Kathleen Fugitt
(1930-2009)
Kathleen Fugitt, 79, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Louisa, Ky., died Tuesday evening, Dec. 8, 2009, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 24, 1930, in Chapman, Ky., a daughter of the late Benson Ray and Myrtle Chapman Fugitt.
She was a teacher of home economics at Vashti Methodist School for two years in Thomasville, Ga., and for a year at the Erie School in Olive Hill, Ky. She worked at Ashland Oil in the business department for several years and completed her career with the Department of Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Ms. Fugitt served as a teacher in numerous Sunday school classes and vacation Bible school classes at Christ United Methodist Church of Ashland, where she was a member. She also was a member of the Official Board of the church, a member of the Trustees Committee, a member of the chancel choir and a member of the United Methodist Women. In community activities, she served as a volunteer of the Our Lady of Bellefonte HospitalGift Shop, at the Senior Citizens Center, at area nursing homes and at a church dental clinic as well as assisting in other areas of need.
She was a graduate of Louisa High School Class of 1948 and a graduate of Asbury College with an AB degree in education.
Surviving are brothers Charles Ray (Linda C.) Fugitt of Nicholasville, Ky., and Bobby Glen (Anna W.) Fugitt of Ashland; nieces Melissa Humphrey, Julia (Don) Schultz and Carol Fugitt; great-niece Emily Schultz; and great-nephews Matthew Schultz and Joshua Fugitt.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Christ United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Moore. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Louisa.

Marvin Lee Salyer, 64, of Louisa, died Tuesday in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Aug. 3, 1945, at Adams.
His wife, Charlene Perry Salyer, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Yatesville Memorial Gardens in Louisa.

Bradley Foch Blackburn, 54, of Louisa, died Saturday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Jan. 13, 1955, in Inez. His wife, Cheryl Blackburn, survives.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa.

Glen Trosper Sr.
1935-2009
Glen Trosper Sr. of Ft. Gay, W.Va., died Friday at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa. He was born Aug. 6, 1935, in Genoa, W.Va. His wife, Eloise Trosper, preceded him in death.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa. Burial will be in Robertson cemetery on Route 1 in Ft. Gay.

Fred Edmond Roberts
1937-2009
Fred Edmond Roberts, 72, of Louisa, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 5.
He was born June 25, 1937, in Ona, W.Va., to the late Ollie and Emma Lee Isaac Roberts. He was a construction contractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hayes and Cathie Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Olie Louise Spurlock Roberts of Louisa; four daughters, Karen Rachel Blackburn of Louisa, LaGena (Don) Louise Hayes of Honolulu, Hawaii, Connie (Frank) Lynn Fairchild of Louisa and Victoria Sieasman of Louisa; two sons, James (Tara) Edmond Roberts and Allen Michael Roberts, both of Louisa; a sister, Ollie Francis Smith of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; three brothers, Bill Roberts of Louisa, George Roberts of Ashland and Noah Roberts of Dayton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Louisa.

She was born April 1, 1925, in Little Catt.

Beverly Colene Marcum Pope, 35, of Louisa died Wednesday.
She was born Nov. 2, 1974, in Louisa.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be Pope-Hammonds cemetery in Louisa.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
James Carlton LeCompte
1934-2009
James Carlton LeCompte, 75, of Louisa died Sunday.
He was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Arlington, Va.
His wife, Ernestine LeCompte, survives.
There will be no funeral service.
