Daniels, Mary Rice

LONDON, Ky. - Mary Daniels, 85, formerly of Straight Creek, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Mary Mount Medical Center in London.

She was born May 15, 1920, at Simms Fork, Ky., a daughter of the late Palastine Rice and Elizabeth Hendrickson Rice.

She was a member of Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Daniels; and three sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include her children, Robert and Norma Daniels, Shelby, Mich., Grant and Eve Daniels Jr., Siler, Ky., Rev. Danny and Phyllis Daniels, London, Ky., Scotty and Lisa Daniels, Orange Park, Fla., Flonnie Brummett, Straight Creek, and Wanda and Danny Johnson, Jasper, Ala.; two sisters, Ester Earles, Livonia, Mich., and Linda Grandelli, Clay, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle Church with the Rev. David Rice and the Rev. Glen Wilson presiding.

Music will be by Mark Mahurin and the choir from Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle Church.

Interment will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.

Doizer, Donald Ray

STRAIGHT CREEK — Donald Ray Dozier, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Pineville Community Hospital.

He was born July 23, 1942, at Roth, Ky., a son of the late Lester "Peanut" Dozier and Perna Lions Dozier.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dozier; two brothers, H.B. Dozier, Zora Dozier; sister, Christine Dozier Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Dozier, Straight Creek; three sons, Rodney Dozier, Cincinnati, Ohio, Russell Dozier, Salisburg, Md., and Donald F. Dozier, Ingram; daughter, Perna Dozier Warren, Straight Creek; five brothers, Kenneth Dozier, Arjay, Joe Dozier, Wallsend, Clifford Dozier, Wallsend, Lester Dozier Jr., Jessup, Md., Jewell Dozier, London; four sisters, Marie Mills, Maryland, Ruth Smith, Maryland, Wanda Kinder, Maryland, Faye Lawson, Morristown, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Judy Dozier, Arjay; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends, relatives and loved ones

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Wagner and Dr. Steven K. Morgan presiding.

Music will be by Julia Wagner.

Interment will be in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Dozier, Eric Dozier, Justin Dozier, Jimmy Baker, Bobby Baker, and Terry Slusher.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of all arrangements.

Elliott, Bonnie Jean

MIDDLESBORO - BONNIE JEAN ELLIOTT, 79, Pineville, who had been a homemaker, wife of Paul Elliott, died Tuesday.

Services 2 p.m. today, Mill Creek Baptist Church, Kettle Island. Visitation 1 p.m. today, church. Arrangements, Creech Funeral Home.

PINEVILLE — Bonnie Jean Elliott, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1922, at Kettle Island, a daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie Nunn Lefevers.

She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Elliott Jr.; brother, Charles Reed Lefevers; two sisters, Frances Defevers, and Pauline Bennett.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Paul A. Elliott, Pineville; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jane Elliott, Morristown, Tenn.; brothers, Fred Ernest Lefevers and wife, Edith, Jenson, and Sonny Lefevers and wife, Jenny, Harrogate, Tenn.; four sisters, Willie K. Hoskins and husband, Sylus, Coldiron, Ky., Mary Helen Elliott, Pineville, Barbara Burnette and husband, Claude, Connersville, Ind., Margaret Brock and husband, Bob, East Liverpool, Ohio; one granddaughter, Paula Ann Dolan and husband, Harry, Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandsons, Jamie C. Elliott and wife, Kathryn, Timothy C. Elliott and wife, Tonya, and Paul C. Elliott and wife, Shannon, all of Morristown, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers Mable Webb, Misty Bayless, Gina Bowlin, Emma Carey, Anna Jane Brock, Darlene Nunn, Trudy Gibson, and Mona Rae Defevers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. W.B. Bingham, Rondald Howard and Donnie Fox presiding.

Music will be provided by Anna Jane Brock, Mickey Wilder, and Benny Howard.

Burial will be in Elliott cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie C. Elliott, Timothy C. Elliott, Paul C. Elliott, Michael Elliott, Brandon West, Matthew Dolan, Robert Howard and Donald Collett.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Creech Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elliott, Cammie Michael

Cammie Michael Elliott, 50, of Russell Springs, Ky. passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Russell County Hospital of complications from cancer.

Born March 5, 1957 in Bell county, Ky., Michael was the son of Mary Ellen Lefevers Elliott and the late Cammie Elliott.

A native of Barbourville, Ky., he inherited a passion for the lumber business from his father and his uncle Paul A. Elliott.

Michael and his family took pride in building and managing Elliott Lumber Company.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was an honorary life member of the Barbourville Fire Department, contributing many years of both active and retired service.

Michael also dedicated countless hours of service to his beloved church and church family.

He was a former member of the Knox County Jaycees where he donated much time toward special projects such as the Special Olympics for needy children.

Michael devoted several years of his life assisting in The "I Believe in Santa Claus" organization in Barbourville.

He was a compassionate and devoted husband, daddy, and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cammie Elliott, father-in-law, Bob Spivey, and a special aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Paul Elliott.

Michael is survived by his wife Patsy Spivey Elliott; one daughter, Miranda Mikel Elliott; his mother, Mary Helen Lefevers Elliott of Barbourville; mother-in-law, Audrey Spivey of Russell Springs; two sisters, Gale Elliott and Mary West (Larry) of Barbourville; three nieces, Regina Michelle Haugen of Russell Springs, Bridgette Elliott and Brooke Cox of Barbourville and one nephew, Brandon West, also of Barbourville; one great niece survives, Cammie Beth Cox of Barbourville.

Michael is also survived by a special friend, Black Dog.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25, 2007 at United Methodist Church in Russell Springs, Ky. with Bro. Bodie Emerson and Charles Shepherd officiating.

Pallbearers were Scott Mullis, Tommy Helm, David Johnson, Scott Smith, Tim Throckmorton, Jim Tye and Doug Dozier.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, members of the Barbourville Fire Department, James C. Elliott, Jamie Elliott, Tim Elliott and Paul C. Elliott, Roberto Bonefront, Daniel Motta, friends at Johnson's Service Station and Sano Store, as well as other friends and family too numerous to mention.

Full military honors were performed and interment was in the church cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Ky.

The family would to extend special thanks to the blessed friends who have shown their love and support both before and after Michael's passing.

Elliott, Charles Dewey

Jenson - Charles Dewey Elliott, 94, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital.

He was born in Jenson on Jan. 24, 1912, the son of the late Rev. Cammie Elliott and Laura Woolum Elliott.

He had been a coal miner, truck driver and mechanic.

He was a believer in the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Messer Elliott; grandson, Timothy Dewayne Lawson; great-grandchildren, Jeff Watts and Roxanna Brock; great-great-grandchild. James Matthew Watts; an infant sister; brother and sisters and their spouses, Nora and John Flowers, Kitty and Joe Lawson, Elmer Bush and Eleanor Elliott; and sons-in-law, Wilburn Smith, Charles Lefevers and Renus Doulen.

Survivors include his children, Bytha Lee Smith Lefevers, Mildred June Doulen, Joyce Ilena Bicknell and husband Ernie, Charles Elliott and wife Kay, Larry Elliott and Brenda K. Lawson; 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Linda Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Morgan officiating.

Music will be by friends of the family.

Burial will be in the Jenson cemetery at Jenson.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Elliott Jr., Shaun Brown, Doug Lawson, Larry Elliott, Dale Caldwell, Ronnie Vaughn and Kevin Watts.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.

Elliott, Mary Taylor

JENSON - Mary Taylor Elliott, 91, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1914, at Beverly, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" Taylor and Sarah Cox Taylor.

She taught in the Bell County School System for 24 years, beginning her career in the small one room schools of Kettle Island and Helton.

She spent the last 17 years of her career serving the students at Arjay Elementary School, retiring on June 4, 1976. She loved each of the children whose lives she touched throughout her teaching career.

Mrs. Elliott devoted her retirement years to her family, church and friends.

She had been a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church for 48 years.

She held her many lifelong friends in high regard, and enjoyed calling them with words of encouragement.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother until her final days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Robert "Bob" Elliott; her children, Clinton Elliott, Bill David Elliott, and twins, Della and Dilbert Elliott; brother, William Gillis Taylor; sister-in-law, Edna Taylor; and special cousin, Floyd "Mogie" Cox.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law and caretaker, Tevis Goodin Elliott of Jenson; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Ethel Taylor, Jenson; sister, Bessie Lefevers, Kettle Island; sister-in-law, Shirley Taylor, Kettle Island; granddaughters, Beverly Elliott, Jenson, and Jennifer (Brian) Yankey, Jenson; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Jones, Sydney Jones and Dylan Yankey; nephews, Jason (Kathy) Taylor, Kettle Island, Clark (Sherry) Taylor and sons, Dylan and Connor, all of LaGrange, and Steve Taylor of Jenson; nieces, Emily (Robert) Hoskins, Stoney Fork, Joyce Mary (Mike) Lefevers, Kettle Island; great-nephew, Clint (April) Hurley and son, Jakeb, London; great-niece, Brooke Hurley of Kettle Island; and special brother-in-law, Pearl Ray Lefevers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Wilder and the Rev. Rondall Howard presiding.

Burial will be in Jenson cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, Clark Taylor, Steve Taylor, Clint Hurley, and Eugene Collett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pearl Ray Lefevers, Marlin Griffin, Dr. Emanuel Rader, and Boyd Goodin.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Farmer, Della Mae

MIDDLESBORO — Della Mae "Rosie" Farmer, 72, of Dorton Branch, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Pineville Community Hospital.

She was born on June 9, 1935, in Newtown to the late George Lunchford and Della Perry Lunchford Bingham. She had been a cook at the Pineville Community Hospital for over 20 years before retiring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Gus Bingham; and brothers, Rollo Bingham, George Bingham and George Lunchford.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dudd Farmer; sons and their wives, Eddie and Ann Farmer, Everett and Rhonda Farmer, Douglas and Brenda Farmer, Edward Farmer and David Farmer; four grandchildren, Alicia and James Minor, Eddie Jr. and Sarah Farmer, Erica and Chris Hawk and Mercedes Farmer; great-granddaughter, Jasamine Alexandria Farmer; sister, Mary Marcum; special cousins, Della Mae Taylor and Kathleen Black; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Broughton. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Shawn Fugate.

Burial will be in the Breastwork Hill cemetery at Pineville.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
