Friday, April 4 at Harlan Baptist Church from 5 to 8 PM

Funeral:
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 PM at the Harlan Baptist Church with Reverend Don Smith officiating.

Burial:
Resthaven cemetery with military honors by the Harlan County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jason Adams, Mike Thomas, George Young, Owen Noe, Marvin Lipfird and Silas Whitehead.

Survivors:
Three chilrdren, Tim and wife Alicia Howard of Harlan; Joey and wife Tiffany Howard of Harlan; and Donnie Howard and fiance Joann Henderson of Chattanooga, TN. One brother, Gillis Howard Sr. of Harlan. Three sisters, Patricia and husband Raymond Engle of Williamsburg, OH; Judy and husband Mike Williams of Baxter; Clarissa Byrd of Knoxville, TN. One grandchild, Madison Howard.

:Preceded in death by:
His parents, Joe and Viola Gilliam.

Facts:
Joe Howard, 55, Harlan, died Tuesday evening at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hosptial. He was Harlan County District 1 Constable for 13 years, a Harlan High School Graduate, Veteran U.S. Navy, a Kentucky Colonel, a dispatcher for Harlan EMS, and a lifelong resident of Harlan County.

Rich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sue B. Cudd

Visitation:
There will be no visitation.

Funeral:
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven cemetery with the Rev. Bill Rice officiating.

Burial:
Resthaven cemetery

Survivors:
Survivors include three children; Sandra Shoemaker, Iris Barlow and Harold Cudd. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and several relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Bill Gene Cudd. Parents; Pearl & Virginia Bassham. Two brothers; Lawrence & Frank Bassham.

Facts:
Sue B. Cudd of Knoxville, TN. Formerly of Harlan, Ky. passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Shannondale Nursing Home in Knoxville, TN. Mrs. Cudd was a resident of Harlan for over sixty years and was a member of the Harlan Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Harlan Baptist Church 102 West Mound St. Harlan, Ky. 40831.

Charles Oscar Campbell, Sr
1923 - 2008

Visitation:
The family will receive friends Friday April 4, 2008 6:00 to 7:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home

Funeral:
Funeral services will be held Friday April 4, 2008 7:00pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Penwell and Rev. Franklin Stewart officiating. .

Burial:
Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday April 5, 2008 12:00pm at Resthaven cemetery in Harlan, Kentucky with Military Rites Being observed by the Harlan Co. Honor Guard.

Survivors:
He is survived by a son Charles Oscar Campbell, Jr. and his wife Jane, a daughter Gayle Alford, four grandchildren; Charles Dunaway, Karen Bradley, Michael Campbell, and Shellie Fellers, six great grandchildren; Josie and Olivia Fellers, Chelsey Dunaway, and Lindsey, Kim, and Austin Bradley, and a sister Pauline Campbell Tilton. .

:Preceded in death by:
Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Ruth Hoskins Campbell, a son William David Campbell, a son-in-law Jack Alford, a brother John Campbell, and sisters Evelyn Adkins and Netta Mantz.

Facts:
Charles Oscar Campbell, Sr., 84, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Summit View of Lake City. Born July 20, 1923 in Harlan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William (Bill) and Ethel Campbell. Mr. Campbell was an electrician at the Y-12 plant and retired in 1986 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. .

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Oct 18,2008 at 7:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with The Rev.Josh Hensley Officiating the service.

Survivors:
He is survived by his wife;Jill Lankford.Two children Tyler Lankford and Jaida Lankford all of Bledsoe,Ky.Parents; Chester and Beverly Slusher Lankford of Rio Vista,Ky.Two brothers;David Lankford and wife Glenda of W.VA. and Richard Lankford of Rio Vista.One sister; Rose Coffeman of Rio Vista,Ky. Grandfather;Charlie Sparks of Bledsoe,Ky.Sister-in-laws;Amy Bohrer and Traci Lee both of S.C. A host of nieces,nephews,family and friends also survive. .

Eric “Bill” Lankford 38,of Bledsoe,Ky.passed away Oct.16,2008 at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Wauseon,OH. June 18,1970.He believed in the Christian Faith and was a Truck driver

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 5 pm Sunday at Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral:
Funeral services will be held at 5 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home with James Forrester officiating.

Burial:
Burial will be at 12 noon Monday at Resthaven cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. .

Survivors:
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sherry Engle Adams; a son, Jimmy Adams, both of Rosspoint; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gerald and Delores Engle, of Rosspoint; six brothers: Johnny Adams, Jr. and wife Edna, Loyall; Tommy Adams; Roy Adams and wife Faye, Teetersville; Bill Adams and wife Janet, Putney; Charlie Adams and wife Tammy, Rosspoint; Terry Adams and wife Dora, Rosspoint; three sisters, Helen Caldwell and husband Shadie, of Wallins; Debbie Pennington, Putney; and Sherry Howard and husband Eddie, of Berea.

:Preceded in death by:
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Johnny Adams and Alene Durham Adams; one brother, Jimmy Adams; one sister, Phyllis Koch; grandparents, Alfred and Lora Adams; Charlie and Nellie Durham; and a brother-in-law, Olin Pennington.

Facts:
Denny "Deno" Adams, 47, of Rosspoint, passed from this life on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Holston Valley Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Harlan County and believed in the Holiness faith. Denny was a coal miner for 28 years and was currently employed at Lone Mountain Processing.

John Calvin Wade

Visitation will be held 6-9pm Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham.

Funeral:
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Monday, October 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Colinger officiating.

Burial:
Interment will follow in Resthaven cemetery at Keith. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors:
Survivors include a son, Michael Wade and wife, Colleen, Silver Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Brandon Wade, San Francisco, CA; Laura Wade, Ashton Wade, and Bevin Wade, all of Silver Springs, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward and Lizzie Baldwin Wade; a brother, Willis Wade and a sister, Virdia Mills.

Facts:
John Calvin Wade, 90, of Cumberland passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Hospice House in Summerfield, FL following a brief illness. Calvin was a native of Alabama and had lived in Harlan County most of his life. He was a World War II Veteran; member of VFW; Fields Lodge 832; and UMWA. He had retired from U.S. Steel Corp where he was an electrician. He believed in the Baptist faith and is a member of Central Baptist Church in Cumberland.

Ronald Davis
1943-2008

Visitation will be: Monday, October 20, 2008 from 5 until 7 PM in the Chapel of Rich Funeral Home. .

Funeral:
Funeral Service will be: Monday, October 20, 2008 at 7PM in the Chapel of Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Farmer and Rev. Mitchell Brock officiating.

Burial:
Burial will be: Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11AM at Resthaven cemetery.

Survivors:
He is survived by: His mother, Delcia Davis; his wife, Connie Jo Davis; a mother-in-law, Clumbine Renfro; a brother, and sister-in-law, Eddie and Mary Blanton all of Teetersville. A daughter, Beverly Ellis, two grandchildren, J.R. Ellis and Mandy Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Jasean Ellis all of Knoxville, TN. One niece, Karen Joyce and her husband, Denny Hall and one great-Nephew, Gavin Hall all of Cumberland, KY. He is also survived by a special companion, Ginger Belle. .

He is :Preceded in death by: His grandparents, Bill and Nettie Logan; his father, Clyde Davis; his father-in-law, Ed Blanton; sister-in-law, Sandra Coldiron Adams; brothers-in-law, James Coldiron and Charlie Adams and many special friends. .

Facts:
After an extended illness, Ronald Cecil-Dean Davis passed from this life into eternal rest at the age of 65 at his home in Teetersville on Friday, October 17, 2008. Ron was born on Saturday, March 6, 1943. He spent many years as a member of the Harlan Volunteer Rescue Squad and a member of the Harlan Volunteer Fire Department, the Harlan JC’s and a former dispatcher for the Harlan County Sheriff Office. He was a member of the Housing Authority Board and the Harlan ARH Advisory Board. He was a previously employed by WHLN Radio, American General Life Insurance Agency, Golden Glow Coal Company and the Housing Authority of Harlan. .

Rosella North
1939-2008

Visitation will be held for Miss. North will be held Monday After 5:00 P.M. at Liberty Pentecostal Church until the funeral hour Wednesday. .

Funeral:
Funeral Services for Miss. North will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Liberty Pentecostal Church of Molus, Ky. With the Rev; Russell Gilbert officiating

Burial:
Following the services Burial will follow in the Maythelle cemetery of Bell Co, Ky. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors:
Miss. North is survived by Eleven children; Linda Kroczyk of Mount Clemens, MI. Cinda Saylor & husband Carl of Molus, Ky. Rosie Bravander & husband Robbie of Gainesville, TN. Norman Helton Jr. & wife Jean of Lafollette, TN. Donna Brickner & husband William of Bright, IN. Dorothy Bowling of Barboursville, Ky. Mary Runions & husband Kevin of New Jersey. Gladys Helton Bright, IN. Darlene Gross & husband James of Wallins, Ky. Deana North of Barboursville, Ky. And Eldon Jay North of Barboursville, Ky. Two sisters; Fannie Saylor of Corpus Christi, TX. Vina Saylor of Ohio. One brother; Bill Saylor of Ohio. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, & 16 Great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends also survive

Rosella Saylor Helton North 68, of Barboursville, Ky. passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Knox County Hospital in Barboursville, Ky. Rosella was born December 2, 1939 in Molus, Ky. Mrs. North was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist Faith.
