Martin M.B. Franks
Martin B. Franks, 97, of Oretta, LA passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. He was a faithful Christian and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for 80 years. He served as minister for several Churches of Christ in Southwest Louisiana and was the minister at Lone Pine Church of Christ in Merryville when he became ill.
M.B. owned several retail businesses from 1943-1986, the last of which was Franks’ Furniture in DeQuincy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Rena Duhon Franks; two daughters, Rita (Glenn) Whitman of Merryville and Renee (Darrell) Treme of Lake Charles; three sons, Jerry (Paula) Franks of Natchitoches, Glen (Ena) Franks of Lake Charles, and Malcolm (Theresa) Franks of Toledo Bend; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; one sister, Otha Lee Hewitt of Lake Charles and one brother, Hubert Franks of Newton, TX.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Damon Whitman, Chad Franks, Matt Franks, Chris Franks, Dan Riley, Jeron Treme and Dustin Treme.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the DeQuincy Church of Christ in DeQuincy, LA with Ray Hyatt and Ben Treme (grandson) officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 5:00-8:00PM and will continue on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 9:00AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Bivens cemetery in Bivens, LA.
The family would like to thank Brighton Bridge Hospice and caregivers, Donna Dubke and Leola Rideaux, for their compassionate care for the last two months.

Doug Myers, 73, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, August 5, 2016 in Merryville, LA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn “Kay” Myers of Merryville, LA; sons, Douglas Myers & companion Mollie Huff of Vidor, TX, William Dale Myers & wife Elizabeth of Starks, LA; daughter, Janice Lynn Wilkerson & husband Johnny of Vidor, TX; brothers, Phillip Myers & wife Barbara of DeRidder, LA, Forrest Myers & wife Frankie of Welsh, LA; sisters, Dorlis Pippin & husband Russell of Crowley, LA, Orlis Yawn & husband Herbert of Hattiesburg, MS, Tanga Sellers & husband Darron of Merryville, LA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest & Grace Myers; brothers, Wayne & Jimmy Ray Myers; sister, Evalee Tilley; step-sons, John & James Sliman

Services will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 2:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow in the Grace Memorial Park in Merryville, LA. Rev. Donnis Ashworth & Rev. Ed Tilley will officiate.

Joseph Kascak Jr,
Joseph S. Kascak Jr., 75, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on August 3, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Deacon Al Weinnig will officiate.
Mr. Kascak was born Oct. 18, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph S. Kascak Sr. and Mary M. Kascak. He worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube until it closed and then relocated with family to Louisiana as a machinist for Citgo Petroleum.
He leaves his wife, Bernadette Missik Kascak, whom with he recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. He also leaves a son, Shawn Kascak of Houston, TX; 2 daughters, Lori Kascak of Westlake and Sherry Scoville of Moss Bluff; and a son in law, Kendall Scoville; and 3 grandchildren, Garret Kascak, Chloe Tramonte, and Kaleb Scoville.
Joseph was a loving husband, father and friend. He had a special place in his heart for all three of his grandchildren. He enjoyed the value of a good debate and loved to fish, garden, and tinker with various projects.

James V Stevison
James Stevison, 86, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, July 31, 2016 in Lake Charles, LA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: William R. Stevison of Evans, LA and James M. Stevison and Cindy of Madison, AL. daughter: Donna R. Stevison of Alexandria, LA. grand children: Patrick J. Stevison, James B. Stevison, Ryan H. Stevison and Katlyn M. Stevison. great grandchild; Madelin S. Stevison. And a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. preceded in death; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Stevison, daughter, Deborah Stevison, his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

James Robert "BOB" Eaves
Funeral services for Mr. James Robert "Bob" Eaves, 77, of Merryville, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Merryville, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Cannon cemetery, also in Merryville. The family will receive friends at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Wednesday, August 3, from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
Bob was called home to be with his Savior on July 31, 2016. He was born on February 27, 1939 in Merryville, Louisiana. Bob was a longtime resident of Merryville and graduated from Merryville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965 and retired from Boise Cascade. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Britton and Nannie Eaves, and his sisters, Vivian Gale Eaves and Melba Eaves Baldridge. He is survived by his son Dr. William Britton "Cubby" Eaves II and wife Stacey; his granddaughters, Madeline, Gabrielle and Alexandra; his siblings, Jackie Eaves Williamson, Lora Evelyn Eaves Peavy and husband Jim, Willie Bea Eaves Moses, Henry Eaves and wife Zelmaree, Linda Eaves Willis and husband Tommy; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Clifford Blackmon and Richard Lee Fortenberry. Bob loved guns, reloading, bee keeping, motorcycles, photography, ham radio and was an amateur WWII historian. Most of all, he loved his granddaughters and he loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
His son would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the church family, and numerous friends, neighbors and relatives for their support, loving care, and kindness shown to his Dad.

Johnnie Robinson Jr
Johnnie Robinson, Jr., 86, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, July 23, 2016. The celebration of Johnnie Robinson’s life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of DeRidder, La. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00. Reverend Daniel Stafford, pastor of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, will be the officiant.
Johnnie was a native of Natchitoches, La. He relocated to DeRidder in 1946, and later married
Louella Jackson. Johnnie worked at First Baptist Church for 39 years and 4 months. He was recognized with the Legacy of Achievement Award for being the employee of the year in 2007. Johnnie was also awarded the key to the city of DeRidder.
His drive for excellence and his love for his fellow man inspired and endeared him to many. He was recognized with many awards on both local and state levels. His recognition included his being honored as the oldest employee in Beauregard Parish.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Louella Robinson; his children, Arnold Robinson of Galveston, Texas, Rosetta Bowman (Ralph) of Columbia, South Carolina, Sherial Robinson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Johnny Robinson III (Cynthia) of Houston, Texas, Ernest Robinson (Julia) of Melissa, Texas, Johnathan Robinson of Houston, Texas, and one grandchild reared as their own, Rhonda Robinson of Sugarland, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Betina Robinson and Gracie Robinson; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Robinson and Ivan Robinson, Sr.; his sister, Louise Williams; and his parents, Johnnie and Rosetta Robinson.

Betty Bradshaw, 74, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in DeRidder. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home from 5 to 9 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow in Beauregard cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Bradshaw, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bryant Sigler, her twin brother, Bennie J. Sigler; brothers, Edward J. Sigler & Roddy G. Sigler, and her sister, Georgie N. McCann.
