November 6, 1927 - April 29, 2011

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Willis Null, age 83, will be held Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Britt officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Ruston, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Saturday at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Null was born November 6, 1927 in Jonesboro, LA to Louis Markem and Pearl Marie Culpepper Willis and passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 in Homer, LA. She had been a resident of this area since 1948, was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church and a private music teacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Mickie Null Wood and husband, Wade of Taylor, AR and her granddaughter, Eden Wood.

Mrs. Null was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Archie Conrad Null on July 24, 2006.

Pallbearers will be Wade Wood, Joe Burchfield, Jordey Burchfield, Jack Revel, Jodie Jennings and Zachrie Jennings.

Patsy Tilley Roberts
January 23, 1942 - June 10, 2012

Sarepta, LA - Graveside services for Ms. Patsy “Pat” Tilley Roberts, age 70, will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 9:00 AM in Old Sarepta Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Manuel officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Pat was born January 23, 1942 in Cullen, LA to George Paul and Josie DeLonie Rhymes Kennedy and passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Kings Corner Assembly of God Church and was a retired convenient store clerk.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Tilley Morgan and husband, Robert of Cleveland, TX; son, Darrell Ray Tilley of Sarepta, LA; sister, Becky Shows and husband, Harry of Sarepta, LA; brothers, Jim Kennedy and wife, Charlotte of Plain Dealing, LA, Ed Kennedy and wife, Delores of Delphi, IN, David Kennedy and wife, Minerva of Hartshorn, MO; grandchildren, Jeremie Wynne, Denny Stuart, Britney McWilliams, Kerry Tilley, Reagan Tilley, Sydney Tilley, Gage Tilley, Robbie Morgan, Chance Morgan; twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Joe Tilley; former husband, Bobby Ray Tilley and brother, James Kennedy.

Dorothy Marie Lewis

January 7, 1942 - January 16, 2012

Haynesville, LA - Funeral services for Dorothy Lewis, age 70, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January, 19, 2012 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.

Bro. Johnny Hicks and Bro. James Hicks will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Union County, Arkansas on January 7, 1942 to Eugene and Maebelle Bishop Hicks and passed from this life on Monday, January 16, 2012 in Homer, LA.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, William Perry of Homer; step-daughter, Tina Sue Bailey; sisters, Camellia McClain of Emerson, AR and Annette Williams of Homer, LA; brothers, Johnny Hicks of Haynesville, LA, James Hicks of Winnsboro, TX and Kenneth Hicks of Maypearl, TX; grandchildren, Rodney Bigham and Jackie Sue Jones; great-grandchildren, Karlie, Kyland, Kyler and Kaleigh.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Elton Paige "Stix" Hudson
June 8, 1919 - December 14, 2012

Plain Dealing, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Elton Paige "Stix" Hudson , age 93, will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Plain Dealing Baptist Church, Plain Dealing, LA, with Bro. James Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hudson was born on June 8, 1919 to Daniel W. and Mary Greene Hudson in Plain Dealing , LA and passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 in Bossier City. He was a lifelong resident of this area, member of the Plain Dealing Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific during WWII. Mr. Hudson was the owner/operator of Hudson Station and Grocery for many years. He loved gardening and working in the yard.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loraine Carter Hudson; daughters, Pamela Hudson Barbour and husband Greg of Dallas, TX, Janin Hudson Pou and husband David of Shreveport, Patricia Hudson Tschirhart and husband Jeff of Wylie, TX; son, Paul Hudson and wife Lizette of Richardson, TX; five grandchildren, Kristin and Clay Ostrom, Carter and Mary Clair Hudson, and Audrey Jones; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Phillips of Hooks, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Rodgers; brothers, Daniel W. "Butch" Hudson, Bob "Blue" Hudson, and Glenn "Little Boy" Hudson.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hudson, Barrett Hudson, James R. Rodgers, Jeff Clark, Kevin White, Eddie Dunn, Jeff Hudson, and Mark Hudson.

Gladys Marie Wise Schoellerman

October 10, 1915 - March 15, 2012

Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Marie Wise Schoellerman, age 97, will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Rev. Greg Hurst officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday morning at 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Schoellerman was born October 10, 1915 in Shongaloo, LA to Ivan Drew and Emma McCollum Wise and passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Taylor, AR. She was a lifelong native of Shongaloo, was a member of Old Shongaloo United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two great nieces, Cher Lynn Johnson and husband, Randall of Shongaloo, Donna Kaye Holtzclaw and husband, John of Shongaloo and a host of other cousins and loving friends.

Mrs. Schoellerman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Schoellerman; two sisters, Hazel Wise Jones, Oleta Wise Armour Williams; a brother, Billy Wise and two nephews, Randy Carrol Armour and Donnie Armour.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Holtzclaw, Randall Johnson, Hayden Holtzclaw and Jes Holtzclaw.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Summit Rehab Center and Staff.

Clifton Sanders
January 19, 1943 - June 9, 2012

Sarepta, LA - Funeral services for Clifton “Cliff” Sanders, age 69, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the New Sarepta Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at New Sarepta Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanders was born January 19, 1943 in Holly Ridge, LA to Jim and Rosie Sanders Baum and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He worked for Rose Oil Company from 1957 to 1968 in Bastrop, LA and Greenville, MS; then he moved his family to Royal Oak, MI and worked for Chrysler Corp. until 1981. He and his family then moved to Sarepta where he owned Thriftway Grocery for 16 years and worked at Dorcheat Lumber from 1998 until 2000. He was a member of the Martin Road Hunting Club; he loved to hunt, grow a garden and care for his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Bolton Sanders; daughters, Barbara Bearden and husband, Tom of Minden, LA; Pam Carter, of Sarepta, LA; son, Keith Sanders and wife, Holley of Atlanta, TX; grandchildren, Dusty Reeme, Colby Reeme and wife, Elizabeth, Michael Sanders, Abby Sanders, Christopher Carter, Timothy Carter and Madison Sanders; great-granddaughter, Aubri Reeme; brother, Billy Sanders and wife, Ann of Springhill, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Charles; sisters, Maxine Whetstone, Myrtle Thompson and Pat Colson; half-brothers, Winn and Erving Baum; half-sisters, Addie, Mellie and Grace.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Reeme, Colby Reeme, Michael Sanders, Shane Colson, Michael Jones and Eddie Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher and Timothy Carter.

Our family would like to express our appreciation to Bro. Marty Wright and our church family for the prayers, cards and food during the past four years. Special thanks to Dr. Pat Deere, Dr. Stephen Cox, Professional Home Health and the Agape staff that have helped so much during Cliff’s illness.
