Patrick Murry

February 8, 1940 - September 23, 2012

Funeral services for Mr. Patrick Murry, age 72, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 27, 2012, in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Haynesville, LA with Bro. Tom Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Murry was born on February 8, 1940 to Acie and Iona Murry in Colfax, LA and passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at his home in Haynesville, LA following a battle with cancer. He was the Owner/Operator of Murry Plumbing for 35 years. He loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his two sons, Jason Patrick Murry of Haynesville, LA, Dwane Murry and wife, Theresa of El Dorado, AR; two grandsons, Nicholas and Brandon Murry both of El Dorado; and brother, Acie "Junior" Murry Jr. of Jonesville, LA.

Mr. Murry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carolyn Crocker Murry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Cover, Nathan Roberts, Jamie Kirkpatrick, Ray Huddleston, Terry Shelton and Wayne Goss.

Bailey Funeral Home - Haynesville, LA

Rev. Kenneth Ray Everett

August 2, 1926 - January 26, 2012

Funeral services for Rev. Kenneth Ray Everett, age 85, will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Central Baptist Church with family and Dr. J. Wayne Sessions, family friend, officiating. Interment will follow in Canaan Cemetery, Spearsville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Monday at 9:00 AM in Central Baptist Church with the family receiving friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.

Rev. Everett was born August 2, 1926 in Spearsville, LA to Henry and Lillie Everett and passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was a resident of Springhill where he served as pastor of Central Baptist Church from 1969-1984 and Pastor Emeritus in 1990. Rev. Everett was also pastor of First Baptist Church, Iredell, TX; Ebenezer Baptist Church of El Dorado, AR and Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Crossett, AR. He was Director of Missions for Louisiana Baptist Convention, serving in Northwest, LA until retirement. Rev. Everett graduated from Spearsville High School; received his BS in Vocational Agriculture from LA Tech University and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary.

A member of the Greatest Generation, Kenneth served in the European Theater of World War II. He returned to his beautiful bride to begin a family that grew in number and gratitude for his example of sacrifices, humor and unconditional love. He led his congregations faithfully and was considered a Pastor to the Pastors while ministering as Director of Missions. He inspired his sons as well as countless other sons and daughters in the faith to follow his footsteps into vocational Christian service. With Mama Ruth by his side, he cultivated a legacy giving his grandchildren the opportunity to reach their potential. He humbly and good naturedly deflected praise toward Christ who he trusted as Lord and Savior. He was a good man who served a great God!

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Helen Upshaw Everett; daughter, Janie Schroeder and husband, Dave of Allen, TX; sons, Randel Everett and wife, Sheila of Midland, TX; Neil Everett and wife, Debbie of Calhoun, LA; Tim Everett and wife, Julie of Springhill, LA, Tommy Everett and wife, Kim of Genoa, AR; grandchildren, Sean Reed and wife, Lori, Cory Reed and wife, Lisa, Jeremy Everett and wife, Amy, Rachel Froom and husband, Eric, Matt Everett and wife, Sommer, Joshua Everett and wife, Raysa, Jonathon Everett, Zach Taylor, Hannah Everett, Lily Everett, Luke, Bailey and Kelli Everett and three great grandchildren, Lucas and Samuel Everett and Carter Reed.

Rev. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Upshaw, Lillian Graves and brother, Forrest Everett.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Family Life Center fund; the Canaan Cemetery Association, Spearsville, LA or donors choice.

John Samuel Bailey, Sr.

September 27, 1961 - November 16, 2012

Funeral services for Mr. John Samuel "Sam" Bailey Sr., age 51, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Holly Ridge Assembly of God Church, Haynesville, LA, with Bro. Danny Triplet officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Ridge Cemetery, Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at funeral home.

Mr. Bailey was born on September 27, 1961 to Bobby and Joy Moore Bailey in El Dorado, AR and passed away on November 16, 2012 in Homer. He was a member of the Holly Ridge Assembly of God Church and loved hunting and fishing. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pamela Hicks Bailey; son, John Bailey, Jr and wife, Season of Haynesville; step-son, Jackie White of Haynesville; parents, Bobby and Joy Bailey of Haynesville; two granddaughters, Kaylee Grace Sampson of Shongaloo, LA, Pamela White of Prescott, AR; three grandsons, Zachery White of Prescott, AR, Russell White of Prescott, AR, Jordan Bailey of Hayneville; brother, Robin Bailey of Crossett, AR; two sisters, Gloria Jean Bailey of Haynesville, Sharon Murray of Dallas, GA; mother-in-law, Margaret Hicks of Haynesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Gail Bailey, brothers, Mark Bailey, and Chubby Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Dan Waller, Danny Boots, Hank Foster, Dusty Bailey, Lee Moss, and Rayne Lewis.

Martha Louise Dunlap
August 11, 1931 - July 5, 2012

Funeral services for Martha Louise Dunlap, age 80, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe D. Chisum officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time on Monday, at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dunlap was born August 11, 1931 to George William and Georgia Smith Moore and died Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. She had been a resident of the Bossier City area for 37 years and was a former resident of Springhill. She was a member of the Baptist faith and worked in the restaurant business for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dunlap on January 19, 2011; by her parents and daughter, Linda Sue Lea Taylor.

She is survived by her son, Danny C. Lea and wife, Janice of Springhill, LA; grandchildren, Danny Joe Lea and wife, Bonnie, Daniel Lea and wife, Nicole all of Springhill, LA; Mary Louise Hensley and family of Gloster, LA; Stacy Hensley and family of MS; step-grandchildren, Kelli Jo Chanler and husband, Wesley, Kent Festervan and wife, Emily all of Minden, LA; and ten great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Joe Lea, Daniel Evan Lea, Kent Festervan, Wesley Chanler, Juan Garcia, Jr. and Shawn Hensley.

Elaine McKinney Hays

March 26, 1943 - February 21, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine McKinney Hays, age 68, will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Plain Dealing Assembly of God Church with Bro. Lawrence Craft officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Mrs. Hays was born March 26, 1943 in Minden, LA to Lochiel Price and Lois Ann Harper McKinney and passed away February 21, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. She was a resident of Plain Dealing; a member of Plain Dealing Assembly of God Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Hays was a loving wife, mother and mamaw. She could often be found crocheting, talking on the phone, and bragging on her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Milton Ray Hays of Plain Dealing, LA; children, Ricky Hays and wife, Dina of Plain Dealing, LA, Brenda Stephenson and husband, Darryl of Alexander, AR, Connie Hays of Plain Dealing, LA, Randy Hays and wife, Karen of Plain Dealing, LA; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Bounds, Christine Harris, Bernice Linebough, Delores Pirkel and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hays was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hays, Glenn Hays, Bruce Hamiter, Derek Downs, Matt Downs and John Harris

Vessar Faye Warlick

May 17, 1935 - May 17, 2012

Graveside services celebrating the life of Vessar Faye Warlick, age 77, will be held Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Western Cemetery, Emerson, AR with Rev. Gladney Hunt officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Vessar Faye was born May 17, 1935 to John Andrew Brad and Bertha Mason Cheatham in Springhill, LA and passed away May 17, 2012 in Taylor, AR following a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had spent many years as a legal secretary until her retirement.

She is survived by her sisters, Carlene Halstead, Sue Grazioso; her sisters-in-law, Ella Cheatham, Norvell Cheatham and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vessar Faye was prececed in death by her parents; her husband, Ray E. Warlick; brothers, Thomas Howard Cheatham, Charles Ray Cheatham and sister, Shirley Elizabeth Cheatham.

A special thanks to the excellent staff at Summit Health and Rehab, Taylor, AR. Vessar Faye really enjoyed helping file papers and dusting during her time there.
