FERRIDAY, La. - Services for infant Zarius Moore, 14 months, of Vidalia, La., who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, from injuries received in a house fire at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.

Burial will be in the Vidalia cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Zarius was born Sept. 23, 2004, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Dontrell Moore and Tamika Turner.

Survivors include his parents, Dontrell Moore of Southhaven and Tamika Turner of Vidalia; brother, Devonte Boose of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Journee Turner of Vidalia and Dontrecia Moore of Southhaven; paternal grandparents, Willie and Maurice Moore of Southhaven; maternal grandparents, Rosalyn and James Warner of Vidalia; maternal great-grandparents, Nynie and James Williams of Walls; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Annie Ruth Carter Wilson

Jan. 22, 1945 - Dec. 23, 2004

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Annie Ruth Carter, 59, of New Orleans, La., formerly of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at the Turo Infirmary in New Orleans, will be noon Friday at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.

Burial will be in the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilson was born Jan. 22, 1945, in Ferriday, La., the daughter of Rosie Carter.

Survivors include her mother, Rosie Carter of New Orleans; one daughter, Sarah Wilson Hookfin and husband, Emmett, of New Orleans; four brothers, Enry Carter of New Orleans, Jesse Banks and Larry Banks, both of Houston, Texas, and Robert Barber of Shreveport, La.; five sisters, Fredlena Allen and Mary Favorite, both of New Orleans, Dorothy Barber and Edna Harvey, both of Houston, and Ethel Carter of Jacksonville, Fla.; one granddaughter, Carlissa Hookfin of Garland, Texas; two great-grandchildren, LaKaria and LaVar Hookfin, both of Garland, Texas; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Greg King

Jan. 9, 1980 - Dec. 27, 2004

VIDALIA, La. - Services for Greg King, 24, of Vidalia, La., who died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, in Waynesboro, will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Hope Pentecostal Church with Bro. Roy Archer and Bro. Bobby Ratcliff officiating.

Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation is 5 p.m. Thursday at the church and 2 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Greg was born Jan. 9, 1980, in Ferriday, La., the son of L. J. King and Judy King. He was a resident of Vidalia and a floor hand with D&D; Drilling Company.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bennie Wilson Ratcliff.

Survivors include his wife, Kara King of Vidalia; stepchildren, Ethan, Dylan, and Hanna Nolan; father, L. J. King of Vidalia; mother, Judy King of Indian Bayou, La.; brother, Mark King of Ridgecrest, La.; sisters, Amber King of Vidalia and Lyndsey King of Indian Bayou; maternal grandparents, Marlene Caldwell and Aubry Caldwell of Ferriday; and paternal grandparents, L. J. King Sr. and Lula King of Ferriday, La.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hardy, John Reeves, J. J. Sowerheaver, Jimmy King Jr., Marshall Faust, and Danny Barnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Tyler Spence, Heath Smith, and Brandon Hoffman.

Edmond "Ed" Dobson

CLAYTON, La. - Services for Edmond "Ed" Dobson, 76, of Clayton, La., who died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home Ferriday, will be 2 p.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.

Burial will be in the Shady Acres cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

John Bowlus Echols

BATON ROUGE, La. - Services for Dr. John Bowlus Echols will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2004 at 7 p.m. with visitation beginning at 6 p.m. at The Chapel on the Campus in Baton Rouge.

Interment will be in Clinton on Jan. 4, 2004 at 11 a.m.

Julia David

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Julia David, 87, of Acme, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Professional Rehab Hospital in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. today at Acme Baptist Church with Brother Gene Gaspard officiating.

Burial will follow at Dewey cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today.

John Hamilton McClerkin

VIDALIA, La. - Graveside services for John Hamilton McClerkin, 73, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Natchez City cemetery with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.

Young's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. McClerkin was a resident of Vidalia, retired from International Paper Co., and a member of the Moose Lodge. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Truitt McClerkin, wife Johnnie Mae McClerkin, wife Louise Brock McClerkin and brother Eugene Nevins McClerkin.

Survivors include his mother, Dovie Belle McClerkin Starr of Vidalia; a sister, Shirley Marie McClerkin of Vidalia; two daughters and their husbands, Vickie and Bill Torrey of Vidalia and Dianna and Ronnie B. Crowson of Richland; four granddaughters and their husbands, Jessica and Adam Whittington of Richaland; Jennifer and Malcomb Bennett of Orlando, Fla., Terri and John Curtis of Byram, and Cristy and Derrek Richardson of Pearl; grandsons Michael and Torrey and wife Heather of Chicago and Ronnie B. Crowson Jr. of Cuba, Mo.; great-granddaughters Lauren Curtis and Breanna Crowson; and great-grandsons Justin Whittington, Calum Torrey, McNeil Bennett, Julian Batey, and Conner, Blake and Evan Crowson.

Eloise B. McNeely

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Eloise B. McNeely, 87, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Revs. Wayne Gray and Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitaiton will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. McNeely was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Monterey, the daughter of Filmore J. and Alethea N. Burley. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church. A lifelong resident of Concordia Parish, she was a special friend to so many people. She was very active in the WMU and organized the WMU at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Routon; three brothers, Louis, Jimmy and Harold Burley; and a sister, Betty Trisler.

Survivors include her husband, Kyle McNeely of Ferriday; a son, Ray Routon Jr. of Monterey; a sister, Imogene B. King of Ferriday; a special friend, Andi May of Oregon; a special and faithful caregiver, Linda Kimbrell; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Barry Maxwell, Ricky Blunschi, Pat McNeely Jr., Joseph Webber, Lynn "Sonny" Jones, Robert Clayton and Delane Burnette.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Herman Gibson, John D. Wallace III and Dr. Richard B. Wallace.

Eloise B. McNeely

Oct. 23, 1917 - Jan. 7, 2005

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Eloise B. McNeely, 87, of Ferriday, La., who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Gray and the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Mrs. McNeely was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Monterey, La., the daughter of the late Filmore K. and Alethea N. Burley. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church in Ferriday. She was a life long resident of Concordia Parish. She was very active in W.M.U. and organized the W.M.U. at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Barbara Routon.

Survivors include her husband, Kyler McNeely of Ferriday; son, Ray Routon Jr. of Monterey; sister, Imogene B. King of Ferriday; special friend, Andi May of Oregon; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joe Nathan Allen

Nov. 2, 1952 - Jan. 2, 2005

VIDALIA, La. - Services for Joe Nathan Allen, 52, of Vidalia, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in San Diego, Calif. following a short illness, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Wendell Greene Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Vidalia cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was born Nov. 2, 1952, in Natchez, the son of the late Irma Hagan Allen and Theodore Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Joe and Maggie Brown Hagan; and brother, Donnell Allen.

Survivors include a son, Torrance "Buzz" Allen of Natchez; daughter, Trina Williams of Portsmouth, Va.; seven sisters, Velma Bryant and husband, Carl, Gloria Palmer, and Carnell Allen, all of San Diego, Calif., Maxine Clemons of Swartz Creek, Mich., Betty Mason of Saginaw, Mich., Odeal Bowman and husband, Charles, and Brenda Bowman, all of New Orleans, La.; brother, Mayor Gene Allen and wife, Bonnie, of Ferriday, La.; aunt, Mathiel Tucker of Yuba City, Calif.; two uncles, Archie Hagan and Ernest Hagan and wife. Jennie, all of Vidalia; a devoted friend, Cassandra Lynch of Vidalia; two grandchildren; special friends and buddies, PeeWee, Chris, Carl, Marvin, Leroy, Catfish, Donnie, Tutt, Melvin, Fee, and others; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Margurite "Maggie" Brooks Dollar

Aug. 9, 1920 - Jan. 4, 2005

CLAYTON, La. - Services for Margurite "Maggie" Brooks Dollar, 84, of Clayton, La., who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, in Baton Rouge, La., will be 10 a.m. Friday at Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. John Williams officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dollar was born Aug. 9, 1920, in Olla, La., the daughter of the late John F. and Annie Pearl Brooks. She was a resident of Clayton since 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of Clayton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Lee Dollar Sr.; and a son, Friley Oscar Dollar.

Survivors include two daughters, Earlene Taylor and Udalie Williamson, both of Denham Springs, La.; two sons, David Dollar of Washington and Earl Lee Dollar of Clayton; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Dollar, Lawrence Dollar, Joey Taylor, Ronald Taylor, Christopher Dollar, Jeoffery Roberts, Lane Roberts, and Billy Tidwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clayton Baptist Church.

Barbara Louise Sturgeon Comer

Feb. 3, 1935 - Jan. 4, 2005

VIDALIA, La. - Services for Barbara Louise Sturgeon Comer, 69, of Vidalia, La., who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Comer was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Vidalia, La., the daughter of the late Charles M. and Lillie Viola F. Sturgeon. She as a resident of Vidalia, a member of the First Baptist Church in Vidalia, and a member of the Adult 3 Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Viola Jensen, and brother, C. L. Sturgeon.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Ray Comer of Vidalia; daughters, Babs Price and husband, Ken, of Natchez and Terry Lynn Penny of Branson, Mo.; sons, Leslie Ray Comer and wife, Pam, of Lake Charles, La. and Henry Charles Comer of Charleston, S.C.; brother, Dan Sturgeon and wife, Helen, of Zachary, La.; sisters, Oma Brown and Doris Johnese, both of Vidalia; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ben Wyles, David White, Joe Dellalio, Ken Price, Chris Jackson, James Eldon Stigall, Brain Lott, and Shawn Doherty.

Teddy Joe Promise

WATERPROOF, La. - Graveside services for infant Teddy Joe Promise, of St. Joseph, La., who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Riverland Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. today at Oakwood cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Teddy was born Dec. 30, 2004, in Ferriday, La., the son of Terrence Felix Sr. and Rosie Promise.

Survivors include his parents, Terrance Felix Sr. of Waterproof, La. and Rosie Promise; two brothers, Terrance Jr. and Tavion Felix; two sisters, Shekita and Jermaine Felix, all of St. Joseph, La.; maternal grandparents, Ethel Daniel of St. Joseph and Sylvester Walker of Amory; and paternal grandparents, Hazel Felix and Theodore Felix of St. Joseph.
