Mark Atkinson, Rose Hill, Keith Atkinson, Winfield, and Gregg Atkinson, Wichita; two sisters, Irma Scholfield, Winfield, and Lois Hamilton, Wichita; and five grandchildren.
