Adopted grandfather of Justin Hale, Drew Rangel and Trey Yrle. Beloved husband of the late Louise Tsecouras. Son-in-law of the late Lillian Tsecouras. Son of the late Anthony and Catherine Cassard. Brother of the late Charles Cassard, Mary Cassard Estave and Anthony Cassard, Jr. Survived by Brittney Ricca as well as many other loved family members and friends. Retired frm the U.S. Coast Guard after 47 years of service. He was a Coach for more than 25 years and board member of Lakeview Playground. Known to many as "Poppa" or "Mr. Bill". Aged 80 years. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild. BIRD
Marliss Oscar "MO" Bird, 72, a native of Texas and a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the past twenty years, died at his home in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Sunday, May 27, 2001, following a courageous battle with cancer. MO was preceded in death by his wife, LaNell, in 1990; an infant son; his parents, Janie Loucity and Thomas Marshall Bird, Sr.; and an infant brother. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Marla Nell and Gary Elmer of Bay St. Louis, MS; his daughter and her husband, Debra Jane and Michael McGah of Gilbert, AZ; his son and his wife, Bruce Marliss and Kathleen Bird of Liberty, MO; 4 granddaughters: Marmi Elmer-York and GiGi Marie Elmer of Bay St. Louis, MS; Michelle Hope Bird and Pamela Jane Bird of Liberty, MO; 2 great-granddaughters, Ashleigh Michelle York and Alexis Morgan York of Bay St. Louis, MS. MO was the youngest in his family and is survived by his brother and his wife, Thomas Marshall and Marian Bird of Pasadena, TX; Samuel Mills and Mary Bird of Alvarado, TX, and his sister, Marguerite Virginia Sudduth of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. His spirit will always be with those who knew and loved him and who rejoice in the fact that he is now with loved ones who went before him. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Gulf Coast Memorial cemetery and Mausoleum, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
