December 3, 1964 - May 13, 2012

Funeral services for Katherine Crump Coleman, age 47, will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 2:00 pm in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Haynesville, LA, with James Peace officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Coleman was born December 3, 1964 to Eugene and Clarise Thomas Crump in Shreveport, LA and passed away on May 13, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of the Woodland Church of Christ; a Charge Audit Analyst for Willis Knighton Health Systems for the past ten years and she worked the ER at Springhill Medical Center and Doctors Hospital before going to Willis Knighton. Mrs. Coleman was a highly respected nurse by all her peers, always there to lend a helping hand with a smile on her face and there to uplift others in need. Mrs. Coleman was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, always giving support to her children she dearly loved.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Bruce Coleman, Sr., four daughters, Emilee Bailey of Bossier City, LA, Shannon Healey and husband, Kurtis of Mayflower, AR, Amy Peace and husband, James of Oil City, LA, Tara Fleming and husband, Mark of Hope, AR; two sons, Will Coleman of Benton, LA, Danny Bruce Coleman, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA; eight grandchildren, Misti Bowden of Mayflower, AR, Cameron Hicks of Calion, AR, Angel Peace of Oil City, LA, Issabella Homan of Mayflower, AR, Lane Fleming of Hope, AR, Kevin Peace of Oil City, LA, Emma Grace Healey, and Kurtis Healey, Jr. both of Mayflower, AR; two brothers, Donald Crump and wife, Linda of Haughton, LA, George Crump and wife, Sylvia of Shongaloo, LA.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Crump.

Pallbearers will be Kurt Healey, Chad Crump, Don Crump, Bruce Coleman, Jr., Mark Fleming and Chris Thompson.

Gloria Jean Thomas Andrus
November 25, 2012 - November 26, 2012

Graveside services for Mrs. Gloria Thomas Andrus, age 59, will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Springhill Cemetery with Dr. Charles Payne officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Andrus was born November 25, 1953 in Springhill, LA to Riley William and Lois Edna Johnson Thomas and passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at her residence in Cullen, LA. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

She is survived by her mother, Lois Edna Johnson Thomas; daughter, Connie Jean Cato and husband, Russell of Springhill; grandson Cameron Dale Godwin of Cullen; brother, William "Bill" Thomas and wife, Sharon of Sarepta, LA; sisters, Stella McDonald of Hosston, LA, Linda Thomas of Hosston, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Andrus was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Charles Truston Andrus, SR.

Ruth Upshaw Everett

November 17, 1927 - September 24, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Helen Upshaw Everett, age 84, will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Central Baptist Church with family and nephew, Dr. Rex Horne officiating. Interment will follow in Canaan Cemetery, Spearsville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:00 AM in Central Baptist Church with the family receiving friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.

Mrs. Everett was born November 17, 1927 in Spearsville, LA to Claude and Georgia Seale Upshaw and passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 in Shreveport, LA.

She is survived by daughter, Janie Schroeder and husband, Dave of Allen, TX; sons, Randel Everett and wife, Sheila of Midland, TX; Neil Everett and wife, Debbie of Calhoun, LA; Tim Everett and wife, Julie of Springhill, LA, Tommy Everett and wife, Kim of Genoa, AR; grandchildren, Sean Reed and wife, Lori, Cory Reed and wife, Lisa, Jeremy Everett and wife, Amy, Rachel Froom and husband, Eric, Matt Everett and wife, Sommer, Joshua Everett and Raysa and Jonathon Everett, Zach Taylor, Hannah Everett, Lily Everett, Luke, Bailey and Kelli Everett and three great grandchildren, Lucas and Samuel Everett, Carter Reed; sisters, Larue Lockwood and husband, J.H. of Bastrop, LA, Janet Horne of North Little Rock, AR, Becky McCullough and husband, Mack of West. Monroe, LA; brother, Coy Upshaw and wife, Fern of Bastrop, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Everett was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 67 years, Rev. Kenneth Ray Everett, January 26, 2012 and sisters, Lillian Tucker, Eolian Williams and Elva Upshaw.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Curtis Vaughan

April 29, 1930 - November 13, 2009

Springhill, LA/Emerson, AR - Funeral services for Curtis Vaughan, age 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 at Western Baptist Church with Rev. Jake Vanderberg officiating. Burial will be in the Western Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Vaughan, a lifelong resident of this area, died Friday, November 13, 2009 in Springhill, LA. He was a member of the Baptist faith, was employed as a brick layer for over 50 years and drove a school bus for the Webster Parish School Board for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard M. Vaughan, Sr. and Sarah Caroline Haynes Vaughan; six brothers, a step-brother, and his step-mother, Beatrice Barton Vaughan.

He is survived by sons, Danny Vaughan and wife, Janet of Emerson, AR; Dale Vaughan and wife, Sherry; daughter, Sharon Vaughan; mother of his children, Melba Davis Vaughan all of Shongaloo, LA; grandchildren, Justin Vaughan, Presley Vaughan, Tyler Stanley, Thomas Vaughan, Cora Vaughan and Jaci Mayfield; sisters, Mary Cochran and Bernice Jones, both of Emerson, AR; Helen Paradise of Seneca Falls, NY; Ruth Caskey, of Springhill, LA; Barbara Rinehart, of Vicksburg, MS; brothers, Billy Vaughan and Sammy Vaughan, both of Minden, LA; Rusty Vaughan of Durham, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Mouser, Tom Mouser, Jason Mouser, Milton Modisette, Mike Vaughan, Larry Jones, Justin Vaughan and Hershall Talley.

The family will be receiving friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Mortuary.

Elizabeth Jane Gordon
November 4, 1933 - June 25, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Gordon, age 78, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of Taylor with Dr. Randy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Family will receive friends beginning Tuesday, 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Taylor.

Mrs. Gordon was born November 4, 1933 in El Dorado, AR to Fred G. and Jessie L. Swilley Smith and passed away following a short illness on Monday, June 25, 2012 in Magnolia, AR. She had been a resident of Taylor since 1953 and a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Taylor, AR. Mrs. Gordon was a retired school teacher, having taught the third grade at Taylor Elementary for 35 years. She graduated from Norphlet School, Henderson State and Ouachita College.

She is survived by her son, Robert E. Gordon of Monticello, AR; granddaughter, Jaycee Nicole Gordon; sister, Pat Gasperson of Marshall, TX; brother, Fred Hardy Smith of Norphlet, AR and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene Gordon.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, James Hanson, Dwayne Glass, Gary Don Glass, Kenny Franklin and Mike Bowie.

Joyce Christine Turnley Walker

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Turnley Walker, age 81, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 7, 2012, in the Plain Dealing Baptist Church, Plain Dealing, LA, with Bro. Chad Hardbarger and Rev. Bill Searight officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker was born on September 2, 1930 to Jesse and Eddilee Young Turnley in Plain Dealing, LA and passed away on June 4, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of Plain Dealing Baptist Church, loved to paint and was retired from Arkla Gas Company after 19 years of service. Mrs. Walker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jimmy Walker; two sons, Tony Walker and wife, Jnell of Plain Dealing, LA, Jeff Walker of Benton, LA; five grandchildren, Jessica Walker of Baltimore, MD, Sarah Brasher and husband, Adam of Shreveport, LA, Lindsey Walker of Bossier City, LA, Colton Walker of Plain Dealing, LA, Ben Walker of Sheppard AFB, TX; great-grandchild, Leighton Beard of Bossier City, LA; three sisters, Carole Boggs of Plain Dealing, LA, Peggy Blake of Sarepta, LA, Beth Anderson and husband, Sidney of Plain Dealing; aunt, Grace Young of Plain Dealing, LA and "brother", Hugh Scott Coyle of Plain Dealing, LA.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Adam Brasher, Alan Beard, Ben Walker, Colton Walker, Tommy Boggs and Billy Young.
