Lorraine J. Hahn

DUNEDIN, Fla. -- Lorraine J. Hahn, 81, of Dunedin, formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001. The Fort Morgan, Colo., native retired from Mercy Hospital in Owensboro as an occupational therapist and was a former deacon and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro. She was a member of Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, Dunedin Fine Arts Center, Gulf Coast Fine Arts Center and an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Dunedin. Her husband, George Hahn, died in 1994.

Survivors include three sons, George J. Hahn of Simi Valley, Calif., Glenn R. Hahn of Elizabethtown and James B. Hahn of Canyon Lake, Calif.; two grandchildren; a sister, Claudia J. Harbour of Columbus, Ohio; a nephew; and a niece.

Services are at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Dunedin. Burial will be in Owensboro at a later date.The body was donated to science. Ambassador Mortuary Service of Oldsmar, Fla., was in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Presbyterian Church in Dunedin, Fla., or First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro.

Flora Lamb

WALTON -- Flora Lamb, 97, of Walton died Wednesday, May 30, 2001. The Kentucky native retired from Rosedale Manor in Latonia, was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington and attended Decoursey Baptist Church for more than 40 years. Her husband, Charles Lamb, died in 1963.

Survivors include four daughters, Georgia Adams of Florence, Dorothy Robbins of Crittenden, Louetta Geraci of Las Vegas and Scioto Lipscomb of Walton; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William Kelley of Owensboro; and a sister, Evelyn Kelley of Indianapolis.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Swindler & Currin Funeral Home in Latonia. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, KY 41014 or First Baptist Church, 14 Brent Spence Square, Covington, KY 41011.

George E. 'Jeb' Frazier

LIVERMORE -- George E. "Jeb" Frazier, 83, of Livermore died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Livermore native was a retired millwright, a member of Livermore Missionary Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret Hall Frazier; a son, Wayman L. Frazier of Livermore; a daughter, Jeannine Vandiver of Island; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayman Paul Frazier of Beaver Dam; and a sister, Mary Helen Long of Livermore.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in Richland Baptist cemetery in McLean County. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Richland Baptist cemetery Fund, c/o Larry Poiles, 7110 Kentucky 136 East, Calhoun, KY 42327.

Jewell R. 'Jake' Trail

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- Jewell R. "Jake" Trail, 79, of Shepherdsville died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Caritas Hospital in Louisville. The Ohio County native retired from General Electric in Louisville after 36 years of service and was a member of Hebron Lane Church of Christ in Shepherdsville.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Culbertson Trail; two daughters, Wanda Jean Davis of Lexington and Shelia Carwile of Louisville; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Adrion Trail of Louisville and Thurston Trail of Elizabethtown.

Services are at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville. Burial will be in Brookland cemetery in Brooks. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. William L. Danks Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Aline Harkins Mitchell

BROWDER -- Aline Harkins Mitchell, 78, of Browder died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Muhlenberg County native was a member of Browder Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Mitchell of Central City and Lendell Mitchell of Villa Ridge, Mo.; a daughter, Norma Jean Pentecost of Beechmont; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Knight of Owensboro and Bill Knight of Central City; and two sisters, Adelene Wilson of Drakesboro and Judy Divine of Owensboro.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Georgia Mae Lain

PHILPOT -- Georgia Mae Lain, 92, of Philpot died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and raising flowers. Her husband, Buel Lain, died Nov. 3, 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Daniel of Owensboro; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society, 319 W. 10th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Jean Alice Woolen

HORSE BRANCH -- Jean Alice Woolen, 66, of Horse Branch died there Monday, May 28, 2001. She was a Grayson County native.

Survivors include her husband, Delmer Woolen; two sons, James Delmer Woolen of Horse Branch and Dewey Ray Woolen of Hartford; a daughter, Carol Minton of Horse Branch; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Bussie Frank, Jerry Frank, Tom Frank and Jim Frank, all of Caneyville, David Frank of Morgantown, Herman Frank of Rockport, Ind., and Joe Frank of Texas; seven sisters, Catherine Tarrance, Jerline Lacefield, Marjorie Payton, Mary Crain and Linda Bryant, all of Caneyville, and Aline Burden and Brenda Beasley, both of Morgantown; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Interment will be in Frank-Embry cemetery in Caneyville. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary Morton Kuykendall

HARTFORD -- Mary Morton Kuykendall, 94, of Hartford, formerly of One Park Place, Owensboro, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. The Centertown native was co-owner of Carlisle & Kuykendall Insurance Agency in Hartford and a member of Hartford Baptist Church.

Survivors include a nephew and two nieces, including Martha Mitchell of Dundee.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Hilda S. Cooper

GREENFIELD, Ohio -- Hilda S. Cooper, 48, of Greenfield died there Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Edgewood Manor. The Calhoun native retired in February 2000 as an elementary school teacher in the Greenfield School District and was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenfield.

Survivors include a son, Lance Cooper of Cincinnati; a daughter, Savannah Cooper of Greenfield; her mother, Susie McRoy of Greenville; and a sister, Joyce Alexander of Providence.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Greenfield. Burial will be in Greenfield cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 125 N. Washington St., Greenfield, OH 45123.

Walter Ray Simpson

Walter Ray Simpson, 81, of Owensboro died there Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. The Daviess County native retired from Texas Gas in Owensboro. He was a Baptist and World War II veteran. His wife, Deloris Simpson, died Dec. 21, 2000.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda McClure of Owensboro, Edna Jernigan of Lewisport and Wanda Colyer of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial will be in Cates cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Merle Adcock

CLEATON -- Merle Adcock, 70, of Cleaton died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Hopkins County native was a retired clerk from the Central City post office and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Bremen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Don Adcock, in January 2001.

Survivors include a son, Richard Adcock of Cleaton; a daughter, Rita Cornette of Cleaton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip Johnson of Central City and James Johnson of Indiana; and a sister, Dorothy Mears of Indiana.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
