Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James C. (Jim) Daffin, Jr. and wife Katie of Evans, LA; daughters, Jeraldine D.(Jerry) Jones and husband Major of DeRidder, LA, Barbara A. Daffin of DeRidder, LA, and Frances L. Miers and husband Roland of Ruston, LA; brothers, Royce Smith and wife Frances of White Oak, TX and Herbert Smith of Lake Charles, LA; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, James C. Daffin, parents, Lyman and Avie Smith, sisters, Irene Emmons, Belva Hester and Margie Cooley, brothers, Carmen Smith, J.B. Smith and Clarence Smith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February, 13, 2013 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cooper cemetery in Merryville, LA. Bro. Wayne Kite and Bro. Jason Hoychick will officiate. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Henry Carter, Dr. Mahesh Pandya and Brighton Bridge Hospice and thank all the many friends for their prayers and kindness shown during this time.

Banks of Centennial, CO; brother, Arvell "Bud" Peters and wife Joyce of Clayton, LA; sisters, Merline Harrison of Ohatchee, AL and Vernell Parker of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Liz Dronet and husband Ruben, Chris Banks and wife Michelle, Joshua Banks, Barrett Banks and wife Debra, Callie Banks, and Corey Banks and wife Claudia; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fisher and Ollie Peters; husbands, R.J. Banks and Hank Henry; grandson, John Robert Stewart; brother, Huey Peters and sister, Pauline Parker.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00am also at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. George Glass will officiate.

Willia Mae Johnson
January 2, 1935 - February 6, 2013
Willia Mae Johnson, 78, of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Frank Johnson, Jr. of DeRidder, La; sons, Eldridge Johnson and wife Ann of Lawton, OK and Frederick Johnson of Columbia, SC; daughters, Clara Bruce and husband David of DeRidder, LA, Barbara Mark and husband Eddie of Yokosuka, Japan and Marion Peters of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Dessie Simon of DeRidder, LA; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 godchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Thelma Ford.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00am also at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Keith Stevenson will officiate.

Annie Mae Burgin
January 18, 1938 - February 5, 2013
Annie Mae Burgin, 75, of Starks, LA passed from this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy Burgin of Starks, LA and her son, John Burgin and wife Colleen of Starks, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sue Bates. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Gambrell Baptist Church in Fields, LA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00pm at Gambrell Baptist Church in Fields, LA. Burial will follow at Hyatt cemetery in Fields, LA. Pastor Vance Thomas will officiate. Funeral services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.

Mary McKinney

Mary McKinney, 65, of Merryville, LA passed from this life on Monday, February 4, 2013 in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Wayne McKinney Sr.; son, Robert Wayne McKinney Jr. and wife Denise of Merryville, LA; daughter, Kimberly Verrett and husband Kevin of DeRidder, LA; brothers, John Marks and wife Sharon of Pensacola, FL and Robert Marks of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Frances Dickinson of Morganton, GA and Norma White and husband Wayne of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Logan Coppage, Kourtni Coppage, Ashley McKinney, Miranda McKinney, Dalton Verrett and Gabbriella Verrett. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Nicole McKinney and her parents, John and Dorothy Marks Sr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with a Memorial Service following at 11:00am

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Coty Stracener and wife Melissa of DeRidder, LA and Patrick Stracener of Leesville, LA; daughter, Shalamar Prater and husband Kenneth of DeRidder, LA; mother, Easter Jackson of Marrero, LA; brother, Jackie W. Jackson Jr. and wife Bridget of Westwego, LA; sisters, Scharlotte Ford and husband Danny of Marrero, LA and Louella Ashworth and husband Roy; grandchildren, Camdon Prater, Brandon Stracener, Emberlee Prater and Lucas Stracener. She was preceded in death by her father, Jackie Jackson Sr. and grandmother, Joy M. Gibson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Providence Baptist Church in Rosepine, LA at 10:00am.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Thelma Dominick, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Statum Jr. and wife Gelena of DeQuincy, LA, Edward Allen Statum of Vinton, LA and Aaron Paul David and Angelique of Starks, LA; mother, Vera Mae Johnson of Starks, La; brother, Edward Gene Johnson and wife Chris of Starks, LA; sisters, Ruby Nell Martinez and husband Raymond of Starks, LA, Betty Ruth Statum and husband Jerry of Starks, LA, Janice Funk and husband Roy of Vinton, LA and Patricia Peveto and husband Allen of Deweyville, TX; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Wilson and father, Edward Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks, LA. Funeral services will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 11:00am also at Calvary Apostolic Church. Burial will follow at VFW cemetery in Starks. Rev. Jeremy Shields will officiate.

Joseph Dupas Jr.
February 26, 1927 - January 23, 2013
Joseph Dupas, Jr., 85, of DeRidder, LA went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2013.He was born February 26, 1927 in Mansura, LA, the son of the late Pierre and Ellen Dupas. He was one of 8 siblings. On June 23, 1946 he married Marjorie Batiste, who survives.He performed several duties while employed by International Paper Company, from which he retired. He was also a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; sons, Joseph Dupas and Carl Dupas; daughter and son-in-law, Georgelon and Chris Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Royce and Richard Clark; daughter and son-in-law Renee and Raymond Whitley; daughter, Virginia Dupas; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Michael Hitchens; daughter and son-in-law Paula and Willie Guillory; sister, Ethel Dupas and brother David and Vastie Dupas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Boyer; sister-in-law, Mary Emma Dupas, godson, Raymond Jr. Dupas, whom he loved dearly, adopted grandson, Brandt Gainey; granddaughter, Arletta Pender and 21 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Dupas and Gaston Dupas; sisters, Yvonne Dupas, Ollie Dupas and Hazel Dupas; daughter, Mary Mercado and son, Peter Dupas and nephew, Harold Boyer.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Januray 26, 2013 beginning at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA, with a rosary at 10:30am. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Father Jude Brunnert will officate.

Harold Myers
October 15, 1931 - January 18, 2013
Harold Myers, 81, of DeQuincy, LA passed from this life on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Jennings, LA. Mr. Myers was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife traveled and went camping for 20 years. He loved horses and cows and dearly loved his tractor. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Billie Myers of DeQuincy, LA; son, Ronald Myers and wife Bella of DeQuincy, LA; daughter, Denise Malcolm and husband Terry of Culleoka, TN; sister, Ruby Hoskins of Birmingham, AL; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lena Myers and brother, Jesse Myers, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur, LA. Funeral services will be Monday, January 21, 2013 at 2:00pm also at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur. Burial will follow at Indian Village cemetery in Indian Village, Louisiana. Rev. Harlon Morgan and Rev. Henry Mobley will officiate.

Annette Smith
July 13, 1950 - January 12, 2013

Annette Smith, 62, of DeRidder, LA entered into eternal peace on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in DeRidder, LA. Mrs. Smith was married to her loving husband Michael “Mike” Smith for 35 years. Mrs. Smith loved spending time with her grandchildren. She fought cancer for 1 year and 7 months. She was truly a fighter until the end.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mike Smith of Deridder, LA; daughters, Nannette Normand of Gillis, LA, Lynette Wilber and husband Kevin of DeRidder, LA, Jeannette Bohanan and husband Seneca of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Allen Turnbull of St. Gabriel, LA; grandchildren, Colleen Bail, Devin, Danika, Dakota, Brooklynn, and Zander Wilber, Jaelynn and Zaria Bohanan. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; Enos and Bernice Turnbull.

Visitation will be held on Monday Jan. 13, 2013 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA at 10:00am. Revs. Frank Ott and Hershal Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Mrs. Patty Guzman and Mrs. Sharon Sweet for their support in her final days.
