Lawson, Katie marie

KATIE MARIE LAWSON, 85, of Jellico, died Sunday, March 21, 1999 at Jellico Community Hospital.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mary A. McCormick Taylor and Charlie Taylor, Sr.; husband, John L. Lawson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Walden officiating.

Interment followed in Douglas cemetery. Harp Funeral Home of Jellico in charge of arrangements.

Lawson, Manford

Middlesboro - Manford Lawson, 83, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006, at the Middlesboro ARH Hospital.

He was born in Beverly on May 16, 1922, the son of the late Wesley and Lizzie Saylor Lawson. He had been a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ceph Lawson, Matt Lawson, Boyd Lawson, Dora Baker, Anna Brummett and Susie Roark.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dora Lawson of Middlesboro; sons, Phillip Lawson and wife, Kathy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Lawson and wife, Charlotte of Pineville, Roy Lawson and Deb of Middlesboro, Jerry Lawson and wife, Linda of Middlesboro, Alton Lawson and wife, Erica of Wheeling, Ill., and Greg Lawson and wife, Albany of Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter, Virginia Lefevers and husband, Freddie of Kettle Island; grandchildren, Phillip Lawson, Chris Lawson, Charles Lawson, Falinia Lawson, Brandie Stamper, Todd Bertram, Michele Bertram, Lauren Lawson, Michael Lawson, Alisa Lawson, Ryan Lawson and Anita Barton; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Lawson, Alexis Barton, Alex Barton, Aaron Lawson, Eric Lawson, Nicole Lawson, Austin Lawson; brother, Ed Lawson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11a.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Caldwell and the Rev. Kenneth Saylor presiding. Music will be by Emma Brummett, Ron Hensley, Emanuel Saylor and Jordan Lee Saylor.

Burial will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Charles Lawson, Michael Lawson, Chris Lawson, Phillip Lawson, Rodney Stamper, Joey Brigmon, Buck Ragle and Givonna Barton. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Lawson and Rueben Kidd.

Lawson, Shirley Marie Lingar

ARJAY — Shirley Marie Lingar Lawson received the keys to the Kingdom on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.

She was born March 27, 1945, and was the daughter of Charlie Lingar and Minnie Lingar. She believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Harrogate Christian Tabernacle Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ersie Jean Lingar; brother, Charles Simpson Jr.; great-grandchild, Alena Taylor.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Billy Ray Lawson Sr., Arjay; children, Billy Ray (Danna) Lawson Jr., Arjay, Sandra Dee Lawson, Arjay, Charlie Edward (Melinda) Lawson, Arjay, Larry Dean Lawson, Arjay, Dreama Dawn (Eugene) Wilder, RIght Fork, Gilliana Ray Mills, Pineville, Heather Nicole Lawson, Right Fork, Larry Dean "LJ" Lawson Jr., Arjay; brothers and sisters, Lewis Lingar, Fourmile, Johnny Lingar, White Mountain, Ulis Lingar, Fourmile, Lawrence Lingar, Fourmile, Donald Ray Lingar, Fourmile, Mable Sizemore, Pineville, Myrtle Collins, Fourmile; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Goins, the Rev. Bill Dunn, and the Rev. Arthur Jackson presiding, Music will be by Amanda Baker and Francis Sharp.

Burial will be in Bain cemetery at Fourmile. Pallbearers will be her sons and son-in-law, and Roger Ramey and James Ray Collins. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Collins.

The family will receive friends from 6-10 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville.

Lefevers, Aaron Christopher James

Aaron Lefevers, Infant

PINEVILLE -- Aaron Christopher James Lefevers, age six weeks, passed away Sunday morning, April 5, 1991, at his home.

He was the son of Gary and Terri Woolum Lefevers, and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one grandmother, Gracie Woolum.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Angela Christine Lefevers; grandparents, Herbert Woolum, Chester and Betty Lefevers; several aunts and uncles, Mechille and Allen Burke, Tim Saylor, Angela Hensley, Vickie and Carl Jordan, Melanie Melton, John Lefevers, Sharon Simpson; several cousins and other relatives; and special friends, Vickie and Keith Asher.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Revs. Irvin Gipson, William Collett Jr., and Dale Turner presiding. Burial was in Jenson cemetery.

Pallbearers were Allen Burke and Carl Jordan.

Memorials are suggested to Mill Creek Christian Academy.

Arnett & Steel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lefevers, Airy Catherine

Mrs. William Lefevers Dies at Kettle Island

Airy Catherine Lefevers, 64 years old, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Storms, Kettle Island, Friday. Funeral services were held at the Kettle Island Baptist Church Monday with the service conducted by the Rev. J C Daniel and the Rev. Camie Elliott. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. cemetery under direction of Durham Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Dewey Mosley, Grant Collett, Elisha Collett, Henderson Hubbard, Pearl Hubbard, and John Jones.

Survivors include her husband William Lefevers and the following children:

Gabe Lefevers, Straight Creek; Henry Lefevers, Pineville; Pearl Lefevers, Straight Creek; Charlie of Middlesboro; Mrs. Lena May Gray and Mrs. Phoebe Gray, Kettle Island; Mrs. Lillian Hubbard and Mrs. Julia Barton, Straight Creek. Two brothers, Johnson Hensley and Gillis Hensley, four sisters, Mrs. Julia Coleman and Mrs Maud Storms, Kettle Island; Mrs. Mattie Howard, Stanford, and Mrs. Mary Jane Collett, Kettle Island, also survive.

Lefevers, Albert

Albert Lefevers, 51 died at Cary on Wednesday.

He is survived by sisters Amanda Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio

Dora Risden of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mary C. Johnson Of Cary, Ky.

One brother Jeff Lefevers of Pineville.

Funeral Arrangements are incomplete.

The body is at the Durham Funeral Home in Pineville.

Lefevers, Alifair Gross

Funeral services for Alifair Lefevers were conducted at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Thursday, Feb. 21, 1974, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Thea O. Carter, Otto Brock, and W.B. Bingham officiating. Burial was in the Burning Springs cemetery, Straight Creek.

She was born March 19, 1883, the daughter of the late Jim and Beston Gross.

Survivors include six children, Betty Lasley and Eules LeFevers of Kettle Island, Cam LeFevers, Jenson, Scott LeFevers, Lockhart, Ill., Phronia Wilson, Greenup, Ky., and Jimmy LeFevers, Clinton, Tenn.; a brother, Daniel J. Gross, Garland, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, was in charge of arrangements.

Lefevers, Alma Irene Herrin

STONEY FORK -- Alma Irene Lefevers, 74, died Friday, Aug. 31, 1990, at Pineville Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Knox County, Ky., daughter of the late O.E. Herrin and Virginia Parker Herrin. A member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, she was retired from the Pineville Community Hospital and was a member of the Bell County Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cam Lefevers, Oct. 18, 1985; three brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.

Survivors include three daughters, Lawanda Brock and Sue Couch, both of Stoney Fork, and Gail Brock, Kettle Island; one brother, Marvin Herrin, Hamilton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michael Brock, Pam Collett, Jana Caruson, with whom they made their home, Greg Brock, Stacie Couch, and Jason Couch; special friend, Anna Baker, Stoney Fork; six great-grandchildren, Mark, Heather, Amanda, Abbie, Justin, and Kristen; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were at 12 p.m. Monday at Mill Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ray Collett and Ronald Howard officiating. Music was provided by Mill Creek Church choir, Irvin Gipson and Mickey Wilder.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the Mill Creek Christian Acadamy.

Creech FuneralHome was in charge of arrangements.

Lefevers, Amanda Kincer

Amanda LeFevers, 75, of Brodhead, died Monday, March 16, 1998 at the Sowder Nursing Home in Brodhead. She was born on February 9, 1923 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late John and Amanda Osborne Kincer, Sr. She was a retired teacher for the Rockcastle School System and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene LaFevers of Brodhead; two sons, Larry E. and John L. LaFevers, both of Brodhead; one brother, Curtis Kincer of Las Vegas, Nevada and one grandchild, John LaFevers of Brodhead. She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be Thursday, March 19, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove cemetery.

Lefevers, Anna

Mrs. Anna Lefevers a life-long resident of Bell County died at her home at Kettle Island Sunday, August 27, at 11:20 a.m. at the age of 75 year. She was born January 24, 1886 in Bell County, the daughter of the late Newt Elliott of Bell County and Mary Rhimes of Arkansas. Mrs. Lefevers was the wife of the late Noah Lefevers of Kettle Island.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Simpson, London, Ky., Mrs. Maxine Brock, Barrett, W. Va; and Mrs. Eliza Lefevers, Kettle Island; three sons, Newt Lefevers, Pineville; Walter Lefevers, Tenn.; and Martin Lefevers, Cincinnati; thirty-four grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Howard, Wallins Creek, Ky.; and Mrs. Sallie Cox, St. Augustine, Fla.

Funeral services were held at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, August 29 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating. Pallbearers were Cecil Wilson, Elihu Lewis, Paul Elliott, Arthur Ray Lefevers, Wilburn Saylor, Walter Lawson, George Simpson and Harry Simpson. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery with the Arnett Funeral Home in charge.

Lefevers, Arnold (Bud)

Mr. Arnold (Bud) Lefevers, age 76, a resident of Cary, Ky., passed away Friday, February 27, 1987 at the Pineville Community Hospital.

He was born June 2, 1910 in Bell County, Ky., the son of the late Wilce Lefevers and Mary Goodin Lefevers. He was joined in holy matrimony at Cary, Ky., July 29, 1929 to Miss Beatrice Taylor, daughter of Bill and Annie Lowe Taylor. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Taylor Lefevers, Cary; four daughters: Mrs. Marie Secen, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Shirley Hollingsworth, Pineville, Ky.; Mrs. Lotetta Klinger, Girardsville, Pa.; Miss Muriel Lefevers, Cary; seven sons: Joe Ray Lefevers, Wilce Lefevers, Lavern Lefevers, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Harold Lefevers, Mike Lefevers, Glenn Lefevers, and Larry Lefevers, all of Cary; one brother, Lloyd Lefevers, Harlan, Ky.; two sisters: Miss Flora Lefevers, Arjay, Ky.: Mrs. Ethel Southern, Middlesboro, Ky.; 55 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lefevers werre at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 1987 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Allen Lord and Marshall Reynolds. Burial followed in the Pinelawn cemetery, (Laurel Hill) Pineville, Ky. His grandsons served as pallbearers.

Durham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lefevers, Bill

Man Killed in Mine

Bill Lefevers, 30, Closplint, was killed instantly this morning in the Shackleford Coal Co. mine at Glenbrook. Mine officials were investigating the accident this morning and were unavailable for details.

However, attendants at Evarts Funeral Home were told that it was a haulage accident where two motors ran together.

Lefevers was graduated from Evarts High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been employed at the mine for four and one-half years.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Closplint Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Wynn officiating. Burial will be in the Robbins cemetery, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, Janice, he is survived by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lefevers, Closplint; four children, Lisa, Billy Jr., Randy and timothy, all of Closplint; brothers, Terry Lefevers, Closplint, and Bob of Lexington; and two sisters, Revina Early, Closplint, and Juanita Housegolder, Indiana.

The body will be taken to the home at 5 p.m. Saturday and remain there until the funeral hour.

Active pallbearers will be Roger Holmes, Lewis Pennington, David Owens, Rodney Jump, Clifford Buchanon and Mike Early.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge.
