January 28, 2002

Mary Rancatore Wortmann, a homemaker, died Friday of complications from diabetes at Memorial Medical Center. She was 71. Mrs. Wortmann was born in New Orleans and lived there for many years and in Pearl River for the past 10 years. Survivors include two sons, Alton J. and Harold R. Wortmann Jr.; a sister, Doris Hickman; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.

BOLLHALTER, MARY KRALEMAN
January 28, 2002

Mary Kraleman Bollhalter, a homemaker, died Thursday at her home. She was 100. Mrs. Bollhalter was born in New Orleans and lived in Arabi for the past 40 years. Survivors include a son, Julius J. Bollhalter Jr.; a daughter, Shirley B. Totora; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Vickers, Verrette and Dornan Funeral Home, 3027 Jean Lafitte Parkway, Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

JAMISON, R.B.
January 28, 2002

R.B. Jamison, a retired welder, died Friday at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was 80. Mr. Jamison was born in Barlow, Ky., and lived in Slidell since 1964. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lee Jamison; two sons, Patrick Jamison of Abita Springs and David Jamison of Pearl River; two sisters, Mary Hawes of Ellsworth, Wis., and Edna Walters of St. Louis; three grandchildren; and a step-grandchild. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Lacenter, Ky. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Barlow cemetery.

LETO, SALVADORE
January 28, 2002

Salvadore Leto, an electrician, died Thursday of a heart attack at his home. He was 63. Mr. Leto was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 45 years. He served in the National Guard for four years. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Mara; three brothers, Vincent, Paul and Frankie Leto; a sister, Janice Leto Hall; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Metry Cafe, 601 Metairie Road, Metairie. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARGOT, LUCILLE LANDRY
January 28, 2002

Lucille Landry Margot, a retired Whitney National Bank employee, died Friday at her daughter's home. She was 88. Mrs. Margot was born in Convent and lived in New Orleans for many years. She was a former parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena and a former resident of Rouquet Lodge in Mandeville. Survivors include a son, Melvin Margot; a daughter, Marilyn M. Rome; five sisters, Leona Falgoust, Cecile L. Fontenot, Anna Graci Guttuso, Louis L. DiFulco and Marie L. Bernard; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Jacob Schoen and Son, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick No. 1 cemetery.

ARNOUVILLE, TESKA COYCE
January 28, 2002

Teska Coyce Arnouville, a retired crane operator for International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 406, died Sunday at Doctor's Hospital of Jefferson. He was 75. Mr. Arnouville was born in Avoyelles Parish and lived in New Orleans for the past 61 years. Survivors include his wife, Leathie Denney Arnouville; two sons, Robert Steve and Michael D. Arnouville; a daughter, Pat A. Martin; three brothers, Ernest, James and Earl Arnouville; three sisters, Audrey Coco, Anna Joyce Bravo and Ruby Lee Galjour; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.

ADAMS, TIMOTHY WILLIAM
November 29, 2002

Timothy William Adams, a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, died Monday in Broussard of injuries received in an auto accident. He was 21. Mr. Adams was born in Metairie, had lived in Kenner and lived in Lafayette. He was a graduate of Brother Martin High School. Survivors include his father, Wilfred W. Adams Jr.; his mother, Grace Hammant Adams; a sister, Bonnie Adams Schneider; and his grandmothers, Pauline Gottschalk Hammant and Jeanne A. Adams. A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum.

BILLIOT, CHARLENE ELTON DAVIS
November 29, 2002

Charlene Elton Davis Billiot, a former caterer, died Wednesday of complications from surgery at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 55. Ms. Billiot was born in New Orleans and lived there and in New York before moving to Laurel, Miss. She graduated from Jones County Junior College and formerly was listed in Who's Who in Vocational-Technical Education. She owned a catering business in New York for 15 years and then returned to New Orleans, where she was active in the food industry until she moved to Laurel. She was a member of Word of Truth Ministries in Kenner. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Gayle Anderson Philmon; her mother, Elton C. Davis; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 8 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Methodist cemetery in Laurel.

BOURDA, JOSEPH EMILE JR.
November 29, 2002

Joseph Emile Bourda Jr., a retired electrician, died Thursday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 81. Mr. Bourda was born in New Orleans and lived in Slidell before moving to Bay St. Louis, Miss., in 1988. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post No. 139 in Bay St. Louis and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4808 in Clermont Harbor, Miss. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 130 and a parishioner of St. Clara Catholic Church in Waveland, Miss. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Davis Bourda; three sons, Frank, Kevin and Robert Bourda; two daughters, Denise B. Cramer and Aileen B. Frashier; three sisters, Helen Bourda, June B. Jones and Betty B. Geoghegan; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.

BUTLER, BRUCE
November 29, 2002

Bruce Butler, a technician for Safelite Auto Glass, died Monday of undetermined causes at Memorial Medical Center. He was 38. Mr. Butler was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from John McDonogh High School. He was a member of the Veteran Umpires Association, officiating at local baseball games and other sporting events. Survivors include his wife, Benita Cochran Butler; a daughter, Logan Samantha Butler; his father, Joseph Butler Sr.; his mother, Marva Diaz Butler; three brothers, Harry and Keith Butler and Joseph Butler Jr.; and two sisters, Shelia Sheppard and Denise Pugh. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Ave. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CHOINA, LEROY A. JR.
November 29, 2002

Leroy A. Choina Jr., a contractor, died Nov. 20 of cancer at Apollo Hills Nursing Facility in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was 49. Mr. Choina was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Petersburg. Survivors include a daughter, Crystal L. Choina of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Michael Choina of New Castle, Ind., and Shane Choina of Chalmette; two sisters, Cheryl Choina Simoneaux of Terrytown and Cindy Folse of Crown Point; and a grandson. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3245 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey.

CLAY, CAROLYN ANN
November 29, 2002

Carolyn Ann Clay, a retired teacher, died Nov. 19 of complications from diabetes at her home in Oklahoma City. She was 64. Ms. Clay was born in New Orleans and lived in Oklahoma City for the past 29 years. She graduated from Xavier Preparatory High School and Xavier University and received a master's degree from Oklahoma State University. She taught in the New Orleans and Oklahoma City school systems. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Educational Association and the Oklahoma City Toastmasters Club. She also was active in the Oklahoma City Council on Fair Housing. She was a former member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court No. 21 and was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Survivors include a sister, Alice Clay Robinson of New Orleans. A memorial Mass will be said Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 4230 S. Broad St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be private. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
