Annie L. Poole Schnell, a homemaker, died Thursday of renal failure at Meadowcrest Hospital. She was 66. Ms. Schnell was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include a sister, Sally Poole Stewart of Picayune, Miss.; and her fiancé, Bobby Cupp Sr. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 2401 Gen. de Gaulle Drive, Algiers.

OGDEN, NANCY ALLEN

Nancy Allen Ogden, an artist, died Wednesday in Natchez, Miss. She was 92. Ms. Ogden was born in New Orleans and lived in Havana, Cuba, for 24 years and in Natchez for the past 41 years. She graduated from Louise S. McGehee School and Newcomb College. She formerly was an art instructor for the Natchez school system. Her work included illustrations and paintings of landscapes, historical landmarks, homes, buildings and churches in Cuba, Natchez, New Orleans and North Carolina. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez and Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Saluda, N.C. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, First Families of Mississippi, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Garden Club of America, Hunt Botanical Institute of Carnegie-Mellon University, Orleans Club of New Orleans, Le Petit Salon of New Orleans, Historic New Orleans Collection, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Historic Natchez Foundation, Natchez Art Association, Natchez Historical Society, Mississippi State Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Progressive Study Club, Episcopal Church Women and Joseph Kuehnle Guild. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy "Nicky" Ogden Rodgers Keller of Greenville, S.C., Anne "Anita" Ogden Moore of Atlanta and Ellen Ogden Hefley; a sister, Eva Allen de Laureal of New Orleans; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Ogden Family cemetery at Greenfield Plantation. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LANDRY, RICHARD D.
June 08, 2002

Richard D. Landry, a carpenter and painter for Kaiser Aluminum, died Wednesday of cancer at his home. He was 58. Mr. Landry was born in Reserve and lived in Norco for 34 years. He served in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Karen Landry; a son, Troy Landry; a daughter, Holly Landry Hinchman; four brothers, C. F., Ronnie, Bobby and Roy Landry; five sisters, Leatrice Luminais, Mary Gay Catoire, Sylvia Simoneaux, Sybil Montegut and Irene Moore; and a grandchild. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Norco. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter cemetery in Reserve. Millet Guidry is in charge of the arrangements.

HOOPER, MARGARET DORIS CRABB
June 08, 2002

Margaret Doris Crabb Hooper, a homemaker, died Thursday at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was 83. Mrs. Hooper was born in London, England, and lived in Gretna for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Gretna Homemakers Club. Survivors include three sons, Barry James Hooper, William George Hooper and Robert Stephen Hooper; a daughter, Wendy Gail Morris; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery.

DUHE, JOHN OSWALD
June 08, 2002

John Oswald Duhe, a retired powerhouse operator for Kaiser Aluminum in Gramercy, died Thursday of complications from surgery at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 70. Mr. Duhe was born in Reserve and lived in LaPlace for 43 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5004. During the Korean War, he served aboard the USS Hooper Island, ARG12. He was a member of the LaPlace Recreation and Youth Organization, for which he coached boys baseball for 10 years. He also was duke of the Krewe of Allovus in 1977. Survivors include his wife, Betty Montz Duhe; two sons, J. Bradley Duhe of Irving, Texas, and Brandon Duhe of Garyville; two daughters, Dina Duhe Starks of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Darcie J. Duhe of Irving; a brother, Harold Duhe of Marrero; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Millet Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway. A Mass will be said Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. Fifth St. Burial will be in St. John Memorial Gardens cemetery.

FREUDENTHAL, GENEVIEVE SMITH
June 08, 2002

Genevieve Smith Freudenthal, a retired school teacher at Gretna Park Elementary, died June 1 of kidney failure at Meadowcrest Hospital. She was 71. Mrs. Freudenthal was born in Angleton, Texas, and lived in Algiers for the past 33 years. She graduated from Angleton High School and the University of Houston. Survivors include a son, Ray Lee Freudenthal; a daughter, Ann Freudenthal Kana; and two grandchildren. A private gathering will be today at 4 p.m. Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DOYLE, CATHY ANN RUELLO
June 08, 2002

Cathy Ann Ruello Doyle, dean of students at Isidore Newman Middle School, died Tuesday of cancer at her home. She was 55. Mrs. Doyle was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School and the University of New Orleans with a bachelor of arts in English. She was a member of the National Council of Teachers of English. She taught at Newman School for 20 years and received the Stephen B. Lemann Award for excellence in teaching for the year 2000. Survivors include a son, Christian Bronson Doyle; a daughter, Abigail Kathleen Doyle; and a brother, Joseph Francis Ruello. A memorial service will be held today at 7 p.m. at Bultman Funeral Home, 3338 St. Charles Ave. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Burial will be private.

Katherine Fields Bolds, a homemaker, died Sunday at Life Care Hospital. She was 81. Mrs. Bolds was born in Bogalusa and lived in New Orleans for many years. She was a member of Greater Morning Star Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Warren N. Bolds; two sons, Michael N. Bolds Sr. and Warren Bolds Jr.; three daughters, Doellen M. Burrows Boudouin, Lindia L. Rivarde Williams and Sandra G. Smith; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 841 East Sixth St., Bogalusa. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, 638 Columbia St., Bogalusa, and at 4:30 p.m. at the church. Dismissal will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Duffy cemetery in Lee's Creek.

Betty Lehmann Williams, a homemaker, died Saturday of renal failure at her home. She was 62. Mrs. Williams was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 33 years. Survivors include her husband, Peter L. Williams Sr.; three sons, Daniel "Danny" Joseph, James Paul and Peter L. Williams Jr.; six daughters, Linda W. Fowler, Cindy W. Greer, Deborah W. Johnson, Jean "Jeannie" W. Gautro, Catherine "Cathy" T. Williams and Wanda W. Holloway; six brothers, William "Billy" P., Terry Gene, Larry Joseph, Ricky Christopher, Stephen John and Peter F. Lehmann Jr.; three sisters, Carol L. Vinet, Catherine L. Oates and Merry L. Robbins; 19 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Wednesday at noon at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Hilda Becnel Williams, a homemaker and retired housekeeper, died Friday at St. Charles General Hospital. She was 89. Mrs. Williams was born in Reserve and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a parishioner of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Survivors include a sister, Mildred Becnel Riley; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 3810 Leonidas St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be private. Heritage Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Travis S. Thomas, a seaman for Rubark Industrial Services and a janitor for the University of New Orleans, died Wednesday of respiratory failure at University Hospital. He was 20. Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended John McDonogh Senior High School. Survivors include his father, Leonard Thomas Sr., his mother, Patricia Collins Thomas; two brothers, Kerry and Leonard Thomas Jr.; and five sisters, Lenore Reed, Angela, Monique, Tyranesia and Brandy Thomas; and his grandmothers, Hattie Blackman and Lydia Thomas. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Community Baptist Church, 3038 St. Bernard Ave. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Park cemetery. Inez Graf Tastet, a retired sales employee at Maison Blanche, died Friday at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 89. Mrs. Tastet was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies' Altar Society and St. Margaret's Daughters. Survivors include a son, Minel J. Tastet Jr.; three daughters, Camille T. Laderer, Judith T. Stiebing and Jeanne T. Mossey; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 631 State St. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PAUL, WASHBURN JR.
May 29, 2001

Washburn Paul Jr., a retired personnel assistant, died Thursday at his home. He was 85. Mr. Paul was born in Anniston, Ala., and lived in Metairie for the past 53 years. Survivors include his wife, Laura Hurd Paul; two sons, Washburn Paul III and David Dumont Paul; a daughter, Sandra Paul Bridges; two sisters, Marietta Paul Sigler and Elizabeth Paul Chabaud; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd.
