EVELYN E. BRINGHMAN
MEADE -- Evelyn Elizabeth Bringhman, 84, former Meade and Dodge City resident, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at her home in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born March 6, 1916, to James E. and Isabel (Smith) Messick, in Dickson S.D.
She married Frank I. Bringhman in 1938. He died Feb. 3, 1987.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Fountain City United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a Stephen Minister for the UMC and a Pink Lady for St. Mary's Auxiliary, all of Knoxville.
She is survived by three sons, David A. Bringhman, Fay, Okla., Robert L. Bringhman, Collierville, Tenn., and William Schmoller, Glendale, Ariz.; one daughter, Elaine M. Myers, Knoxville; one sister, Florence McMeen, of Kansas; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Alan F. Bringhman on March 20, 1995; and two grandsons, Jared Alan Bringhman and Derek Sean Zook.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Knoxville.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Graceland Cemetery
in Meade with the Rev. Chuck Mattix presiding.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

BOBBY RAY RADER
CHIBA, Japan -- Bobby Ray Rader, 68, former Liberal resident, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Chiba, Japan.
He was born Feb. 1, 1932, to Donald Hoffman and Irene Evelyn Rader in Liberal.
He attended Liberal schools and while at Liberal High School he excelled in track. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1951. He then graduated from Panhandle A & M (now Oklahoma Panhandle State University) in Goodwell, Okla., with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.
He served two years in the United States Army. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he accepted a position with the United States Food and Drug Administration in Los Angeles, Calif. He retired from that position in December 1989 and moved to Chiba.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sachiko Rader, Chiba; two brothers, Billy Mack Rader, Houston, Texas, and Jerry Joe Rader, Liberal; one sister, Georgiana Kay Shoemaker, Ulysses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jacqueline Donna Weisert; and one brother, Donald Gene Rader.
Funeral services and burial were held today in Chiba, Japan.
LLOYD MELVIN HARP
Lloyd Melvin Harp, 85, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Dec. 9, 1914, to Lewis and Letticia (Ball) Harp in Alden.
He married Elsie Elnora Baty July 23, 1937, in California. She survives.
He was a longtime Liberal resident and also lived in Laguna Niguel, Calif. for some time.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a retired owner of Furniture Mart and also coached high school basketball until retiring in 1970.
He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberal.
Other survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Beasley, Victorville, Calif., Marjorie McClure, Mt. Lebanon, Pa., and Margaret Davie, Manhattan; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Melvin Harp; one sister, Edith Burton; and two grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday with the Rev. Phil Shull presiding. Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Kitch Funeral Home.

SOPHIE MAE KOEHN
SUBLETTE -- Sophie Mae Koehn, 90, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
She was born Dec. 27, 1909, to John and Carrie (Unruh) Giesel in Canton.
She married Jonas E. Koehn April 20, 1930, in Galva. He died Sept. 6, 1999.
She moved from McPherson County to Sublette in 1943 where she and her husband farmed.
She was a homemaker.
She was a resident of the Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, since Feb. 21, 2000.
She was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church in Copeland.
Survivors include five sons, Granville Koehn and wife, Nadiene, Marienthal, John Koehn and wife, Valetta, Sublette, Andy Koehn, Sublette, Dennis Koehn and wife, Jolene, Texline, Texas, and Emery Koehn and wife, Helen, Sublette; three daughters, Jul Nightengale and husband, Bob, Center, Colo., Juanita Ensz and husband, Emory, Texline, and Jane Nikkel and husband, Ray, Pincher Creek, Alberta Canada; one brother-in-law, Alfred Koehn and wife, Eva, Scott City; and 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Freeman and Nathan Giesel; three sisters, Mornie Unruh, Mabel Ratzlaff and Elma Koehn; and one grandson, Thomas Koehn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Salem
Mennonite Church, Copeland, with the Revs. Sam Unruh Jr., Steve Unruh and Stan Smith presiding.
Burial will follow at the Salem Mennonite Cemetery
in Copeland.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Haskell County Funeral Home.

TERRY GWYN BISHOP
CADDO GAP Ark. -- Terry Gwyn Bishop, 40, died Monday, July 24, 2000, in Caddo Gap.
She was born Jan. 21, 1960, to Charles Benjamin Martin and Judy Jaquata (Huffman) Martin in Perryton, Texas.
She married George Bishop Sept. 21, 1980. He survives.
She was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church.
Other survivors include three sons, Brad Bishop, Levi Bishop and Danny Bishop, all of Caddo Gap; three brothers, Ricky Martin and Danny Martin, both of Glenwood, Ark., and Larry Martin, Hot
Springs, Ark.; one sister, Jamie Barber, San Angelo, Texas; one grandmother, Lois Huffman, Hamilton, Texas; and one grandfather, William Harvey Martin Sr., Wheeler, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Smith Funeral Chapel, Glenwood, with the Rev. Arlie Francis presiding. Burial will follow at the Mount Tabor Cemetery
in Glenwood.
LESTER L. PENNINGTON
Lester L. Pennington, 75, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his home in Liberal.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Kitch Funeral Home.
CAROL LOUISE LEE
ULYSSES -- Carol Louise Lee, 63, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at her home in Ulysses.
She was born July 16, 1937, to Robert Forrest and Virginia (Armstrong) Jessup in Pueblo, Colo.
She married Chuck Lee Sr. Oct. 12, 1952, in Las Animas, Colo. He survives.
She moved to Ulysses in 1967, from Las Animas.
She was a homemaker.
Her hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, baking and crocheting.
She attended the United Methodist Church in Las Animas.
Other survivors include one son, David Charles Lee Jr. and wife, Melanie, Ulysses; one daughter, Desirae Taylor and husband, Jeff, Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; one brother, Robert Jessup and wife, Lena, Palm Dale, Calif.; four grandchildren, Brandon Taylor, James Taylor, Laura Lee and Misty Taylor; and one great-granddaughter, Emmie Nichole.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses, with the Rev. Sam Bynum presiding. Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. tonight and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Grant County Funeral Home.
