WINNSBORO, La. - Services for Erseal E. Smith, 90, of Crowville, who died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Raymond Beard and Paul Stevens officiating.

Burial will be at Crowville Masonic cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Crockett Point Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Smith, and two brothers, Frank and Ossie Elkins.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Smith and wife Bobbie of Vidalia and Doyle Smith and wife Joe Ann of Calhoun; two daughters, Betty Fussell and husband Thomas of Crowville and Donis Weatherly and husband Bo of Vidalia; a niece, Geraldine Givens of Pollack; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-granchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Fussell, Barry Weatherly, Jason Smith, Bryan Johnson, Tim Welch and Adam Fussell.

Bertha Lee Glasper

CLAYTON, La. - Services for Bertha Lee Glasper, 59, of Clayton, who died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Saint Mark Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Monroe.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

She was a food service manager.

Homer Neil McMichael

Oct. 25, 1940 - Dec. 16, 2002

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Homer Neil McMichael, 62, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. today at Young's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jon Edgell officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mr. McMichael was born Oct. 25, 1940, in St. Joseph, La.

He was a handyman and a member of Vidalia Baptist Church.

Mr. McMichael was preceded in death by his father, William McMichael; his mother, Myrtis McMichael; three sisters, Beatrice Barfield, Sarah Jones and Grace Tolbert; two brothers, Clarence Lewis McMichael and Pete McMichael.

Survivors include three sisters, Clara Cole of Lake Charles, La., Ada Deweese of Tallulah, La. and Orra Kleiman of Gonzales, La.; two brothers, Billy McMichael of Ferriday and William McMichael III of Baytown, Texas, both of Tallulah; friend, Audrey Warner of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Baker, David Brown, Clayton Edgell, Aubrey Fulton, Ryan McGaughey and Arthur Ross.

Billy P. Seal

NEW ORLEANS, La. - A funeral mass for Billy P. Seal, 72, of New Orleans, who died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, will be at 7 p.m. today at the House of Bultman Funeral Home with Father John Hinton officiating.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Old Pine Hill cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro, La.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at New Hope Pentecostal Church of Leland.

He was a native of Sicily Island and a resident of New Orleans since 1953. He was a retired account executive in the marketing department of Bell South and received his associate degree from Tulane University. During the Korean Conflict, he was a corporal in the United States Army, was a member of Crescent City Chapter of The Telephone Pioneers of America and a parishioner of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. Mr. Seal was also past captain of The Knights of Jason.

Mr. Seal was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Jean Rowland Seal; one son, Russell Seal; and two brothers, Bernard Seal and Walon Marcus Seal Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Marcus Seal and Rowland Seal Sr.; two brothers, Lester Seal and Marshall Gautreau; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lilly Bernice McKay

Sept. 22, 1915 - Dec. 18, 2002

DELHI, La. - Services for Lilly Bernice McKay, 87, of Richmond, who died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at The Olive Branch in Richmond, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Delhi United Methodist Church with the Revs. Joe Rountree and Kibbie Hatfield officiating.

Burial will follow in Delhi Masonic cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. McKay was born Sept. 22, 1915, in St. Joseph, La., the daughter of Archie Brown Pullen and Francis May Pullen.

She was a member and former youth leader of the United Methodist Church of Delhi and was a member of the Lee Emmett Chapter No. 198 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fay McKay; her parents; two brothers, Walter Pullen and Julius Pullen; and three sisters, Bertha Pullen Barnard, Kate Theresa Pullen Moore and Inez Pullen Guinn Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Fay McKay Jr. of Highlands, Texas, and Dr. Robert Michael McKay of Lafayette; one daughter, Brenda McKay Neumann of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Huey Paul Bradford Sr.

Aug. 16, 1927 - Dec. 20, 2002

RIDGECREST, La. - Services for the Rev. Huey Paul Bradford Sr., 75, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Evangel Temple Assembly of God with the Rev. Douglas Fulenwider officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Grove cemetery in Rhinehart under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Rev. Bradford was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Archie, the son of James William and Adeline Paul Bradford.

He was a barber, a U.S. Army veteran and an ordained minister and served as presbyter for the Assembly of God, Louisiana District.

Rev. Bradford was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Arthur Bradford, Ben Bradford, Clyde Bradford, Leon Bradford, Lonnie Bradford, Louis Bradford, O.B. Bradford and Spencer Bradford; and two sisters, Daisy Bradford and Lena Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Gaye Bradford; one daughter, Gwen Bradford Peterson and her husband, Brad, both of Mangham; two sons, Huey Paul Bradford Jr. of Jonesboro and Mark Bradford of Springfield, Mo.; and five sisters, Minnie Bell Bingham and Esther Prince, both of Jonesville, Margie Lee of Jena, Georgia Robertson of Wildsville and Mary Gibson of Ferriday.

Pallbearers will be Richard Cain, Charlie Dodd, Gary Green, Jackie Martin, Cliff McGlothin and Louis Wigginton.

Marie Alexander

Aug. 29, 1918 - Dec. 20, 2002

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Marie Alexander, 84, of Harrisonburg, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Kidron Baptist Church with the Revs. Couch and Don Blackman officiating.

Burial will follow in Heard cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alexander was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Ogden.

She was a homemaker and a member of Kidron Baptist Church.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ernest Alexander, three sisters, Allie Balance, Coy Lee Ogden and L.E. McDonald; and two brothers, Albert Ogden and Frank Ogden.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Alexander; one son, J.D. Alexander of Harrisonburg; two daughters, Cecilie Marie Ainsworth of Harrisonburg and Carranell Artigue of Krotz Spring; one brother, Richard Ogden of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Maryanna Stockman of Harrisonburg and Lethie Nell Taylor of Jonesville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Ainsworth, Lance Ainsworth, Clint Alston, Clint Edwards, Dan Edwards and West Edwards.

William Holland

BASTROP, La. - Services for William "Shorty" Holland, 79, of Bastrop, who died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. C. S. Cascio and Andy Myrick officiating.

Burial will follow in Bartholomew cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop.

He was retired from Morehouse Parish School Board maintenance department, a member of Harmony Baptist Church and the American Legion and a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Holland and Etail Brown, and his first wife, Josephine Holland.

Survivors include his wife, Mary R. Holland; two daughters, Glenda LaJoyce Carlock and her husband, Tommy, both of Lansing, Mich., and Rita H. Carroll and her husband, Roy, both of Bastrop; two stepdaughters, Lorna Martin and her husband, Terry, both of Natchez and Lisa Leach of Bastrop; two sons, William Charles Holland Jr. of Bastrop and Ronald Everett Holland and his wife, Ann, both of Baton Rouge; one step-son, David Leach and his partner, Micah Goins of Eros, La.; six grandchildren, Rhonda Scott, Joyce Ann Scott, Danna Johnston, Ronald Holland, Jamie Holland and Tori Martin; and nine great-gandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry Montgomery, Cecil Watson, Johnnie Lindeman, Fankie Boyte, Scottie Ricks and David White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carter Cox, Orville Noble, Ed Zakrzewski, O. L. Harpr, Leonard Robinson, Allan Eppinette, Bobby Adams, Phillip McCready and the maintenance department of Morehouse Parish School Board.

Hilda Lee Williams

Oct. 3, 1950 - Jan. 28, 2003

WATERPROOF, La. - Services for Hilda Lee Williams, 52, of Waterproof, who died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, will be at 11 a.m. today at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Benjamin Battle officiating.

Burial will be at Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Waterproof, the daughter of Jessie and Julia Frazier Lee.

She was a security guard and a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star of Waterproof.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Williams of Waterproof; one daughter, Paula Williams of St. Joseph; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Georgia Rose Williams of Vidalia; two brothers, Jessie Lee Jr. of Ferriday and Robert Clark of Las Vegas; three sisters, Glenda Wilkerson of Waterproof, Jacqueline Hopkins of Chicago and Maxine Harriman of Naperville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Treveon Williams, Titaynna Williams and KeyR' Williams, all of St. Joseph; three godchildren, Jackie Byrd of Houston, Joyce King of Atlanta and Tamera Brown of Monroe; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; two uncles; and one great-uncle.

Katherine Ernestine Langley

Nov. 19, 1937 - Jan. 31, 2003

KAPLAN, La. - Services for Katherine Ernestine Langley, 65, of Kaplan, who died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at her residence, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Vincent Funeral Home with the Revs. Perry Sanders and Bert Langley officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Paul's Mausoleum in Abbeville under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Langley was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Baton Rouge, the daughter of the Rev. J.E. and Eva Robards Chandler.

She graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville. She worked as a teacher for 30 years in the Little Caillou School, an elementary school in St. Martin Parish and the Vermilion Parish School District. She retired in 1993 from the Vermilion Parish schools.

She served as Women's Missionary Union director for the Evangeline Baptist Association for three years. She also served as WMU director at her church, where she coordinated many mission activities.

She taught Sunday school for children and adults, taught Vacation Bible School, led children's choirs and served as a piano and organ player. She was also a Relay for Life supporter.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. John Noah Langley; one daughter, Christie Hargrave, and her husband, David, both of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Taylor Jude Hargrave and Kasey Lynn Hargrave, both of Kaplan; her stepmother, Ada Chandler of Livingston; three stepbrothers, Dickie Sullivan, Roger Sullivan and Bobby Sullivan; one stepsister, Louise Clocksin; and one aunt, Daisy Hoover of Baton Rouge.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hoover, Carroll Hoover, Chuck Martin, Dore Langley, Harold Langley, Rollie Cantu and Billy Chandler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gene Brierre, Eric Buller, Clarence Matte Jr., Dickie Sullivan, Roger Sullivan and Bobby Sullivan.

Elner Burnham Terry

Dec. 31, 1917 - Jan. 18, 2003

VIDALIA, La. - Services for Elner Burnham Terry, 85, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at her residence, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Gary Nunn and Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Terry was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Haynesville, La., the daughter of W.Z. and Maggie Low Burnham.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia, the Vidalia Garden Club, the Homemakers Club and the Women's Missionary Union.

She received her bachelor of science degree from Northwestern State University and her master's degree from Louisiana State University. During World War II, she served as a chemist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joy B. Sparks and Jackie B. Pullens.

Survivors include her husband, W.D. "Dick" Terry; two sons, Dickie Terry and his wife, Mary, both of Houston, and Don Terry and his wife, Mary, both of West Monroe; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sarah B. Willis of Bossier City, La.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Probst, Buck Denny, Roy Rushing, Roy Gene Cupit, Jay Welsh, Clare Shields, A.J. Gardner and Billy Ray Smart.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Craft, Dr. Edwin Hutson, James Jones and First Baptist Church of Vidalia's men's Sunday school class.
